Sky-cracking Rider-Chapter 803: Section 798 - Reunion
A pair of enormous blade wings fully extended, blocking out the sky and the sun, as well as the yellow sand falling like a torrential rain. Each sharp edge of the blade wings was comparable to a divine weapon, radiating a chilling aura, accompanied by a long, nerve-wracking resonance within a hundred meters.
The hideous head opened its massive maw, unleashing the long-prepared blue-white death beams without reservation, sweeping around in a 360-degree arc. The beams, filled with immense penetrating power, cut through the horizon, slicing countless monsters caught off guard, right through their bodies.
In the next second, they tumbled, wailed, fled in panic, or fell silent.
In the distance, clusters of bright fireballs rapidly expanded, forming terrifying mushroom clouds along with billowing smoke. Counting them, there were over a dozen, forming a large encirclement.
Such an ominous scene became the horrifying backdrop for the newly appeared "monster" that had just escaped death, like the advent of doomsday.
Boom...
The deafening explosion arrived belatedly, sweeping winds and flying sand filling the sky.
An invisible force field spread out, forming a barrier with a hundred-meter diameter, blocking the shockwave and its residual power completely outside.
The members of the Fuji Security Group who had withdrawn from Aircrew Base 223 were all silent, their gazes fixated on the terrifying, metal-glossed beast that had instantly slain the "Godzilla" monster. The ancient demonic figure on its back made everyone involuntarily stand on end, swallowing hard collectively.
"Is this... a giant dragon?"
"A Metallic Dragon? Dragon Knight?"
"Could it be the 'Master of the Sky'?"
There was only one person in the world, the last Dragon Knight ever, or rather the only Metallic Dragon Knight in history.
"Lord of the Sky, Lin Mo!"
But... how could insignificant people like them possibly have a connection with such a personage?
Even though nearly a hundred sovereign states now had joint bounties on the Lin family, especially a huge bounty on the "Master of the Sky," the public harbored no ill will towards the "Master of the Sky" and the Lin family, unaffected by the media's deliberate agitation.
After all, thirty years ago, it was this man who single-handedly decided the outcome of the Three Realms War. As a living legend, his reputation among the people remains undiminished, so much so that no one, neither individuals nor organizations, had moved an inch for the bounty, ignoring it completely.
There were those tempted by the fortune, but they were all insignificant figures with no real abilities, hearts willing but hands powerless.
The demonic figure leapt down from the back of the sinister giant dragon, and only then did everyone notice that his height was unlike a human, standing two stories tall, perfectly proportionate to the dragon he rode.
Crack!
The chest armor of the fully armed "Giant" cracked open, revealing a compact cabin.
"Long time no see, Mouri!"
Chen Fei peeked out from the cockpit of the "Dragon King" assault-type combat mobile armor, greeting the almost half-buried ground operations section chief of the Fuji Security Group.
The mass and density of flesh and blood could not compare to steel muscles and iron bones. The Godzilla-sized monster had been easily knocked over by the combined mass and acceleration of the mechanical dragon and combat mobile armor, and if not for its solid body, its upper half would have been torn apart in the process.
But now, whether this monster was dead or alive... Who-Care?
"Eh? Eh eh eh eh!!! 'Rookie'!!!"
Mouri Misono, covered in sand and dust, exclaimed in surprise as the sand fell off her.
Her colleagues looked at each other in confusion. The visitor was not the "Master of the Sky" Lin Mo but someone else who apparently knew the section chief.
"Long time no see!"
Chen Fei leapt down from the chest cockpit of the giant mobile armor, approaching his former comrades.
"Why are you here?"
Section Chief Mouri seemed to revert to the shy and easily embarrassed little girl she once was, completely lacking the decisive demeanor she usually had as the section chief.
Presiding over operations in Africa isn't easy without some grit and authority.
"I received your distress signal!"
Chen Fei looked around; the others were in no better shape than Mouri-san, struggling out of the sand like resurrected mummies, looking miserable.
Mouri Misono asked puzzledly, "Are you still with the 'Bear Hunting Special Operations Division'?"
She remembered Chen Fei was one of the first members to complete the mission and leave Hablav City.
"Of course not, the 'Bear Hunting Special Operations Division' has long completed its mission." Chen Fei waved off, continuing, "As you can see, this is another job!"
He identified the direction, pointing far away, "I came for that black cloud."
The Joint Defense Committee seemed to have other plans, intending to study the black vortex cloud thoroughly instead of eliminating it immediately.
