Chapter 192: Finally Opening the late husband’s chest.
• [Spell: Heal Lvl 1]
• [Basic Sword Mastery]
[The Player is adviced to pick one, While the other shall vanish.]
Su Ping smiled since it’s been awhile since he heard the systems voice. He then stared at the two cards in front of him with a contemplative look.
’ Healing is completely useless to me at the moment, thanks to my Dark Dragon Eyes, i possess the superb healing of an Abyssal Blood Tree demon, moreover, I’ve already mimicked the dead man’s healing spell before.’
’ What I need now is not healing but something I can use to increase my offensive capabilities. And coincidentally, I just got myself a new sword...’ He chuckled inward at the trick of fate, who knew the reward he got from killing his wife’s former husband would show it’s worth now.
He didn’t hesitate and went ahead with choosing the basic sword mastery skill. The next moment, the skill card merged with him while the other scattered into countless glittering fragments.
The moment he merged with the card, Su Ping felt a faint pull from the sword in his hand as if it yerned to be swung.
He raised the sword and slashed out, yet no sound was heard, nor were there any chaotic phenomenon.
"...?"
’ Is that it?’ Su Ping thought to himself, he swung the sword a few more times, each time he heard no sound nor did he see any sort of shocking scene which soon began to irk him.
’ What sort of reward is this? It’s not even that powerful...’ Su Ping couldn’t help but feel as I’d he had been scammed by the system.
What he didn’t know, was that Emilia who was sitting within the cart, now had a stunned look on her face. Each time Su Ping slashed out, her surprise would grow even more.
" I didn’t know you were so gifted with the sword." She suddenly spoke up, attracting Su Pings attention.
’Gifted?’
" You know about the sword?" Su Ping didn’t expose his lack of knowledge but instead wanted to acquire more from her instead.
" I don’t know much but I learnt a few things while watching my family’s knights." Emilia said yet a faint sadness appeared in her eyes at the mention of her past.
" And what is it you learned." Su Ping didn’t want her to stop there, he wanted to know more to dispell his ignorance.
Emilia snapped out of her melancholy after hearing his question. She looked as if she was trying hard to remember before her eyes suddenly brightened.
" If i recall correctly, there should be 3 known levels to swordsmanship."
" The first is the silent sword, where a swordsman reaches a level of attunement with their blade that each strike is precise and silent, dealing more damage than other swordsmen who haven’t reached such a state." Emilia priked her finger with her nail and a small stream if blood leaked oyt before converging into a dagger with just a though from her.
The weapon looked so lifelike and even had a dangerous gleam to it.
She slashed the dagger in the air a few times, surprising Su Ping. Each time she slashed her dagger, it would always make a slashing sound through the air.
Su Ping didn’t think that she was trying to fool him because he payed extra attention to her movements and even noticed that she was putting utmost effort into every strike.
" As you can see, I’m not at the first stage yet, so my swordsmanship can’t be compared to yours." Emilia said with a defeated sigh.
He waited patiently yet she didn’t say anything else anymore.
’ What about the other two stages?! Didn’t you say they’re 3 in total?’
" You mentioned there being three stages?" The Wolf King suddenly spoke up, showing interest in the topic.
For the first time ever, Su Ping felt grateful that she was finally being useful for once.
Emilia pondered for a moment before saying. " I can’t remember properly but I think the second second stage is becoming one with ones sword while the third stage is becoming a sword entirely..."
" They’re both confusing and i never understood them. I’m afraid thats all I know about the matter." Emilia sighed.
’ Becoming one and becoming the sword yourself....’ Su Ping muttered the words in his mind. His interest were peaked, although he didn’t understand it as well, he couldn’t help feeling as if there was a stone wall Infront of him with a vine dangling above his head.
He thought about it over and over but still couldn’t come up with something.
" Is there another stage above the 3rd stage?" The Wolf King asked.
