A transparent screen filled with text appeared in front of his eyes. Strangely enough, even though it was directly in front of his eyes, it did not seem to affect his vision at all.

This transparent screen was a clear indication that an individual had awakened.

Before Desther could inspect these transparent screens that appeared in his vision, he suddenly felt a rumble spreading through the area.

’Fuck! Earthquake? At the same moment I awakened this SSS grade talent?’

’I will not read novels for a year if these are not somehow related to each other!’

In this world, the highest known Talent to be awakened and upgraded to was still at ’A’. If there was an S and SS after that, then this only meant that his SSS grade was at least three times higher compared to the highest available in public as of this moment.

The sudden earthquake was also quite unusual. Occurring right after he awakened this talent.

He did not believe even for a second that this was just a mere coincidence.

He had read countless novels to allow himself to be fooled by such a basic plot.

Now that he had awakened such a high grade talent, Desther knew that trouble would surely come his way.

’Damn it!’

Cursing inwardly, Desther stabilized himself as he hurriedly inspected the area he was in.

In particular, he was searching for a clue, or a change that could somehow allow him to know what was going on.

’Wait. A sudden earthquake inside a dungeon... The fuck! Isn’t this a precursor to a mutating dungeon?’

Desther was no stranger to dungeons mutating all of a sudden.

Dungeon mutation just basically means that the threat of the dungeon would undergo a rapid change. Usually increasing to one grade or higher.

If a dungeon mutated, there was also a hundred percent chance that a Dungeon Break would appear.

A Dungeon Break, on the other hand, just meant that the monsters inside the said dungeon would pour out from the dungeon portal to the main world to wreak havoc.

According to what was announced, Dungeon mutation usually occurs when a massive amount of mana energy is poured into the dungeon.

When this massive mana energy overloaded the dungeon and successfully mutated to a higher threat, the monsters inside would also become much stronger.

As for Dungeon Break, it was said that when a dungeon was overflowing with mana energy, it would break and the gate would allow monsters to pour out.

Dungeon Break usually happens if a dungeon was left unchecked and a lot of monsters congregated within, hence causing mana to overflow.

The reason why Regulated Dungeons were safe was partly because the monsters inside were kept at a minimum number, preventing a Dungeon Break from occurring.

Now that this F-Threat Regulated Dungeon is undergoing a mutation, though, Desther was sure as hell that this would also lead to a Dungeon Break right after the mutation.

The dungeon size would increase, the number of monsters would increase, and their level and strength would increase as well.

’I’m cooked, bro...’

"Wait... It’s not that bad," Desther said, trying to console himself.

"Even though it’s rare, the school and the government should have some countermeasures in place just in case something like this happens."

This was not the first time that a dungeon had suddenly mutated, after all.

Aside from the Tier 1 Awakened Professionals now inside the dungeon, Desther knew that there must be Awakened Professionals outside the dungeon, monitoring the dungeon level at all times.

Now, there was no rule that higher-tier Awakeners could not enter a low grade dungeon. It was just that since there was little to no benefit for them while doing so, higher-tier awakeners usually don’t want to enter lower grade dungeons.

Allowing them to enter low grade dungeons would also be impractical since there were higher grade dungeons for them to worry about.

Realizing this fact, Desther concluded that even Tier 2 Awakeners might be dispatched to settle this mutating dungeon.

"Yes. I don’t need to do anything in particular. The experts will naturally handle the rest. All I need to do is go to the nearest gathering point and stay safe under the Tier 1 Awakener’s protection."

With that in mind, Desther did not waste any more time.

He inspected the map once again and confirmed his current location.

Now that the dungeon was mutating, though, he did not know if this map was still as accurate as before. Nevertheless, he did not have any other choice.

’If I sprint all the way there without pause, arriving at the gathering point within seven minutes should be doable.’

Desther did not even bother to inspect the details of his awakened talent as he dismissed the transparent screen with a thought.

He was now racing against time.

He must reach the gathering point before the dungeon’s mutation shows its effect.

An increase of the landmass and an increased number of monsters, as well as an upgrade to their strength.

Any of that could be extremely problematic even for a Tier 1 Awakened Professional, let alone him, who was not even considered Tier 0 yet.

Having decided what to do, Desther sprang into action.

Before he could go far, though, another earthquake ensued in the area. This time, it was even stronger than the last and almost lasted a minute.

Desther stopped in time and held onto one of the trees.

The moment the earthquake ended, Desther, who had stabilized himself, suddenly felt an intense foreboding assault in his mind.

His eyelids twitched rapidly, and before it could subside, a transparent screen had already flashed in front of his eyes.

"Fuck!"

Desther immediately cursed, even before he inspected the details of the screen.

It appeared the moment the second earthquake subsided? Who would believe it was anything good?

Taking a quick glance at it, Desther finally realized where the intense foreboding came from.
