SSS Awakening: I Can Steal Attributes-Chapter 26: Healing Potion
Hearing her words, Lexie nodded her head in agreement.
That decision was in Desther’s agreement as well. He would have done the same thing.
Noah did not say anything but quietly took out something from his bag. Upon looking at it, Desther realized that it was actually the gun that was confiscated before.
"I can finally use this thing," Noah chuckled, delight was visible in his face as he caressed the gun’s surface.
Desther observed for a bit and realized it was actually a glock. Considering its size and features, it should be the Glock 17, widely used and issued to police officers before the apocalypse.
It uses 9 mm bullets, and although it does not pack as much punch as his .357 revolver, it should still be enough to let a monster face its demise.
This kind of glock usually has a 17-round magazine capacity. With a full load, killing a Tier 0 monster from an F-Threat dungeon should be easy.
’I wonder if he has some extra magazines and bullets on him...’ Desther wondered as his gaze shifted toward Noah’s backpack.
"What kind of gun is that?" Desther leaned closer and asked Noah.
"Oh, I don’t know. My father gave it to me and said I could use it for protection. Do you want to hold it?"
Desther shook his head hearing that question while Noah shrugged his shoulders. Noah then proceeded to insert the gun in his waistband for easier access later.
Noah’s answer, though, told Desther a lot of things regarding his capability with it.
The group then proceeded to check their perimeter, checking for any signs of monsters or danger.
After they were done, they gathered together once more to plan out and finalize their strategy.
"Let’s check our inventory as well. Do you guys have any additional items in your bags that could help our exploration? For example, Noah’s gun is a good addition. I just wonder how many bullets you have in total. And how’s your skill with the gun?" Lexie asked.
"Counting the one loaded in the gun, I still have another two magazines in my backpack. Each magazine holds 17 bullets in total. As for my gun skills, you can basically call me a marksman," Noah said with a chuckle.
Desther felt intrigued.
’So, with three magazines, it’s safe to say that bullets aren’t a problem for him. I wonder where his family buys their bullets.’
’Once I get my Professional Badge, I should go and look for bullets as well,’ Desther decided.
His revolver could be considered a smuggled item. Once he got his badge, though, he could register the revolver as a professional’s weapon, and buying bullets for it would no longer be a problem. Except for the money he needed to buy them, of course.
"Good! How about you guys? Do you guys have any other items that might contribute later on?"
Lexie paused for a bit before continuing, "As for me, I have a Tier 0 Healing Potion here that could potentially save our lives from danger. Of course, such an item is expensive, so don’t expect me to use it on minor wounds."
Potions were products made by the potion masters or alchemists. There were different kinds of them, each having a different effect from the other. The Tier 0 Healing Potion in Lexie’s hand, for example, was a potion specifically concocted to heal severe wounds of Tier 0 professionals.
As far as Desther knew, although categorized by Tiers according to their efficacy, each potion still has different potencies according to their quality. From weakest to greatest potency and effect, they were graded as Low, Medium, High and Perfect.
Usually, they could be easily distinguished according to their color. The deeper the respective color, the higher the potency. Some could only be categorized using their smell or by measuring machines made by other Lifestyle Professionals.
For example, the Tier 0 Healing Potion in Lexie’s hand was bright red in color, signifying that it was a Medium quality Tier 0 Healing Potion. Low quality should be pale red, High Quality would be deeper red, and then Perfect would be almost like maroon.
A Medium quality Tier 0 Healing Potion was very expensive. Each bottle could, after all, be a Tier 0 Professional’s life-saving method. Even a deep wound could be healed perfectly.
High and Perfect quality would be even more potent.
Desther recalled the news regarding it before. It was said that High quality Healing Potion could even mend broken bones of professionals of the same tier as the potion.
Perfect quality Healing Potion was even more absurd. It was rumored that it could even regrow limbs.
’Her family is indeed wealthy. No wonder she could move perfectly again after taking all those damages from before,’ Desther thought, recalling Lexie’s pathetic state just a week before.
Normal humans would surely not be able to recover from those severe wounds even after a few months.
Yet here she was, just a week later, perfectly alive and kicking.
If Desther’s high Vitality at that time did not help him, his arm might still be sore from the bruises he sustained in that battle too.
After Lexie showed the healing potion, even Noah was visibly surprised and felt a little envy. No matter how wealthy his family was, they just could not afford to buy him such a Healing Potion. Even a Low quality Healing Potion would put a strain on their wealth.
After all, such potions could be considered a family’s strategic resource. Even if they have the wealth, obtaining it would not be easy either, even with the help of the Professional Alliance.
Difficult to make and with valuable effects, it would be a surprise if it did not become a hot commodity.
It was said that it would be better to hire a healing Professional than to use the wealth to buy a single decent quality Healing Potion.
’The rumors regarding her family having a lot of potion masters and alchemists might have some truth in them,’ Desther thought.
After Lexie showed the potion, Desther could feel that the atmosphere seemed to relax a little.
Well, considering the effect of the potion, Desther could truly not blame them.
Desther then told them that aside from some first aid kit, his bag only contains some basic needs like biscuits and water.
Elena also provided what she could offer.
After settling everything, and with a plan in mind, the team finally decided to set out.
A few moments later, the team stopped with a gesture from Lexie.
"Goblin droppings and tracks ahead, let’s proceed with caution."
