Slime Leveling [Litrpg, Timeloop]-Chapter 204—Extraordinary? Or Coincidence?
In an empty void—
The Creation Goddess manifested as a handsome young man with long, flowing silver hair, clad in white light battle armor, and a young, beautiful woman with long blue hair, clad in blue light armor, were waiting for her.
Glancing at them, the Creation Goddess asked, "What is it you want to know?... Time God and the Goddess of Power."
The Goddess of Power grinned and hugged the Creation Goddess's arm, asking, "As if you don't know, Mother."
The Creation Goddess glanced at Time God. "Even you have the same doubt?"
He nodded. "Yes."
"How is it possible?" the Goddess of Power asked, knitting her brows. "Many kings trained for millions of years. Some had even kept up for billions of years. Yet no one could achieve Mastery Tier 6 or gain a spark of authority—"
Time God cut in, "How did that kid gain it in less than five hundred years?"
He folded his hands. "Many have died and revived endlessly…There are people with resurrection ability. They were killed repeatedly, but they couldn't achieve it."
"Is it a mythic skill?" Time God shook his head. "No. Many kings have it—"
"Or his will to stand up?" the Goddess of Power asked, cutting in.
After a moment, she continued, "His soul broke twice, and he stood up strongly… hence his soul reached the limit of a mortal's.... No. Many have all of that, yet they couldn't achieve it." The Goddess of Power shook her head.
She nudged the Creation Goddess's arm.
With a small smile, the Creation Goddess said, "It's because of a rare coincidence...via his actions."
"Coincidence?" Time God and the Goddess of Power uttered.
"Yes," the Creation Goddess nodded. "To begin with, he had a soul which reached the limit of mortals. Next, his mythic skill acquired a little intellect. And third, an abundant amount of faith. Does any king have these three factors?"
She glared at the duo.
"No king had these three factors," they uttered.
The Time God and the Goddess of Power looked at each other.
"Mythic rank skill and a soul that reached the mortal limit—many have achieved it, but enormous faith? No one did," Time God said.
"To think he already overcame a struggle which will stop every mortal from reaching godhood," the Goddess of Power exclaimed, her eyes gleaming.
"The end result is extraordinary," the Creation Goddess sighed. "But remember: his mind broke twice, and that is the important key. During his penance, it also had a major hand in developing his faith."
"Of course it did," the Goddess of Power nodded. "After all, I was watching."
The Time God recalled when he had cast Rewind. "So it did help him after all."
It was Averon's strong mind that he overcame temptation and held on for more than 100 years, causing his faith to accumulate, which laid the foundation for his godhood.
"If Averon missed any one of the three factors, he wouldn't have gained the spark of authority," the Creation Goddess added.
"So his impulsiveness was correct at the end?" the Goddess of Power exclaimed.
The Creation Goddess's lips turned up, yet her eyes felt dim. "He was indeed impulsive, and he paid heavily. At the end, things turned out good, for him—not because of suffering, but because of his extraordinary will to keep going."
She glared into the void and uttered, "His future self had experienced the same, yet he didn't gain the spark of authority. Didn't he also have the three factors?"
She added with a deep breath, "Future Varient had endured, but for himself."
The Goddess of Power, Time God fell silent.
A ringing silence spread for a while.
The Goddess of Power broke the silence, asking, "What did the current variant of the slime do that was special?"
"Can you guess it, Time God?" The Creation Goddess passed it to Time God.
"No, I cannot," Time God shook his head. "Even now, I cannot sense what kind of authority it is. And in the future timelines I see, he is normal—as if it didn't exist."
The Creation Goddess exhaled heavily and said softly, "The current variant of Averon is someone who didn't give up... He chose others before himself."
"Gave up?" the Goddess of Power and Time God exclaimed.
Before they could ask, the Creation Goddess continued, "Yes. The future variant of Averon kept going, but his goal was to find the solution for his soul injuries. The current one helped out goblins, made the world a little better."
"Miracle event? Did it—," Time God asked, his brows raising.
"No. A miracle event doesn't directly give birth to the authority," the Creation Goddess shook her head.
"Faith," the Goddess of Power said, and both turned towards her. "There are two types of faith, don't they?"
"You got it," the Creation Goddess nodded with appreciation. "Yes. The one that future Averon lacked—the faith, from the people. In the beginning, he did help out Oakfield village and a few others, but he didn't have faith from the people as much as the current variant did."
"I finally got it," Time God's lips raised. "After all, even Holy Sages didn't get the authority from faith."
The Goddess of Power clicked her tongue. "So it was faith from the people missing."
"The faith from both devotion and people, plus a strong soul reaching mortal limit, and lastly a mythic skill coincidentally appearing in the same person... Gave birth to a spark of authority," the Creation Goddess declared.
"Though you still had to intervene, didn't you, Mother?" the Goddess of Power added, frowning.
"Yes. The spark would have died without my Authority of Creation," the Creation Goddess confirmed. "But he's my follower, so I would naturally help him."
In a plain open forest field—
Averon, in humanoid slime form, opened his eyes in front of a five-meter-long black shadow who glared at him with crimson eyes.
"Finally, all trials are cleared." Averon took a deep breath. 'Elder Slime, Mama Slime, and others… I miss them. It has been more than a hundred years since I saw them.'
"Your judgement will be soon," the shadow said, closing his eyes.
In the majestic room—
The black slime asked, "Likin, what do you mean?"
"Didn't you all witness what happened to the goblins?" the bull Demon King snarled. "Giru had survived due to luck, and only he survived. The rest of the goblins had fallen prey to other races... He chose principles."
"Yes, I think he's not worthy to be the king," a minotaur clad in heavy gray armor added, coming to the front. "A king who abandons his race for ideals is not a king. He is a dreamer... Let's vote for his rejection."
Demons fell silent and began to ponder. Some stepped back, and some moved forward.
"I agree."
"How can a king fall out with his people?"
