Slowly Falling into His Love Trap-Chapter 228: I Can’t Help Falling for You
"We were always people from two different worlds!" Cecilia Lynch glared at Julian Keaton, her eyes full of stubbornness. "You’re more aware than I am that we don’t even have to wait for the contract to expire to part ways! Once you get married, we’ll become strangers."
Seeing the devastated look in Julian Keaton’s eyes, Cecilia Lynch clenched her fists, feeling as if a sharp knife had sliced through her heart, causing intense pain.
"You’ve always emphasized to me not to fall for you because you can’t give me anything." Cecilia’s voice caught in her throat. "A man like you would never marry a woman like me. You can’t give me marriage, nor can you give me... love."
Her charming little face remained beautiful and alluring but carried a hint of elegance.
She always reminded herself in her heart that there was a gulf between them that they could never cross, and there was no need to get too involved.
But now, things seemed to be spiraling out of control.
"Yes! Yes, I’ve always stressed our relationship! While warning you, I was also warning myself!" Julian Keaton roared in a low growl. 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞
"But... what to do? Cece, I seem to be unable to do it anymore." He gritted his teeth, his face showing both reluctance and relief. "I can’t keep you out of my life, can’t rationally treat you as just my lover."
He gazed deeply at her, caressing her cheek.
His rough fingertip brushed against her delicate skin, stirring a gentle itch.
She stared at him, motionless, with something lodged in her throat, making it hard for her to breathe.
"When I see others on dates, I can’t help but wonder what it would feel like if we were walking hand in hand down the street; when I see others getting married, I can’t help but wonder what you’d look like in a wedding dress; when I see others with children, I can’t help but wonder if we could have kids too. Cece... I am helplessly drawn to you."
Listening to Julian Keaton’s words, Cecilia Lynch’s eyes went blank.
Her eyes reflected two small images of him, serious and affectionate, and that perfect touch of helplessness left an indelible mark on her heart.
Tears welled up in her eyes, and she repeatedly reminded herself not to cry, never to cry.
But her heart felt as if a thousand ants were gnawing at it, causing unbearable pain.
She hated it so much.
If her family’s background were just a little better, would Julian Keaton have to worry so much?
Back at the villa, Caden Lockwood didn’t stay long. He couldn’t be too willful; he still had to return to the company to handle matters.
Evelyn Morgan was bored at the villa, and when she called Cecilia Lynch, no one answered. She had to temporarily suppress her doubts and wait for a suitable opportunity to ask Cecilia about relationship issues.
Just then, her phone rang.
It was Logan Shaw calling.
She pressed the call button, and before Evelyn could speak, Logan Shaw began, "Evelyn, where are you? Do you have some time? I have something great to show you!"
"I’m at home!" Evelyn replied softly, "What’s the good thing? I’m just bored; where are you? I’ll come over!"
"I’m at the venue," Logan said casually. "I’ll wait for you to come!"
Evelyn acknowledged, hung up the phone, and headed over to Logan’s location.
