Saving the Heartthrob Frenemy-Chapter 26: First kiss hehe
"How the fuck am I supposed to know," answered Deming trying to avoid the topic.
"After this whoever lasts long in that cave gets to ask YaYa to the dance," said the shortest of the five.
Qie Xieling honestly hadn’t thought about the dance but after they mentioned it he realised he wouldn’t mind going with Lee Ya so he agreed to this absurd idea.
It didn’t take long for them to reach the cave. Standing at the mouth of the cave they started nudging each other to enter first. As though to prove something, Deming made the first step leaving behind an insult.
"Pussies," he said before walking in with his torch lighting the dark space.
Qie Xieling didn’t like being called that at all so he took a step forward only for Bo Ailun to grasp his arm and pull him to the side.
"Dage... you don’t have to do this. Screw Lee Ya. Self-preservation is more important," he said and Qie Xieling knew that Bo Ailun was the voice of reason he needed. He was terrified but he was also trying to put up a brave front.
"Are you coming or you are just going to give up like a fuckin coward?" asked Deming and Qie Xieling couldn’t stand it anymore.
He shook his head at Bo Ailun and turned to leave. Bo Ailun wanted to wait outside but he found that he couldn’t let his friend go in by himself. Besides it was equally terrifying staying out here in the dark by himself.
He followed after them and when he saw one of the boys filming he asked, "Why are you filming it?"
The boy answered, "How can we explore this place and not document it? What if we do see the creature and this video goes viral on Weibo."
Bo Ailun found no fault in his words. He walked faster and caught up with Qie Xieling. The cave was getting narrow as they walked deeper.
Qie Xieling’s senses tingled when he could no longer see Deming. "Wait where did he...?" he said only to turn around and find that the other two were gone as well.
"Oh shit," muttered Bo Ailun his knees soft from fright.
Qie Xieling moved the torch around while calling out, "Guys... this isn’t funny... Guys," as Bo Ailun moved even closer to him.
As the torchlight from his cell phone swept past some rocks the two of them noticed a vague shadow and looked at each other their hearts beating fast.
"Did you see that?" asked Bo Ailun and Qie Xieling outrightly lied,
"I saw nothing. You must have been imagining it."
Bo Ailun, "..."
He shone the torch in that direction and said, "That over there... AAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!"
The two of them ran out of that cave so fast like they had gained superpowers like the Flash.
Qie Xieling screamed the loudest of the two as he dragged Bo Ailun’s wrist almost wishing he could carry him. What did they see?
They saw two horns like those of the Aoyin creature sticking out from behind the rocks and a pair of red eyes. On the ground, were bones scattered everywhere as well as splatters of blood.
There was most definitely a reasonable explanation but in this moment their brains went offline and they were terrified out of their minds.
As they reached camp Qie Xieling who wasn’t paying attention bumped into someone and the two of them fell to the ground. His lips accurately landed on the person he bumped into’s mouth and his tooth almost broke.
Qie Xieling, "..."
Five minutes ago, Luo Muchen who saw Qie Xieling leave the tent earlier got up feeling a little worried that he wasn’t back yet.
When Qie Xieling left he thought he was going to the bathroom but after waiting for ten minutes he wasn’t back. Luo Muchen decided to look for him. Just as he stepped out of the tent he saw the light from a torchlight flickering in the forest.
He walked over there only to hear Qie Xieling and Bo Ailun screaming while running over. He rushed in that direction his heart racing fearing the worst. But who would have thought Qie Xieling was as blind as a bat and run into him? This led to this unfortunate accident.
Qie Xieling’s eyes widened as he covered his lips looking at Luo Muchen. Luo Muchen was in such a daze that he didn’t notice the pain nor that his bottom lip was bruised.
Bo Ailun helped Qie Xieling up and pulled his hands away to check on his lips. Qie Xieling hissed with tears in his eyes. That shit was painful as fuck.
Luo Muchen couldn’t breathe for a moment. He was just staring at the night sky in a stupor. His ears were ringing like he had been blown up by an IED on the battlefield. His bones were on fire like he had been set alight making him sweat all over.
He was in such a daze that he didn’t remember when Bo Ailun helped him up and how they got back to the campsite.
When he finally came back to himself he was sitting on his sleeping bag while Bo Ailun was checking Qie Xieling’s lips with the flashlight on his cell phone.
The both of them were sitting cross-legged on Qie Xieling’s sleeping bag. Qie Xieling hissed in pain again while moving his head away.
"This is all your fault. I told you not to go there," complained Bo Ailun and Qie Xieling couldn’t even refute that.
"I fucking know that now. I was wrong. I will listen to you next time," he said with a tear at the corner of his eye.
Luo Muchen cleared his throat and stammered, "I I have ontiment... You can go back. I will apply for him."
Bo Ailun turned to look at Luo Muchen and praised him. "Class president is truly amazing. You even brought this?" he said before getting up.
"I will leave it to you. I need to go cry myself to sleep after that ordeal," he said before walking out.
Qie Xieling touched his lips with his finger as though looking for any signs of bleeding. Before he could touch it again Luo Muchen sat opposite him on the same sleeping bag and said, "Don’t touch it anymore... it might get more swollen."
With his brows knitted Qie Xieling looked at Luo Muchen. Luo Muchen’s lips were also swollen but unlike Qie Xieling’s they were torn. The cut was small but very noticeable.
Qie Xieling suddenly felt bad. He was the one that bumped into Luo Muchen because as always he wasn’t looking where he was going.
