SSS Awakening: I Can Steal Attributes-Chapter 41: Obscure Motive
Seeing their reaction, Lexie could not blame them either.
If she had not experienced her fair share of troubles before, maybe she would also feel the same if her classmate experienced the same situation.
However, having seen the harsh reality of the world clearly, she was much calmer and even knew that at the end of the day, Kevin deserved what he got for attacking Desther first.
In fact, if Desther had not retaliated, she would still make sure that they get their revenge one way or another.
She even thought that Desther’s way of doing the revenge was too straightforward and could easily lead to various undesirable situations.
Still, she did not blame Desther for his actions. By her logic, what he did was just and justified; no other explanations needed.
Anyway, it was already done. And the next thing she should do was to prevent the situation from escalating even further.
They might not have interacted a lot of times, but among all of her classmates, Desther was still the person she trusted the most.
Hearing Noah’s question full of concern toward their other classmate, Lexie could only sigh and answer honestly.
She held Elena’s trembling hand as she stated, "Honestly, I don’t know as well. However, we have already awakened, and we are no longer the same weak mortals we were a week before. Kevin should be able to manage."
"Not to mention..." pausing for a bit, Lexie took a quick glance at Desther before continuing, "Not to mention the fact that Desther did not actually hit him that hard and was actually holding back."
Noah smiled wryly upon hearing her words.
’If that was not hard, then how hard could Desther actually hit?’
However, when he thought deeply about it, Lexie actually seemed right.
After all, if Desther had used his skill and not those simple moves, Kevin would have surely died without a question.
"That’s good to hear then." In the end, Noah could only sigh to himself, forcefully taking Lexie’s explanation as the truth.
At the side, Desthe merely listened to their conversation. No matter how Lexie would explain it, he would not interfere at all.
While Lexie was trying to console the two, Desther suddenly saw that Teacher Rosa was actually dashing toward them.
The speed was overly impressive, and Desther actually felt that he could not follow her movements.
And in the next moment, she had already arrived not far from the four of them.
Worry was plastered all over her face as she asked with a soft tone, "What’s the matter, everyone? Any problem? Are any of you wounded?"
Lexie turned around and immediately smiled toward Teacher Rosa.
"Everything is great, Miss. Don’t mind us, we were just having some conversation regarding our strategies."
Hearing that, Teacher Rosa heaved a sigh of relief.
"Thank god. I was worried for a bit after seeing you guys pause for a few moments here."
"Well then. Let’s go to the Exit Portal and wait for the others to arrive."
"Oh right, you’re already done with your task, right? The four of you have already unlocked your Profile Status?"
Lexie smiled and nodded her head in affirmation. "Yes. Everything went smoothly for us."
"That’s great! You guys continue to do good work, alright? You kids are the future of our humanity. So all of you must work hard, not only for the general masses, but for your own good as well."
They nodded their heads hearing her speech.
"By the way, Miss. Can I please have a minute of your time? I just want to report something to you."
When they arrived not far from the exit portal, Lexie finally decided to tell Teacher Rosa regarding what happened on their way here.
Teacher Rosa stared at her seriously after hearing her serious tone.
"Alright. Let’s move over there," she answered while pointing toward a particular direction away from the Exit Portal.
Lexie looked at Desther and the others and gave each of them a nod, as if to say that there was nothing to worry about.
...
Meanwhile, after Lexie and Teacher Rosa left, Desther also left Elena and Noah alone.
He went to the side and found a semi-secluded spot.
While walking toward there, he also did not forget to patiently observe his surroundings, as well as the people around him.
From the looks of it, Victor and the group he was assigned to were still not here.
Desther could not help but wonder what their real objective was for stopping them earlier.
With his enhanced senses, he was able to hear some bits and pieces of information from the talks of his classmates around him.
And from the looks of it, they were the only ones who got stopped by Victor’s henchmen. The others did not seem to experience what they went through with John and the others.
Their motive became even more obscure, leaving Desther to speculate about it.
Aside from that, Desther also learned that his classmates were also able to unlock their Profile Status successfully.
Some did not have it easy with their first kill. While some were even wounded in their fight with the goblins.
However, it was still better than not being able to unlock the Profile Status at all.
Fortunately, none was grievously wounded, and Teacher Rosa had already treated the injured students.
Speaking of Teacher Rosa, Desther also heard from the mouths of his classmates that she actually accompanied the group with three members inside the dungeon. They were teleported with each other, and Teacher Rosa was basically right beside them the whole time they were here.
Among all his classmates, they were also the first to unlock their Profile Status and reach the exit portal.
They were clearly deemed as the unlucky group for having only three members. But from the looks of it, they might seem to be the luckiest of their whole class. They practically had Teacher Rosa as their mentor while they were doing their first kills.
They could not be more safer than that.
Talk about turning the situation around.
While observing the others, Desther assessed the situation of his equipment as well.
The most important thing was his phone. He inspected it thoroughly, and it did not seem to be damaged.
He was actually worried that it got cracked from the fight earlier.
Confirming that it was alright, Desther did not waste his time doing nothing, so he decided to be productive by reading some random novels he downloaded in advance.
He was only able to read a paragraph or two earlier before he was disturbed by Kevin, so he obviously would want to continue reading as well.
They were still waiting for the others to come back anyway.
Time swiftly passes by as Dether’s thoughts drift toward the novel he was reading.
His mind, though, was still alert and ready to respond to any situation.
After reading a few Chapters and enjoying himself, Desther suddenly shifted his gaze away from his phone.
It was because he heard from the faint voices of his classmates that the last group that they were waiting for had already arrived.
Looking up, Desther immediately recognized who they were.
Behind Victor, John and his group were walking slowly. Getting supported by Adrian, Kevin also came into view.
