Shrouded Seascape-Chapter 1106. Time
Chapter 1106. Time
Despite the terrifying and appalling sight, Sparkle wasn't afraid at all. Instead, her heart was engulfed with boundless warmth.
She reached out to the mass of flesh and blood to gently pluck an eyeball about the same size as her colossal form. Then, she held the eyeball in her arms. She was truly delighted. Her daddy was destined to die, but he ended up defying that destiny and survived.
He was still alive!
While Sparkle was rejoicing, a faint sorrow pervaded the surroundings; Lily and Sparkle's mood instantly plummeted as if the emotion had resonated with them.
"Daddy? Are you sad? Why are you sad?"
Edikth remained silent. More and more flesh and blood rushed out of Him as he embraced them tightly and forcefully.
The direct, physical contact with Edikth's tentacles made Sparkle fall silent for a while. Then, she seemed to have understood something as she hugged Edikth tight and wallowed in that faint sorrow together with him.
"Daddy, it's great to see you alive..."
Meanwhile, Lily sensed that something had been added to her mind. Upon closer inspection, she discovered that it was a bunch of knowledge about how to control time.
The knowledge was much more streamlined than Lily had expected, and she could make use of it without transforming into a similar entity as 010.
Lily and Sparkle's minds were still connected, so everything they obtained would be shared between the two of them. In other words, just as Lily learned the method to control time, Sparkle became aware of it as well.
"Now that we can travel through time, can we go look for Mommy, Daddy? Let's leave this hopeless place together with her," Sparkle suggested.
Edikth's eyes froze. He seemed to be trying His best to remember something, but in the end, He faded away, leaving behind Sparkle and Lily.
Edikth had left as mysteriously as He had appeared, leaving the two stunned. They couldn't grasp His intentions at all.
Just then, the two finally noticed that they were no longer in a void full of nothingness. They had gone back in time, and it was proven by how the rock layer overhead and the sea had returned to where they were supposed to be.
"Was that really Mr. Charles? Why did he not talk to us?" Lily asked. Edikth's departure without saying even a word made Lily feel troubled.
Meanwhile, Sparkle was already satisfied with the fact that Charles was going to remain alive in the distant future. Of course, she also had no idea as to why Edikth had remained silent.
"Don't think too much about it. Since we managed to obtain something, let's go back as soon as possible. I think we've just obtained the key to Daddy's survival in the upcoming apocalypse."
"What about the others? What about the humans? Mr. Charles cares a lot about them, so what will happen to them? What about Hope Island? My parents? And what about the entire universe?"
Lily obviously cared about a lot more things than Sparkle.
"We shouldn't think about that for now. Anyway, Daddy is still alive. Daddy's going to take care of everything as long as he's still alive. Our priority is to go back to that timeline. Don't forget that Fhtagn is awake right now," Sparkle reminded.
Lily was so astonished by Sparkle's words that she shuddered. Then, she wasted no time and turned back time to leave their current timeline.
As time moved backward, the devastated rock layer up above healed rapidly, and the shallow Subterranean Sea became extremely deep once again.

As Charles was still acting as the plug to the only passageway between the Core and the Subterranean Sea, he had to use his human fleshly body to stare at his creations.
They were headless spherical fleshly bodies with six pairs of wings on both sides.
These entities were going to act as scouts, so they were created with durability and nothing but durability in mind. They were so durable that they could even withstand Charles' attacks.
In exchange, these creations possessed neither senses nor intelligence. The sole reason behind their existence was to fly to the Core, get as close to 002 as possible, and hopefully make it back to tell the tale.
Even though these things possessed no senses nor intelligence, they just had to make it back to the Subterranean Sea, and Charles could acquire the information that he needed from their afterimages.
"Protect them with all you have, and remember to get them as close to 002 as possible. The closer, the better. You weren't close enough the last time," Charles said to the three-headed Feathered Serpent in front of him.
Charles' other offspring stood behind the three-headed Feathered Serpent, and their heads were lowered in submission. Their visual organs had been removed, and their job was to deal with any danger before they could start making their way to 002.
Charles waved his hand lightly, and the three-headed Feathered Serpent took to the sky, taking everyone away with her. In no time, they made it to the tunnel that seemed to be made out of flesh and blood.
Charles had opened it beforehand, allowing them entry into the Core.
Just then, Charles felt two figures pouncing on him from behind.
One of them was a gorgeous woman, and she looked thrilled as she hugged Charles from behind. Three tentacles sprouted from the ground and supported Charles, stabilizing him before he could fall to the ground.
"How many times do I have to tell you that physical touch such as hugging is a human being's gesture of goodwill? It is unnecessary for us," Charles said, reaching out to remove them from his back.
"Mr. Charles, we found a solution! If we trap you in a time loop, your time will be extended indefinitely," Lily exclaimed excitedly while hugging Charles' steel arm to her chest.
"I have long discussed that with my other selves. We don't have enough time to grasp the knowledge of time."
"No, no!" Sparkle shook her head. "It's not like that. Lily has already mastered time, and she can use her ability to control time on you."
"You..." Charles turned toward them and was surprised to find that there weren't any afterimages of the future around them.
"What exactly did you guys do?" Charles asked.
Lily and Sparkle quickly recounted everything that had happened to Charles. Upon learning that he was still alive in the future, Charles was even more shocked than them.
I'm still alive? If I'm still alive, does that mean I just watched the world end? Did I not do anything to prevent it? Or have I settled everyone down somewhere else? Charles pondered. He was more interested in what exactly his future self had done than the fact that Lily had obtained mastery over time.
"Daddy! Let's go and try it! Maybe it's the key to your survival!" Sparkle urged impatiently. Having found a solution to ensure Charles' survival, Sparkle was understandably raring for him to try it.
"Lily has already learned to control time, so what's the rush? I need to think about it very carefully."
Charles froze in place, and the eyes in his eye sockets disappeared as well.
"What happened to Mr. Charles?" Lily asked, sounding concerned at the bizarre sight.
Sparkle hopped and sat on her father's shoulder. At the moment, Charles was like an immovable statue. "What else could it be? He must have decided to meet with those daddies from different planes. He probably thinks that it's too rash and risky to use that solution as it is, so he decided to talk to them first."