Chen Fei didn't care how the sovereigns planned to handle the cloud continuously spawning monsters, whether they ignored it or used an Element Annihilation Bomb to destroy it, as long as they didn't mess it up.
One black vortex cloud posed no threat to Blue Star, but once their numbers increased, quantity would bring qualitative change, becoming another issue entirely.
Boss Hana had once analyzed that this vortex cloud was probably a probing attempt. After locating Blue Star, the next time wouldn't be as polite. So, he hoped the Blue Star Global United Defense Committee could come up with some results.
"I see!"
Mouri Misono nodded but then dropped to the ground in a full prostration, shouting, "Thank you very much, Chen-kun, for saving our lives."
Falling to one's knees and bowing wasn't just a traditional skill but also represented her heartfelt gratitude.
Not just Mouri Misono; other employees followed suit, all prostrating in gratitude.
After all, a life-saving grace deserves genuine thanks.
A few others, seriously bowing, adhered to the non-kneeling policy, showing their respect.
"Hmm, consider your intentions received. Please rise, everyone! Please rise!"
Heaven, Earth, sovereign, and teacher, unless dead, Chen Fei would not kneel in return, for it was inauspicious.
Mouri Misono stood up, shaking off the sand, still trembling, "If it weren't for you, this time it'd be certain death."
Her gaze passed over Chen Fei, landing on the two massive machines, her mouth twitching in envy, "The Joint Defense Committee sure is lavish, giving you such combat weapons."
Mushroom clouds still hadn't dissipated afar, and the giant dragon and humanoid combat mobile armor were deterring any leftover monsters, ensuring everyone's safety on site.
"You think too much, the Joint Defense Committee isn't that generous!"
Chen Fei pouted. To be fair, aside from providing food, lodging, transportation, and a bit more allowance, the Blue Star Global United Defense Committee didn't offer anything good.
"Then what about these? The dragon! You're a Dragon Knight now?"
After months without seeing him, Mouri Misono couldn't believe Chen Fei was involved in such high-end activities.
Driving combat mobile armor and riding a dragon—just looking was exhilarating.
"Dragon Knight, my ass. Sky Dragon City wouldn't allow it. That's not a dragon either; it's a combat mobile armor, the latest conceptual armament sponsored by Louis Industrial Company. The other one was my own tinkering."
Chen Fei was clear-headed. Despite once riding a dragon, and even a Metallic Dragon at that, it was more playful than serious.
If he took it seriously, the dragons would come knocking. Dragon Knights might be gone, but Metallic Dragons had evolved and Silver Dragon Enforcement Squad still existed, wielding the power to judge, execute, and officially recognized by the Silan Dynasty.
Anger Sky Dragon City, and no matter where you hide, even in chaotic temporal flux, they'll drag you out and finish you off.
Chen Fei gave a glance to the mechanical dragon. Under the AI "Adam's" control, the behemoth struck a pose, raising its sharp tail spear and piercing the monster's body underneath. A muffled roar followed; the Godzilla-sized body shuddered violently, gradually stiffening until it died thoroughly.
The sharp tail tip, having penetrated deep into the monster, released a large amount of high-pressure gas, forcefully tearing a massive cavity, and pumping gas into its circulatory system, causing wide-scale gas embolism, dooming the monster regardless of its intact surface.
"If you hadn't said anything, I would have really thought it was a Metallic Dragon. Seems you've got benefactors."
Mouri Misono recalled Chen Fei's past in Hablav's outskirts, scavenging trash to build a mobile base vehicle. ƒreewebɳovel.com
Without external help, relying on oneself, dealing with second-hand goods involved much effort, far more so than taking something ready-made.
Connecting with the Louis Consortium and obtaining such significant support would indeed stir envy.
"Of course, everything comes at a price. There's no such thing as a free lunch."
Things from big shots aren't easily gained but carry a corresponding price. Yet, Chen Fei didn't mind, staking his life unreservedly.
He noted that in the prophecy, his previous self was likely a nameless small fry, unable to awaken special abilities, and perishing along with the Chen family and siblings at the onset of doomsday.
As the nest falls, so does each egg.
The future Mr. Randon worried about in prophecy was something Chen Fei also feared. Their interests aligned, leading to mutual, unreserved cooperation.
"Besides, the Silan Dynasty also provided plenty of good stuff."
Chen Fei mentioned the gains from Cangqiong Star, contributing to today's Airship Combat Group, though temporarily unavailable now.