’ What’s up with her? Why’s she still so curious about this.’ Su Ping had already gotten all the info he could handle so he was surprised when she continued to ask more questions.
Before Emilia could say a word, Su Ping eyed the Wolf King up and down when he noticed something, her fingers were strangely tense all of a sudden.
" You’ve encountered a powerful swordsman before?" He asked.
She didn’t say a word, instead clenching her fist’s on instinct.
’ So that’s why she’s so curious.’
" You want to get revenge on them by learning swordsmanship? What dumb idea is that?" Su Ping rolled his eyes at her. His gaze filled with hints of disdain.
Emilia’s pupils widened, her mouth agape as if she wanted to say something but.
" What are you implying! Are you calling me weak..." For the first time in awhile, The Wolf Kings gaze was suddenly cold when she looked at Su Ping.
The Dark Dragon King sneered, completely unfazed when he realized he’d just touched upon a precious subject.
" You expect to defeat someone who probably has years of experience in a fighting style you completely know nothing about?"
" If that isn’t a completely foolish idea, I don’t know what is."
Her body began to tremble, her clenched fists on her lap began to bleed, dripping blood onto her dress. She glanced downwards as if trying to hold herself back.
" Look at me when I’m talking to you." Su Ping grabbed her hair, yanking it upwards till both their eyes were on the same level, the distance between their faces merely centimeters apart.
" If you truly want to defeat your enemy then copying them exactly, is a horrible idea. There’s no guarantee you’ll be able to overtake them. The best option is to keep at your own strengths."
" Those who turn their backs on their own hardwork are nothing but sniveling cowards." At this point, her eyes looked dazed as if taking in his words.
" Rather than copy them, learn from them..."
" Your a beast aren’t you? Then make use of his weakness, monitor his actions, find a gap in his defences and use them to your own strengths."
" Rather than learning swordsmanship, focusing on cultivating your body is far more effective!"
In truth, Su Ping didn’t really care about her ideals or past, what he was worried about, was that she would end up diminishing her combat power in pursuit of this so called thought.
’ Blasted mutt, if she does that, there’s no way I’d be able to make use of her to the fullest extent.’ Su Ping cursed her inwardly for trying to ruin his plans.
To wipe that dumb thought from her mind, he decided to act as a deterrent.
" The next time you bring up something as useless as this again, will be the day I beat the living daylights out of you. Do you understand?" Su Ping said, expecting an answer but, she was strangely silent.
" I said do you understa–" his sentence froze in his throat when she suddenly lunged on him. Mid fall he felt two luscious lips pressing against his, taking his breath away in an instant.
The sensation was simply sublime, as if two milky soft, supple flesh were pressing against his while something mind breaking slipped into his mouth, intertwining with his.
" What do you think you’re doing?!" Dark tentacles emerged in an instant, binding her and restraining her mid air outside the moving cart.
The Wolf King didn’t say anything but licked her lips as if savouring the fading feeling on her lips.
"..."
[Deactivating Skill]
Su Ping dispelled the tentacles, dropping her outside the cart yet his face twitched when she easily landed on her feet and began to jog after them, though maintaining a short distance from the moving cart.
" Whats so funny..." Su Ping glanced side ways at Emilia, who’s lips were curved upwards ever so slightly.
" Nothing..."
"..." Su Ping’s eyes twitched again when the curve at the edge of her lips, creeped upwards again ever so slightly.
’ These two are testing my patience...’ Su Ping managed to restrain himself, he recalled his wife’s words and how he promised her he wouldn’t hurt the both of them so easily.
Finally calm, he returned to the coachman seat, yet when he turned around for a moment, he saw the Wolf King sitting within the cart opposite Emilia.
He sighed, not bothering with her, and instead focused on the road.
After ridding a few
more, Su Ping suddenly stop the cart from moving. The next moment, ten zombie kings leaped out from the tree’s and kneeled before the horse cart.
