Sir, Please Sign Here to Get a Divorce-Chapter 164: Brothers, Where Are You?
After hanging up the video call with Raina, Serena Yardley couldn’t get the name Zoe Montgomery out of her head.
She finally managed to fall asleep, only to have an extremely bizarre dream.
In the dream, she was in a magnificent, opulent palace, a strip of cloth blindfolding her eyes. The sweet, gentle voices of several young boys echoed around her.
"Zoe, over here! Third Brother is over here."
"Zoe, Second Brother is behind you."
"Zoe, stop playing. Big Brother is here."
Hearing this, the three-year-old girl stood in the center of the grand hall and reached up to pull off her blindfold.
For some reason, she was surrounded by a blinding white light. She couldn’t see anything clearly, only hear them calling her name over and over.
"Zoe..."
"Zoe Montgomery?"
"Little Zoe, come on out! Stop playing hide-and-seek."
"Little Zoe, if you don’t come out, Big Brother is going to spank you."
"Brothers..."
The little girl called out in a tiny, childish voice, heading toward the blinding white light, trying to find her brothers.
But the farther she walked, the fainter their calls became. She was terrified and started to cry.
"Brothers, I’m here! Zoe is here! Where are you, Brothers..."
"Brothers..."
Serena Yardley woke with a start, drenched in sweat.
She sat up, her heart still pounding, and stared blankly for a long time.
After a while, she finally realized it had just been a strange dream.
In the dream, there were so many people around her, endlessly calling out a name.
But when she tried to recall the dreamscape again, she couldn’t remember a thing.
Just then, the bedroom door was pushed open.
Serena looked up to see Sophia Quinn walk in, poised and regal. She smiled and asked,
"Serena, you’re awake. Did you sleep well last night?"
Serena Yardley forced a smile and nodded.
Sophia Quinn reached out to smooth her slightly messy hair. "Serena, you haven’t been feeling well lately, have you?"
"I’m alright."
’After finding out Ethan had someone on the side, her mood had certainly soured. Now that they were separated, she had no idea what he was doing out there, messing around with other women. The thought just made her feel even worse.’
"In that case, why don’t you come out with me to clear your head?"
Serena asked her, "Are we going shopping?"
"No. Do you remember Gabriel Galloway?"
Serena Yardley frowned, a look of suspicion on her face.
Sophia Quinn explained,
"You know Gabriel Galloway? He’s your Madam Cecilia’s younger brother, so you should call him Grand-uncle.
Ahem, his generational title is a bit high, I know. Anyway, he’s getting engaged, and your Madam Cecilia invited us over for a couple of days. Think of it as a trip to relax and get a change of scenery?"
Serena Yardley was speechless.
She knew Gabriel Galloway was Madam Cecilia’s younger brother.
’She seemed to recall that she had lost her previous baby because of him, didn’t she?’
’She couldn’t quite remember the specifics of what happened.’
The thought of Ethan Yardley was enough to annoy her.
She refused, "Mom, I think I’ll pass. I’ll just stay here for a couple of days and then go back to The Sovereign Villa."
"Please come. Just think of it as keeping me company, alright?"
Sophia Quinn knew that pregnancy could affect one’s mood and thought it might be good to take Serena out to see the world and broaden her horizons.
With no other choice, Serena Yardley reluctantly nodded in agreement.
"Alright. When are we going?"
"Since you’ve agreed, how about this afternoon?"
Serena was a bit taken aback. "So soon? Don’t you need to apply for passports and visas to go abroad?"
Sophia Quinn laughed. "Our family has a private jet. We can have them sort out the documents later. Besides, your Madam Cecilia’s family is the Royal Family of Eldoria. They have special privileges, so we don’t need visas."
"Oh."
’Serena hadn’t expected Gabriel Galloway to have such a noble status.’
’A descendant of the Royal Family of Eldoria. It sounded so impressive.’
