Desther’s vision blanked out as his body disappeared into the portal.

He felt his mind swirl for a bit, and the next moment, it returned to normalcy as if nothing had happened.

The slight nausea that he was feeling, though, was a clear testament that he had truly stepped into a dungeon gate.

’What was that all about?’ He thought, thinking about the words he heard at the last minute.

’I knew it! Lexie Corazon Baltazar is indeed trouble...’

’This is exactly the reason why I don’t want to get entangled with any of them. So much drama... tsk, tsk.’

’Well, I’ll just continue to ignore her as usual.’

The moment he gained clarity, he immediately opened his eyes and hurriedly surveyed his surroundings.

Inside a dungeon, one must not be careless and should remain focused.

Especially since this was his first time getting into one.

He already knew a lot of information online, as well as that provided in school.

Desther scanned his surroundings and immediately concluded that he seemed to be in the middle of a forest.

’No different than in the real world, huh...’ Desther muttered as he continued his observation.

There was no visible sun, but the area had enough light to light up the surroundings. Warm temperature assaulted his skin, no different than when he was outside.

If he did not know beforehand that he had willingly stepped inside one, he might not even realize that he was already inside a dungeon by now.

’Like they said, inside a dungeon is truly another world.’

Although amazed by the sight of it, Desther did not forget what he needed to do in here.

After confirming that the place he was in was safe, he decided to get the map from his backpack and mark his current location.

Since this was a Regulated Dungeon, a lot of information regarding it was available in school.

A week ago, when it was announced that their class would be using this particular dungeon to awaken, they were also provided study materials regarding this dungeon.

Desther had studied those materials thoroughly.

Awakening a talent usually takes around at least ten minutes.

Although he did not feel any difference, according to the experts, his body should have already begun absorbing mana energy right now.

It would take at least ten minutes for a talent to manifest.

However, like what Teacher Rosa stated, it was not ideal to just stay in one place and wait for the talent to awaken.

As soon as possible, it was better to move toward the gathering point and meet up with everyone.

’According to this map, I am now in the southwest direction. If I got it right, the nearest gathering point should be three kilometers away from here.’

Desther took out his phone and confirmed that there was indeed no signal inside a dungeon.

Well, it would be strange if there was one, considering that this was, after all, a different world than Earth.

’If I arrive there within twenty minutes, I would still have two hours and forty minutes of free time. Should be enough to read a few Chapters that I already downloaded beforehand.’

After sorting everything, Desther did not linger in the area any longer and began his journey toward the nearest gathering point.

It has been five years since humans began to awaken Talents.

According to the experts, the acquisition of Talent was random and had no particular connection to the individual’s past experience.

For example, a person might be a very talented boxer before the Age of Descent, but when they awaken, they could totally awaken a talent to make delicious pastries.

Or a person might be just skin and bones before the Age of Descent but could totally awaken a talent regarding physique after awakening.

Of course, cases like a person with a certain specialization awakening a talent complementing their specialization were also quite common.

As of this moment, these were still being studied by the experts.

However, it could still be ruled out that this was indeed random, and each could only pray that the talent they awakened would be something they desired.

Their effect varies depending on the Talent as well as their grade.

The reason why that famous saying became famous was partly because of this reason as well.

From F to S, in which S-Grade Talent were only speculations and theories.

At least, there were no public announcements regarding individuals awakening or upgrading their talent to S-Grade yet.

Hence, for Desther and the others, awakening a weak talent was never a concern.

Their main concern, as taught by the experts, should be on thinking about how to utilize their awakened Talent effectively.

This was also part of the reason why a student’s awakening was set a month after going to college and not in the middle or at the end of it.

After awakening, if a student does not know how they could properly utilize their awakened talent, they could totally ask the teacher’s opinion so that they could be guided thoroughly with their journey.

The awakened Talent would also determine what kind of Awakened Professional they would be in the future.

Though, no matter the Talent they would awaken, it would still be up to the individual themselves if they want to become a Combat Professional or a Life Professional.

As for Desther himself, he does not wish for a strong talent that could topple mountains and rivers.

What he wanted was a stable life. Away from the dangers and dramas of life.

A peaceful life inside a wooden cabin, reading his favorite novel while leaning in a reclining chair, was indeed a beautiful dream.

A stable talent that could let him earn a simple living was all that he wished for.

After ten minutes of running, Desther suddenly paused in his tracks.

It was because a transparent screen appeared in front of his eyes all of a sudden.

And at that moment, Desther knew that he had awakened and acquired his Talent.

What he didn’t know was that, in this moment, his life was about to be turned upside down.
