Chapter 35: Five Minutes, Gains

Swoop!

The dagger pierced the head of a goblin without resistance. Unlike the hard skin of the dungeon boss, goblins were much easier to pierce and slash.

At the corner of his eyes, Desther saw a dagger going toward his stomach.

Aware of it, he pulled his dagger from the goblin’s head while deflecting the other goblin’s wooden dagger coming toward him with his free hand.

Most goblins were basic fighters. They only do simple thrust, slash, and pierce. It was easy for Desther to guess the trajectory of theirs and intercept it midway, especially with his enhanced senses.

In his perception, their attacks were clear and slow. He deflected the goblin’s wrist holding the wooden dagger with a simple swipe of his hand.

CRACK!

That simple action, though, was able to crack and dislocate the goblin’s joint. With 13 STR, breaking the bones of a goblin with a VIT of less than 5 was as easy as breathing for Desther.

The good thing about it, Desther did not even feel any pain from the impact. His VIT was high, and that kind of force no longer bothers him.

The goblin screamed in pain as the wooden dagger was released from its grip.

Desther did not allow the goblin to recover from the pain as he stabbed its head with great precision. Life faded out of its eyes as it fell to the ground with a thud.

At this moment, the remaining goblins finally realized that they were dealing with a strong being.

They began to tremble in fear, looking at Desther as if he was a demon that descended from hell.

However, there was no mercy for the wicked.

Life was a matter of perspective.

Desther did not bat an eye and continued the massacre as usual.

Five minutes later, Desther panted slightly as he looked at the grotesque landscape around him.

Goblin bodies lay everywhere, each bathing in their own blood.

The blood and gore looked repulsive, and if he had not seen such a sight countless times before, Desther might have even felt the urge to puke at the sight of it.

At the very least, he did so during the first time he saw such a sight.

Five minutes.

That was how long the battle took—if it could be called such.

Due to his enhanced attributes as well and with the help of his various skills, the battle was actually extremely easy, in Desther’s opinion.

If he had the same strength while fighting that dungeon boss and the Tier 1 Warrior, Desther thought that the fight might have become much easier as well.

The goblin ears were good materials that could be sold for some money.

However, afraid of getting attention the moment he goes outside, Desther decides not to take any of them.

It was a pity, but he did not think too much about it.

With his strength, it would not be a problem earning more than what he could harvest here.

Not wanting to risk it, Desther planned to leave and rendezvous with the others.

He grabbed some leaves from the bushes and wiped the goblin blood that stuck on the dagger’s blade.

There were some blood stains on his jacket, but there should be no problem showing up with them.

Out of his group, Lexie was the only person he thought was observant. She might notice the bloodstains, but considering that she was aware of what he had done, he was not worried about her snitching on him either.

And if she does, well, so be it.

While he was running toward his party, Desther decided to inspect gains he made earlier.

In total, Desther was able to harvest 34 Free Attributes from all the goblins he killed.

Some of them were giving him more than 1 point after killing them; hence, his total amounted to that match.

He just allocated 29 Free Attribute points earlier, and a few minutes later, he earned 34 of them without breaking a sweat.

If the other Awakened Professionals learned of this feat, they would surely die of envy toward him.

Attributes were the core of any Awakened Professional.

After all, no matter how strong their talent was, if their attributes remained the same, they would still lose out to beings with higher attributes.

Desther set aside these 34 Free Attributes for now and planned to deal with them later.

Aside from that, Desther also earned some experience points while killing those goblins.

Rummaging over the notification, five goblins gave him experience points.

Although not by much, it was actually able to allow him to level up and with some extra.

He was now a genuinely bonafide Awakened Professional.

Although still at Tier 0, it was still better than a notch better compared to having no level at all.

[ Your level has increased! ]

[ Free Attributes: +5 ]

This was the benefit of increasing your level. You will get a direct increase in attributes, enough to distribute to the five main attributes of Awakened Professionals.

From Tier 0, each level increase gives 5 Free Attribute points. This means that for a Tier 0 Awakened Professional, even if they reached Level 10, the Free Attribute they would be able to get was 50.

And to think that Desther had already gotten above that amount by utilizing his talent.

Although it may not seem like it, the Ultimate Talent was truly worthy of its grade.

Desther turned to look at the next notification.

[ Mission Completed! ]

[ Mission reward: Experience +100% ]

[ Your level has increased! ]

[ Free Attributes: +5 ]

His level had increased once more, and he was now a Level 2 Awakened Professional.

Normally, with such a level, an Awakened Professional would only be slightly stronger than average humans in terms of attributes.

They would only be able to see a real transformation once they transitioned to Tier 1 and got their class.

At that time, their main attributes would double, and they would grow significantly stronger. Akin to a caterpillar transforming to a butterfly.

With Desther’s current attributes, though, Desther estimated that he should now be as strong as a Level 10 Awakened Professional minus the bonuses they got from their Talents.

Along with the Free Attributes he recently earned, defeating a Level 10 Awakened Professional barehanded should not be a problem for him.

Not that Desther planned to do that, though. 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖

Anyway, Desther also decided to check his current Profile Status and see the changes after he leveled up.