Seeing that Serena had agreed, Sophia Quinn immediately had people make the arrangements to fly to Eldoria that afternoon.
...
「Meanwhile, at Serene Empire Group.」
Yannick Young pushed open the door to the CEO’s office, handed over a file, and reported,
"This Vivian Lynch, I found something wrong with her communication records. She occasionally contacts an overseas number. I had someone check the location of the number, and it belongs to Miss Schuyler."
The man, who had been buried in his work at the computer, looked up at Yannick Young. "Sylvia Schuyler?"
"Yes. In fact, the two of them had a call just two days ago. I also had our contacts at the bank take a look, and Vivian Lynch has received several wire transfers from Sylvia Schuyler, with amounts ranging from tens of thousands to over a hundred thousand."
Ethan Yardley was silent.
’So, this Vivian Lynch was actually one of Sylvia Schuyler’s people.’
’After he had exiled Sylvia, she must have harbored a grudge.’
’He just hadn’t expected her to buy off Vivian Lynch to act as her spy.’
’Was her goal to turn his life completely upside down?’
His face darkening, Ethan Yardley ordered,
"Have someone watch Vivian Lynch 24/7. See what their next move is. When it’s time for a DNA test, send her directly to the hospital to get one."
’If the child in her belly wasn’t his, then that woman wasn’t far from death’s door.’
’He had been a fool to fall into her trap. He was clearly too soft on women, which was why they dared to plot against him so brazenly.’
"Yes, sir."
Yannick Young withdrew, and Ethan Yardley stared at his computer again, lost in thought.
...
That same day, Sophia Quinn took Serena Yardley and flew to Eldoria.
When they arrived in Eldoria, due to the time difference, the sun was just beginning to rise.
Gabriel Galloway’s sister, Lady Cecilia, came to welcome them personally. When she saw Serena, Cecilia Galloway’s eyes filled with a smile as she presented her with Eldoria’s grandest welcoming gift.
This was Serena’s first time abroad, and she was meeting her grandfather-in-law’s wife.
She felt a little shy.
This Lady Cecilia was only in her forties, but she was so well-maintained and her makeup so exquisite that she looked as young and beautiful as a woman in her early thirties.
Sophia Quinn was more than ten years her senior, yet she had to address her as "Aunt."
’Perhaps the Yardley men’s preference for younger wives was hereditary.’
"Serena, you must be exhausted after sitting on a plane for so many hours, aren’t you?"
Leading Serena to a seat in the sedan, Cecilia Galloway held her hand and smiled with kindness and grace.
Serena shook her head demurely. "It was fine. I’m not tired."
"She’s pregnant, you know, so she hasn’t been in the best spirits. I thought I’d bring her here for a change of scenery,"
Sophia Quinn said from the side.
Cecilia Galloway nodded in understanding. "Pregnant women do tend to overthink things. It’s good to get out and about more. This is your first time here, isn’t it, Serena? I’ll have Raina show you around later."
"Thank you, Grandma."
Serena Yardley replied politely.
"Pfft—"
Cecilia Galloway couldn’t help but laugh. "Technically, you calling me Grandma isn’t wrong, but I feel like it makes me sound so old. How about you just call me by my name, Serena?"
Serena looked up at the elder beside her and quickly shook her head. "I can’t do that."
"Alright. People from your country place great importance on formalities. If you like calling me Grandma, then go ahead."
Looking at Sophia Quinn, Cecilia Galloway said, "You’ve both had a long journey. I’ve arranged for suites for you to rest. You can relax first and then explore at your leisure."
"Yes."
Sophia Quinn and her family had always been very respectful toward their patriarch’s young wife.
On the way from the royal airfield to the Galloway Family estate, Serena noticed they had a military escort the entire way. Sitting in the stretched limousine, she felt it was all very grand.
This area seemed to be a coastal region, and the beautiful scenery of the blue sea and sky put her in a particularly good mood.
