She Asks for a Divorce Again-Chapter 61 - Craving
Chapter 61: Chapter 61 Craving
Pei Yansi’s movements paused for a moment. He laughed audibly and, ignoring her words, lit a cigarette before speaking with a cold voice, “You took a trip to the hospital and really grew bolder. Not only are you meddling with my arrangements for Shengsheng, but now you even want to manage my smoking.”
Shen Heyu smelled the smoke at the corner of her eyes, furrowed her brows tightly, covered her stomach, turned over, and refused to look at him.
From her silhouette, he saw a hint of spite. He flicked his cigarette ash and said mercilessly, “Just because I took you to the hospital once, do you think you can control everything now?”
Shen Heyu didn’t speak. In her heart, she felt it was right not to have told him about the pregnancy.
Otherwise, she wouldn’t have been able to leave him completely.
But his actions now only increased her desire to divorce.
...
Pei Yansi didn’t hear her reply and lost interest in the conversation. He stubbed out the unfinished cigarette and entered the bathroom.
Not long after, he came out and slept beside Shen Heyu.
The two of them lay a great distance apart, like two strangers sharing a bed, making the scene look strange no matter how one saw it.
The next morning, Shen Heyu got up early, needing to go to the company.
As she was going downstairs, the old lady eagerly waved her over, “Heyu, come quickly. Today, the nutritionist made your favorite chicken shred porridge.”
Shen Heyu didn’t feel very hungry and said, “I have urgent work at the company, so I’ll skip breakfast this morning.”
Just as she finished speaking, she heard Pei Yansi, sitting on the other side of the dining table, let out a cold laugh, “Earlier, when you were leaving work early, you used to say it was the husband’s company; how come you don’t recognize it now?”
“Come and eat,” he said, not wanting the news of her poor nutrition to get out. Even if it didn’t, it would be embarrassing for him.
Listening to his commanding tone, Shen Heyu didn’t insist anymore and took a seat as far from him as possible.
Pei Yansi saw her sit so far away and let out another cold laugh out of irritation.
Shen Heyu had just sat down when the auntie brought her the chicken shred porridge. It was still steaming hot, but for some reason, the porridge that usually smelled so fragrant now gave off a disgusting odor.
She couldn’t hold back for a moment and covered her mouth, almost throwing up.
Seeing this, Pei Yansi’s gaze grew even colder, and he said in a stern voice, “You look down on the nutritionist I hired that much?”
“No,” Shen Heyu tried to explain, “I…ugh…” Before she could finish, she covered her chest and ran straight into the bathroom.
Pei Yansi frowned tightly, his appetite lost from her antics. He threw down his chopsticks and took the initiative to follow her into the bathroom, where he saw her bent over the sink as if she was trying to vomit out her heart and lungs.
He found it strange but still went over and patted her back, “What’s the matter with you? Didn’t the doctor take good care of you yesterday?”
After patting her back twice, Shen Heyu felt better. She turned on the tap and splashed water on her face to wash it. In truth, she hadn’t thrown up anything…
It was just dry heaving.
She shook her head, not wanting to talk to him. Seeing her refusal to communicate, Pei Yansi was quite annoyed but ultimately said nothing.
He turned away, his appetite for food gone, and sat on the sofa to check his work emails, while Shen Heyu also came out of the bathroom.
The old lady’s eyes lit up, “Heyu, you can’t possibly be pregnant, can you?”
Shen Heyu was startled by her words and glanced subconsciously at Pei Yansi, who showed no reaction and was focused on what he held in his hands. She breathed a sigh of relief inwardly.
She explained, “No, it’s just that I felt a bit nauseous on an empty stomach this early in the morning smelling the meaty porridge.”
The old lady looked disappointed, “Have some breakfast before you leave. Take the matter of having a grandson to heart; it’s been such a long time, and I can hardly wait.”
Shen Heyu didn’t take the bait, but this time she didn’t feel so nauseous and managed to drink two bowls of the light porridge.
After breakfast, Shen Heyu went to the garage, intending to drive herself to the office, but Pei Yansi stopped her, “Take my ride.”
She hadn’t even had time to refuse when Pei Yansi had already turned and gotten into his Cayenne.
Yet he didn’t close the rear door, looking at her through the open door, his gaze commanding and brooking no refusal.
She walked forward and finally got in. As soon as she settled down, the driver raised the partition inside the car.
The car slowly left the old mansion.
Shen Heyu subconsciously moved closer to the car door, trying to keep her distance from Pei Yansi, but just as the car had passed the family home, the man’s hand still reached out to her, grabbed her wrist, and directly pulled her into his embrace.
Shen Heyu, caught off guard, let out a low gasp and was forcefully pulled onto his lap.
Before she could react, she felt a warm, large palm cover her lower abdomen.
Pei Yansi caressed her abdomen with a languid gesture, his movements so slow they were eerie.
Confronting his meaningful look, Shen Heyu felt a chill run up her spine.
She thought, how could he have shown no reaction when she was sitting in the living room at the time.

He gazed deeply into her eyes and said, “Pregnant?”
Shen Heyu frowned, stubbornly saying, “No.”
“Oh?” Pei Yansi raised an eyebrow, his hand still moving around her abdomen, and asked, “Then what did the doctor say yesterday? And where is the medical record?”
Shen Heyu looked down, unsure of what to say.
Pei Yansi quietly observed her expression. “You’re pregnant, why didn’t you tell me?” Did he, as her husband, not even have the right to know?
Shen Heyu said, “I thought you wouldn’t care and was planning to take care of it myself. I didn’t want to bother you with such a trivial matter.”
“Take care of it? Did you ask for my opinion?” Pei Yansi’s voice was cold, his eyes filled with a chilling light. “Don’t you know how much grandma is looking forward to its arrival?”
“This is between the two of us.”
Pei Yansi pondered over her words, quickly catching the key point, his tone growing even colder, “What, you want to get rid of it yourself and then get a divorce from me with a clean break?”
She didn’t expect him to hit the nail on the head so abruptly.
She thought she would feel embarrassed, not knowing how to face the situation, but to her surprise, she was calmer than she had anticipated, calmly saying, “Yes. Pei Yansi, let’s get a divorce.”
Pei Yansi scoffed, looking at her indifferent demeanor, “You can even bring yourself to harm your own flesh and blood; no wonder you were so ruthless towards Shen Fanshuang back then.”
“You’ve impressed me.”
“Go ahead if you want. Make sure to keep it a secret from grandma. But let me tell you, I agree to you doing it only because I think you’re not worthy of bearing my, Pei Yansi’s, child.”
“It’s not an agreement to your divorce. Even if you go through with it, I will not let you go.”
Shen Heyu listened to his words, feeling a pang of pain in her heart.
She wasn’t worthy of carrying his child.
She bowed her head, “Then I’ll do it.”
Pei Yansi casually pushed her to the other side, his face expressionless, his eyes cold as he slowly spoke two words, “Your choice.”
Shen Heyu took a deep breath.
She knew it would come to this.
