SIGNING IN: BEING SHOWERED BY HEAVENLY BLESSINGS FOR FIVE YEARS-Chapter 627 - 625: A TALK BETWEEN BROS
Chapter 627: Chapter 625: A TALK BETWEEN BROS
Wyatt and his group of friends didn’t go home but dropped by a certain club owned by an acquaintance.
They didn’t go to the public area but booked a private room. With some wine and other alcohol and snacks, the five were ready for a chat that they were forced to have because of Diamond.
Some held glasses of champagne, red wine, and white wine, and the other two had whisky.
Wyatt, holding a glass of whisky, lazily swirled the glass as he looked at Mike, who had shocked him the most today and asked, "Mike, are you really certain about what you want to do?"
Mike took a sip of the wine he was holding and smiled faintly at Wyatt. "Um. I have never been serious about anything in my life and this is it."
"Can you handle the pressure?"
"I will try. Without trying, how can I say I can’t," he said sighingly before downing the glass contents at once and wiping his lips before adding, "Aren’t you tired guys?" his gaze darkened as his tone was lowered.
The other four flinched as they got what he was saying. They felt pricked.
"It’s been weighing on my mind for a long time. Every time I see them gathered in groups, talking about business or this. Whenever they snide, smirk, or look at us in such a derogatory manner. Every single time all I think is raising my fist and giving them a punch and yet because of the shackles placed on me, I can’t even do a thing.
For crying out loud, we are all above twenty-seven but do we have any wife candidate who we can say is actually suited for us?" Mike chuckled mockingly as he looked at the boys who had been with him for over a decade.
"We have no such thing. Even if we do, it would be the family making decisions for us and making connections with others. Only then can we be useful.
We don’t have any sort of freedom or rights and, on top of that, we can’t even pursue a single dream.
I grew up hearing that I mustn’t even dare think about it and that I should accept the hand downs. Yes, it’s fine getting it. After all, I am fortunate, unlike other people out there. But are we really content?
We are getting old with each passing second. I don’t want to live like a coward anymore. I might lose everything, but at least I will get myself back."
When the other four heard that, they couldn’t help but think about their lives as well. They all shared one thing in common: their illegitimacy. The children who weren’t added to the family tree.
All five of them still carried their mothers’ last names and that on its own showed the attitude of their families towards them.
Until when were they going to remain like this?
Wyatt, at this moment, couldn’t help but think about Nolan. With what his family was like, and how he had been hiding his true abilities and making himself more of a waste, would he be able to protect Nolan if he let’s say agreed to be with him?
Maybe Diamond and Mike were right. Rather than living like cowards all the time, maybe it was time to rise up. They weren’t getting any younger in the end.
Wyatt sighed as he took a sip of his whisky before he looked at Mike and nodded in agreement.
"I agree with you on this. I guess that we really can’t live like this. There is so much at stake that we can lose. Only by becoming independent and being courageous can we get what we want."
He was also tired of having people talk behind his back. He might be attractive and look like a catch, but once those scions reveal his status, all would change.
He didn’t want that to continue happening. It wasn’t just for his own sake, but for other people who mean much to him as well.
"Then what should we do?"
"For now, I think that we need to develop secretly without causing any fuss. Diamond is a perfect shield. No one would believe that we can rely on a girl or that she would help us."
"That’s true. I received a message from that nosy sister of mine and all she was talking about was if I was pursuing Diamond and how I am a frog lusting after a swan."
"Hehe, she is still as foul-mouthed as ever."
"If they all have the same thoughts, then it might work."
"But won’t she mind?"
"Does she look like someone who cares about something like that?"
"I guess we will play it by the ear."
"You do have the capital, right?"
"How can I not? I have been saving money since I was eighteen in my secret account. I have quite a lot."
"That’s good. We can start from there."
"Until we are strong enough, for now, we lay it low."
"When do you plan to start?"
"I want to do some research first and then see what to do."
"I don’t need much research or funds; the place is already there for me. Fortunately, none of the family members keep an eye on me anymore."
The five friends started discussing their future confidently and with stars sparkling in their eyes.
Although it remained uncertain what the future would be like. For now, they were happy to see this unfold.
After the talk was done, the five friends journeyed towards their home, which was the Garden View Villa complex with ease.
When Wyatt arrived home, he couldn’t help but call Nolan. He felt like he needed to talk to him to end this day perfectly.
So many things had happened and having his courage and cheer would make him feel invigorated and motivated.
Ring. Ring. Ring.
The phone rang for a while and when he was about to give up [Hello,] that voice he loved hearing rang in his ears.
As soon as he heard it, a smile blossomed across his face, with all the gloominess vanishing.
It was great hearing the voice of the person he loved and wanted to protect the most.
One day, he shall stand next to him without faltering or fear.
As he spoke with Nolan that night, he couldn’t help but be grateful to Diamond. Without her words today, he would still remain in his shell, and that might prove dangerous in the future.
Surely this proved to be true, as his path wasn’t going to be an easy one.
But that was something in the future.
