SSS Ranked Dragon King: My Innate Ability is Unbelievable.-Chapter 191: it’s not ours!
Chapter 191: It’s not ours!
’ Especially when I was lucky enough to get such a great bloodline, since the possibility that this incident might be related to a player, exists, I can’t rush in without thought.’ Su Ping said before glancing at Emilia who looked surprise and the Wolf King who looked excited.
Su Ping had already acknowledged the latter’s strength and the formers versitile abilities for some time now.
If the person or people behind the incident where dangerous men or women, he could use Emilia to lure them out.
’ With her set of abilities and experience, it shouldn’t be that hard.’
If the problem arose because of a strong individual, then he believed that if he and the Wolf King joined forces, they shouldn’t be much to worry about, unless the problem had the threat level of a Lvl 4 unit. If so, then Su Ping might have to rethink his actions since he had no information about the true capabilities of a Lvl 4 unit, not to mention if it was a Lvl 4 player with a bloodline close to or equal to his.
" Y-You want us to protect you– I mean, you want me to protect you?" Emilia said, her voice filled with hints of surprise and a hidden excitement.
" Yes? Is something the matter?" Su Ping asked, confused as to why she replied in such a way.
" N-No, it’s nothing brother I mean, D-Darling!"Emilia replied in a flustered manner, the word at the end of her sentence caused Su Ping to flinch, he wanted to say something about it but his lips twitched when he noticed Melinda eyeing him somewhat.
What he didn’t know was that the reason Emilia was so excited was because she was finally given a chance to be of use to him.
Although Su Ping had assigned her as his nanny, she always had the feeling that he despised her, which made her feel as if she was still back home, but hearing him say he wanted her to protect him made her feel a new sense of purpose, she couldn’t help but feel a strange warmth in her heart since it was the first time in awhile someone wanted her to truly protect them.
While Melinda and the children were nice to her, she couldn’t help but feel that this was different for some reason.
All her life, she had been labeled as a failure, an existence who was treated as if better off dead, but now. She was simply too happy inside to describe.
’ Is something wrong with her?’ Su Ping noticed her heated expression and was confused since that was definitely a flustered look yet he couldn’t recall ever doing anything to initiate such. He recalled Emilia always being reserved around him so how come she was suddenly so strange all of a sudden, he wondered.
" Are you ok?" Su Ping walked up to her and touched her forehead with the back of his palm but froze when he recalled something, she was supposedly an undead.
’ She feels warm though?’
’ Could she be coming down with a fever perhaps?’ Su Ping thought to himself, not realizing that his sudden close proximity and touch were causing the poor woman’s blood to rush towards her cheeks into a bright blush.
Melinda who saw this, smiled helplessly while the Wolf King frowned and walked over before grabbing Su Ping’s wrist.
" She’s fine... I thought you said we were supposed to go somewhere?" She said with a frown, clearly, she wasn’t happy with the earlier display.
" And who said you could touch me?" Su Ping’s eye’s glowed purple black, his gaze cold while Several sharp tipped tentacles emerged inches away from her neck in a split second.
" Darling!" Su Ping stiffened when she called him out. He grumbled something beneath his breath before putting away the tentacles and restraining his magical power.
" Did you forget were inside, are you trying to bring down the house... It’s not even ours remember."
’ I completely forgot... ’
Su Ping’s eyes twitched but he took a deep breath and restrained himself. He pulled his hand out of the Wolf Kings grasp before glancing at her coldly.
" Since you’re in such a hurry to leave, let’s go." He said. The Wolf King glanced at Melinda, a strange look flashing momentarily in her eyes before she followed after Su Ping and Emilia who had already left through the door.
Su Ping didn’t forget to place the illusion on her, this time he exerted some more magical power and made it permanent.
’ It will eventually break if she reverts to her true form but for now it should be good enough.’ He said before getting on the horse cart. The other two got on and they headed on to the nearest city gate.
’ Besides checking what’s creating this incident, i can finally use the time to see how the ten of them have been. Coming along with the tasks I assigned them.’ Su Ping thought as the horse cart made its way through the streets.
" Your heading out again?" Su Ping met the same female enforcer at the gate, from the looks of it, her shift hadn’t ended yet.
" Yes, I’m afraid I have business to do outside. We should be back soon enough."
" Are you sure... Regarding the incidents..." The female enforcer still looked worried.
" I appreciate your concern ma’am but I assure you, we can take care of ourselves." Su Ping cut her off, speaking with a warm smile yet inwardly he was annoyed by how much time he was wasting having this conversation.
" Then at least take this." She stuffed an object in Su Ping’s hand, surprising him.
" This..." Su Ping stared at the sword she had handed him. His eyes glanced at her and noticed another at her side. He was surprised he didn’t take notice of this sooner, which might’ve been because he was mostly focused on Melinda back then.
’ Dual wielding?’ He had heard of swordsmen who fought with dual swords but not a knight.
He touched the edge of the blade and raised a brow in amazement, this sword wasn’t half bad.
’ What’s a common enforcer doing with weapons like these?’ Su Ping was curious. If she had a good wealthy background supporting her, then how come she was stationed as a gate man. He thought about it for a brief moment yet he still found it strange. 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺
" I’m afraid I can’t take this, I’m not skilled with the blade either. This fine treasure would be wasted on me." He decided to give it back to her, his words weren’t a lie either way, truthfully, he hadn’t used a blade once since he was transmigrated.
" Please, just take it. I’d feel more reassured knowing you have it." She said with a warm smile yet Su Ping couldn’t help feeling annoyed inside, though he didn’t show it.
’ Mel Mel must be quite the talker...’ He smiled sarcastically inwardly.
" Aren’t you worried I might end up selling it instead?"
" Then I’ll just take it that you owe me one." She chuckled, seemingly not taking his words to heart.
" Alright then, I promise to be back soon enough so I can return it."
" There’s no need to burden yourself, I’d rather not disrupt your journey. You can return it at my place when you get back, I’d be more than happy to welcome you."
"...."
’ So this was her aim from the start.’ Su Ping had to admit, she was pretty efficient. It was only now that he realized her aim, though he wasn’t completely sure whether she was just naive or really looking forward to spending time with him.
If not because he couldn’t sense her Lvl, which was another reason he found her strange, he would’ve used his Dark Dragon Eyes on her.
Since there was no point trying to refuse anymore, Su Ping accepted her act of kindness and thanked her before leaving. The horse cart left the city outskirts and soon made it into the forest vegetation.
Su Ping continued to stare at the sword in his hand, intrigued by the weapon. The hilt was nice and made it easier for one not to lose their grip, while the blades edge was strangely soothing to the touch.
’ I’ve never thought of using a weapon before. Till now I’ve been relying on my Dragon body and dark dragon eye’s.’
’ To use a sword in battle... I wonder what it would feel like.’ he stroked his chin while still admiring the blade.
’ Come to think of it.’ Su Ping’s mind suddenly recalled something.
’ Open inventory.’ Su Ping said and a black hole emerged Infront of him.
it remained at a fixed distance Infront of him, even though the cart was still moving.
He stole a glance at his two bodyguards and noticed they didn’t see anything.
Su Ping thought of what he wanted and it was spat out by the black hole.
A small iron chest emerged. Again, no one e
lse could see it besides Su Ping. He opened the chest and two cards emerged before his eyes, floating at a fixed distance.
