Second Take On Romance - The A-List Actor Wants Me-Chapter 314 : (Extra) Shang Ruohai and Feng Jieyun’s Side Story (2)
Chapter 314: Chapter 314 : (Extra) Shang Ruohai and Feng Jieyun’s Side Story (2)
Shang Ruohan burst into laughter the moment he saw the pamphlet.
"Pffft! A talent show???"
Following his example, his retainers broke into a round of guffaw.
"Hahaha! The child of the mistress is so full of himself!"
"He actually thinks that he can become a star, hahaha!!!"
Shang Ruohai gritted his teeth. He wriggled free from his captors’ grip and lunged at Shang Ruohan.
"Give it back to me, you bastard!"
He managed to push Shang Ruohan to the ground, but that victorious moment ended a split second later when he was dragged backward by Shang Ruohan’s followers and beaten black and blue.
Shang Ruohai held both arms up to protect his head.
It was his own fault, he thought bitterly.
He wanted to eat his lunch in peace while looking at the pamphlet again.
He didn’t expect to be found by Shang Ruohan and his boys.
There was no one else on top of the roof.
Screaming would only be a waste of energy and effort.
And so Shang Ruohai stopped resisting and endured the humiliation until the boys had enough.
No matter how vicious they were, Shang Ruohai was still Shang Xiaoyi’s second son. They wouldn’t dare hurt him for real.
As Shang Ruohai predicted, they stopped after only five minutes.
Shang Ruohai’s lack of resistance gave them the creep. They thought they had seriously wounded the younger boy and feared the consequences.
"Hey, hey, he’s still alive, right?" One of them asked nervously.
"Of course. Look, he is still breathing."
Shang Ruohai closed his eyes. Relief barely flooded his heart when a vicious kick landed on his stomach, causing him to curl up in pain.
"Uff..."
"Heh."
Shang Ruohan’s tall form towered over him, his face pulled into a mocking sneer.
The pamphlet was torn into shreds and strewn in front of Shang Ruohai’s face while he was lying on the ground, covered in dust.
"Better stop dreaming," he said. "I am the heir of CNC Studio. I have enough connections to ruin your chances. You and your mother will forever live in the darkness, and never again see the light."
"..."
The bullies left, cackling with laughter.
Shang Ruohai slowly clawed into the ground and pushed himself up.
That was the last push he needed.
As soon as he returned home that afternoon, he declared his willingness to participate in the talent recruitment competition.
Naturally, his mother was more than ecstatic over Shang Ruohai’s newfound determination.
Meanwhile, miles away from the house Shang Ruohai shared with his mother, a young man named Feng Jieyun was hunched over his desk at Yunhuan Entertainment’s headquarters.
His eyes were strained, his brows furrowed in concentration as he scanned one document after another.
Although the talent recruitment competition was supposed to be a combined effort of all entertainment companies, there was an unspoken agreement to burden the youngest executives with the boring and yet necessary tasks.
Since Feng Jieyun, the heir of Yunhuan Entertainment, happened to be the youngest executive of all in need of training, his father was more than happy to put him in charge of said pesky tasks.
With the weight of finalizing the last details for the talent recruitment competition resting on his shoulders, Feng Jieyun had been working late into the night for the past few weeks.
Thankfully, his hard work paid off.
Tonight, he could finally finish his job. Heavens knew how impatient he was to move on to more challenging and rewarding endeavors.
Before he went home, Feng Jieyun decided to go through the participants’ files one last time.
His eyes immediately snagged upon a photograph of a particularly handsome young man.
He was very young in age, only sixteen years old. Unlike other participants who smiled into the camera, he chose to present his cold and aloof demeanor.
Some people might find him arrogant, but Feng Jieyun found him somewhat enticing.
He had a star quality, so Feng Jieyun mused.
But that was not the most important thing here.
For some reason, Feng Jieyun was strongly convinced that he had seen this sixteen-year-old young man somewhere before.
Where, though?
The talent recruitment competition was geared toward recruiting fresh faces who had never before graced the silver screen in any way.
Those who had already stepped foot in the entertainment industry, regardless of their flourishing success or stagnant career, were not supposed to participate at all.
Fearing a cheating attempt, Feng Jieyun pressed on a button on his desk phone and summoned his secretary.
"Yes, Eldest Young Master Feng?" The secretary asked upon entering Feng Jieyun’s office space.
"This person is suspicious," Feng Jieyun said as he slid Shang Ruohai’s filecase across his desk. "I need more information about him."
The secretary quickly came back with the information Feng Jieyun requested, only that said young man, Shang Ruohai, was truly a blank slate with no footprints in the entertainment industry.
Feng Jieyun furrowed his brows in confusion.
"Wait... Shang Ruohai. Shang..."
Feng Jieyun blinked in sheer disbelief.
Surely it wasn’t a coincidence that he shared Shang Xiaoyi’s surname?
Then again, Shang Xiaoyi did have a son, but to his knowledge, that atrocious son of his was named Shang Ruohan. He was definitely not as good-looking as Shang Ruohai.
More investigation followed, after which Feng Jieyun was finally able to deduce Shang Ruohai’s origin. freewebnøvel.coɱ
"Interesting," he remarked to himself afterward.
Shang Xiaoyi’s eldest son was a lazy young man who exhibited zero potential despite his advantageous familial background and excellent upbringing.
This was a fact known by many, specifically the younger executives who had the misfortune of knowing Shang Ruohan in person.
Shang Xiaoyi’s second son from his second wife, on the other hand, was the total opposite. He even went as far as walking into a talent recruitment competition, determined to carve his path in the entertainment industry.
If he performed well, maybe Yunhuan Entertainment could serve as a safe haven to unleash his whole potential.
The question was rather -- what did Shang Xiaoyi think about this bold move?
