Chapter 173: All bark and no bite.

Not letting up, The brunette-haired woman leaned in, her lips meeting his, their tongues intertwining in a heated kiss that drew out a trace of saliva whenever they parted, while her curls brushed against his cheek, carrying the faint scent of jasmine.

The blonde and last of the three, positioned herself beside him, her skin soft under his rough hands as he fondled her breast, his groans of pleasure rumbling deep in his chest as he indulged himself in the satisfying service they offered.

And just like that, the once chaotic room, was soon filled with the sounds of their heated moans, the soft squelching of lips sucking against lips, the faint hitch of their breaths, and Nicholas’s low, groans as he lost himself in their touch, yet his mind was still scheming, plotting, even as his body surrendered to the moment.

The warm, heavy air in Nicholas’s fancy parlor, filled with the sweet smell of jasmine and the musky scent of bodies, was soon broken by a loud knock on the oak door.

" Sorry for intruding Boss, but I just got word that the supreme head wants all the gang heads to meet right away."

’ Just when It was getting good that old bastard comes to ruin it.’

Nicholas’s moment of pleasure vanished, his blue eyes narrowing as he shot an angry look at the door.

’ Blasted Old man, Of course I know why he’s decided on calling another meeting so soon.’ Nicholas cursed under his breath. ’ Would it kill him to take it easy like he usually does.’

The three women stopped what they were doing when they heard the voices word’s, They didn’t need to be told to realize that they couldn’t continue.

The one with dark hair pulled back from his lap, her breath shaky, while the one with brunette curls shifted from his lips, her chests rising and falling as she caught her breath, and the blonde flinched as his hand left her chest.

" That will be all for today, You all can leave now." Nicholas pushed them aside, their bodies stumbling onto the soft rug, gasping in surprise yet non of them complained, instead they were secretly glad they wouldn’t continue to stay in this tense place any longer.

With his destination in mind, Nicholas stood up, his bare skin glistening with sweat in the candlelight, his blonde hair messy as he stomped upstairs to take a shower and a new change of clothes, so that he could head out.

Soon after, Nicholas walked into Machete’s office, where the air smelled of cigar smoke and the view of rising testosterone was clearly visible on his bosses face.

The room was dimly lit, with just one oil lamp casting shaky shadows over a big oak desk. Definitely a new piece considering how the last one ended up.

Machete, paced back and forth, his boots thumping on the worn floor. His bearded face was twisted with anger, his dark eyes burning like fire. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

As Nicholas entered, followed by Lucas, whose messy brown hair fell over his sharp face, Machete’s building rage finally exploded.

" Of all the times for this to happen! Why now!" He slammed his fist on the desk, splitting the wood with a loud crack, pieces flying like dry leaves.

" I’m sure the both of you both know why you’re here." he shouted, his voice like a storm, his thick fingers twitching as if he wanted to break something else.

Lucas, leaned against the wall, looking carefree as ever, a smirk on lips. "So what, we just lost the meat head, I don’t see what’s wrong." he said casually, his voice smooth but a bit cocky.

"That big idiot had it coming. I’m sure he probably just went over there without a single plan in mind. This is what happens when some people rely on brawns over brains."

" I had a feeling things wouldn’t turnout as easily as he hoped, I mean, for someone to suddenly take over one of our bases while knowing who we are, doesn’t that strike you both as something no normal man would’ve done. It’s obvious he’s at least capable and not looking for trouble."

" If you ask me, I’ll say that meat head did us a favour. At least now we know how strong the person we’re dealing with, is."

Lucas ran his mouth without a single care in the world, that was until Machete’s cold glare hit him like a slap, making him shut up lest he got himself a beating of a lifetime.

" There’s no reason to be mad at Lucas boss."

Nicholas finally spoke up, clearing his throat, his voice calm but careful, showing his clever, scheming side. "Marcus’s death surprised us all, Yes" he said, his eyes glancing around the room.

"But we can’t afford to draw attention to ourselves right now." He paused, letting his words sink in since this was the crux of the matter he wanted to point out before they did something to hinder his plan unintentionally.

"We still have that corpse sighting mess to clean up," he added, his voice steady. "We should deal with that before we do anything that could get us into deeper trouble."

" Hehehehe, and here I thought you’ve forgotten." Machete’s laughed with anger in his voice, his eyes twitching while his fist struck the desk, making the broken wood groan.

"Why haven’t you fixed that yet?!" he yelled, his voice booming, his eyes glaring at Nicholas like he could burn a hole through him.

"You were so sure of yourself last time, acting like you had everything handled! Yet not only do we have to deal with this mysterious fellow but we still have that corpse incidents hanging around our necks!"

" Do you have any idea how this makes us look Infront of the other regions gangs?!" Machete looked like he was a step away from blowing his top.

" If we don’t do something quickly, those greedy bastards might start setting their eye’s on the southern region!" His beard shook with each word, his ripped body trembling while he tried to suppress his boiling rage, the smell of his sweat mixing with the cigar smoke.

Nicholas, calm as ever, raised a hand, his lips curling into a small, confident smile. "I just made a small mistake, There really isn’t any reason to worry. Just trust me on this one boss." he said smoothly, his voice polite yet that did nothing to calm Machete down.

"I’ll take care of it. For now, we shouldn’t do anything to make things worse." With that, he turned and walked out without waiting for anyone of them to utter another word, his boots echoing loudly, leaving the room’s tension behind.

" Damn that arrogant little prick! Isn’t he listening to what I said!"

Machete’s frustration burst out again, as he let out a string of curses flying as he kicked a piece of the broken desk across the room. Striking the wall before clattering to a stop.

" Well since that’s all been said and done, I’m heading out too. This is the best time of the day to catch a nap."

Lucas, headed toward the door, but he stopped when Machete’s voice snapped at him like a whip.

"Hold on," Machete growled, his eyes narrowing as he leaned forward, his hands gripping the broken desk. " Are you telling me you’re leaving as well."

"We can’t just sit back while Marcus’s killer is out there having a good time!" His voice was no different than a deluded mad beast itching to sink it’s fangs into something.

Lucas raised an eyebrow, his hands slipping into his pockets. "Didn’t Nicholas just say we should keep quiet?" he asked, sounding unsure, a hint of worry in his eyes despite his tough act. He knew the man was irritating at times but above all else, he was still the brains behind the gang, since Nicholas told them to keep quiet, then the situation must be that dire.

Machete’s scowl deepened, his voice rising as he slammed a hand against the wall, making the weapons rattle. "Who’s the boss here, Lucas? Me or Nicholas?!" he snapped.

" Of course it’s you, Boss. Who else would it be." Lucas gave in, not bothering to extend his time with him. His reaction naturally irritated Machete but he was able to control himself a bit before continuing.

"I think we’ll do things your way this time around. Like you said, just brawns won’t do anything this time since we aren’t clear on how strong this bastard is, so."

" I need you to take out whoever did this." He said, his brows tightening.

" Hold up! Why only me?!" Lucas exclaimed, clearly apprehensive.

" You’re an assassin so it should be easier for you to kill him, all you need is a single quick strike." Machete said yet he noticed Lucas’s face still looked uneasy.

"I’ll even let you take as many men as you need," Machete added, his voice softening but still sharp.
