SSS Awakening: I Can Steal Attributes-Chapter 12: Desperate
BANG!
The fourth bullet exited the revolver’s barrel, targeting the man’s head.
The man, as if unperturbed, continued charging forward with his skill.
Starting at Tier 1, an Awakened Professional would be able to acquire classes according to their distributed attributes.
Skills corresponding to that class would be available to the Awakened Professional as well.
[Charge] was a common skill for warriors.
The details were available online, and even Desther was a little familiar with it.
It was a skill that allowed the user to move forward in a straight line with quick speed.
It was due to this that Desther had kept his distance from the man.
The [Charge] skill, after all, could only allow its user to dash seven meters.
Even without Lexie’s warning, Desther has already been wary of this skill upon knowing that the man was a Warrior.
The moment he activated the skill, Desther had already pulled the trigger for the fourth bullet.
Charging like a bull, the man arrived in front of Desther almost in an instant.
The fourth bullet hit the man’s forearm as he was using it as a shield.
Arriving in front of Desther, the man swung his fist toward his face. His face was tilted to the side, avoiding the revolver’s muzzle by a slight margin.
If Desther fired another bullet at this time, it would surely miss its target.
Time seemed to slow down in their vision.
The incoming fist did not deter Desther at all. His eyes still glowed toward the man’s ferocious face.
The man smirked, seeing Desther’s face.
Earlier, he was actually worried that Desther would decide to back off. He was already at the limit of his skill’s range, and if he moved back, he would be unable to reach Desther.
By that time, Desther would be able to fire a few more shots. And at such a close range, he knew it would be fatal even for him.
However, in his eyes, Desther was not even able to react to him using the skill, so how could he have had the time to move back?
’Tsk! A mortal kid is still just a mortal kid, after all.’
He thought that Desther was scared silly and was now frozen in the spot.
His massive fist was now before Desther’s face.
No weapon? No problem!
As a Tier 1 Warrior, his fists in themselves can be comparable to a sledgehammer for a mortal kid like Desther.
What he did not know was that, underneath, Desther’s right arm had already moved in advance to intercept his fist.
Knowing a Warrior’s skill in advance, how could he not prepare for the worse?
At the exact moment his face was about to get hit, his right arm had already moved for a parry.
Wind blew on his face; the force of the man’s punch was not to be underestimated either. Even though he successfully blocked it, Desther could still feel that his arm was about to break due to the impact.
However, he had achieved what he wanted to do.
At such a close range, the revolver’s muzzle shifted just a little.
Gritting his teeth and enduring the pain in his right arm, Desther pulled the trigger at point-blank range.
BANG!
BANG!
Two successive gunshots echoed in the area.
Before the man could process what was going on, he suddenly felt his balance going haywire.
Unknowingly, Lexie had already reached his side.
’Shit. I forgot the speed of this brat!’
He suddenly lost all the sensation in his left leg. Whatever Lexie had done, she had succeeded in immobilizing the man, even for a brief period of time.
Desther saw at the corner of his eyes how a blur arrived and punched the man’s hamstring forcefully.
In fact, he was also surprised that Lexie had somehow arrived beside the man all of a sudden.
However, there was no time to think about it. This was an opportunity that he could not miss.
His revolver was already out of bullets; however, he was not out of options.
He let go of the revolver and, with the same fluid motion, took out the dagger from his waist.
The man’s body was leaning sideward; the sudden loss of sensation from his left leg was fatal.
His mind went numb from pain.
Not only from the bullets but also from the sudden force injected into his left hamstring as well.
When the man realized what was going on, a dagger was already descending along with him on the ground.
Another force was also felt on his neck. Lexie had somehow managed to land a punch, and from the looks of it, it was quite strong too.
The man convulsed as the dagger plunged into his chest.
If the heart was indeed situated on the left, his heart would have been penetrated by the dagger’s blade by now.
The man widened his eyes.
Surprised by the sudden turn of events.
Everything happened too quickly. He had underestimated these two.
He did not even know where he was hit by the bullet, but he could feel that his life force was slipping out of his grip.
Followed by the dagger on his chest, he somehow realized that everything was already over.
Even with a high Vitality attribute, he knew that he was already done for.
What he was confused about, though, was how a mortal kid was able to block his full-powered punch.
Unfortunately, this question would follow him to his grave.
However, a Warrior was indeed a tenacious being.
"DAMN YOUUU!"
Even with all of those injuries, and even on the verge of death, the man was still able to let out a thunderous roar.
With the blade still on his chest, the man forcefully flung his arms around in a desperate struggle.
Unprepared, both Lexie and Desther were caught by the chaotic attack.
Desther had it easier. Since his strength was more than that of the man, at the very least, he was able to resist a little bit.
Lexie, on the other hand, felt the full brunt of the man’s dying attack. Her waist was hit by the man’s thick arms. Her figure was flung away like a ragdoll, hitting the tree a few meters away.
Desther felt his thigh was about to break as well.
Fortunately, he was able to adjust the angle of his thigh, or else, it would be his kneecap that would break upon contact from such a strong force.
After all, even though he has a high strength attribute at this moment, the same could not be said for his other attributes.
Losing the sensation on his thigh for a brief moment, Desther also hopped away, not wanting to receive any more beating from the dying man.
At this point, he knew that the man was already as good as dead.
At the same time, Desther picked up the revolver on the ground.
Opening the cylinder, the empty shells dropped to the ground as he took out his remaining bullets from his pocket.
After reloading, he spun the revolver cylinder and put it in place.
Enduring the pain on his thigh and right arm, Desther raised the revolver and pointed the muzzle to a location away from the man.
In the muzzle’s line of sight, Lexie slowly got up.
