SSS Ranked Shadow Monarch: Summoning Infinite Shadows-Chapter 259: Wyverns

He walked up to the door and pulled it open, this time it opened normal, with nothing hidden behind it, the reason only a darkness, which he presumed they had to walk through.

"Let’s head in," Aren said to Athena.

She nodded, waiting for him to step in, Aren went in first and she followed behind.

The moment they did, they found themselves falling. The wind brushed against their faces hard, their hair fluttered all around.

Aren looked to his side first, ensuring that Athena was right beside him, and then he finally looked at where they were falling.

They passed through clouds rapidly, and when they finally passed through all the clouds, he saw a large land, it stretched out as far as the eyes could see, with grasses stretching as far as he could see, ponds and rivers flowing endlessly.

There was one major landmark which was there, a mountain, but this mountain had something very unique on it, a massive statue of an angel with its wings down and a sword in its hands stabbed into the mountain.

Aren looked at the statue, he knew that whatever they had to do was at the top of that mountain, so he pointed at it.

"Athena, let’s get as close as possible to that mountain."

She looked over to the mountain and nodded, they both angled their hands to their side, diving down like birds. But not long after Aren sensed something enter his shadow sense.

He looked up and saw some flying monsters headed their way rapidly, they looked like wyverns, their skin was made of purple and black scales, their wings stretching for more than fifteen feet wide.

"Shit, Athena get ready." Aren said, she looked up and saw the monsters headed their way.

One of the wyverns locked onto them, it opened its mouth and a ball of energy began forming, it was red and shined bright, sparking like it was made of lightning.

BOOM

The wyvern fired the attack, it ripped through the air extremely fast, heading for them.

"Athena!" Aren called out, she nodded and immediately attacked back with her chaos, both attacks slammed into each other mid air, causing a massive explosion.

"Nice work." Aren said, he looked down, "we can’t fight them in the air, let’s head down straight first," he instructed, she nodded and they both dove downward straight.

The wyverns saw them trying to escape, they all charged through the air at them, rushing extremely fast, their wings allowed them to move faster.

Aren could see each one inside his shadow sense, he waited until they all entered the range of his shadow sense then turned around in the air, facing them.

"Eat some of this." He yelled as his hands expelled a huge amount of lava, spraying into the air hot.

The wyverns immediately dispersed when they saw the lava, it allowed Aren and Athena get some more time to escape, but the wyverns regrouped again and this time tried to encircle the two of them.

"Shit, they are unrelenting, fighting in the air isn’t my strong suit sadly," Aren said, he unleashed a huge barrage of shadow arcs, he unleashed as much as he could, releasing hundreds into the air.

The wyverns all tried to dodge and evade, some were cut by the attack, none were killed, but it ultimately managed to slow down every single one of them, allowing Aren and Athena get closer to the ground.

When they got close to the ground Aren wrapped his hand around Athena and before creating shadow tendrils that shot from the ground and caught them, bringing them down safe.

When their feet touched the ground, Aren wasted no time, he pointed both hands upwards, lightning and flames twisted around his arms as he unleashed a powerful attack into the air above.

BOOM

The air trembled from the force of the attack. It slammed into multiple wyverns all at once, severely injuring them, and taking some down, they slammed into the ground hard.

"Athena, attack without regard, take down as many as you can." Aren instructed her. She nodded and opened her third eye instantly to attack.

A wyvern faced Aren after crashing to the ground, it opened its mouth and unleashed a terrifying roar, before attacking with a blast. 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖

Aren charged ahead, he leaped into the air, evading the blast, his eyes locked onto the neck of the wyvern, he unleashed a claw strike that cut through the air clean, it slashed into the neck, blood gushed out like a fountain, a dark red color.

RAWRRRRRRRRR! The monster cried out in pain, thrashing around in pain. Aren landed on the ground and then bent forward fast to finish it off, he was mid attack when another wyvern flew down attacking him, Aren immediately turned his attention to that one, the wyvern slammed into Aren, taking him up into the air fast.

"Don’t just pick me up when you feel like," Aren said before flipping onto the neck of the wyvern, creating a shadow tendril that he wrapped around the neck of the wyvern, using it to strangle it.

Raaaaaaaaawwwwwr

It cried, struggling to get away, but Aren held fast to it as they started plummeting down, they slammed into the ground hard, skidding across the grass, Aren pulled on the tendril even harder, and after a strong pull, he snapped the neck of the monster, its massive body came to a stop.

He came down from its body, looking over to Athena. He saw a wyvern coming at her, but before it could get close, she attacked with chaos, ripping right through its body, blasting half of it clean off.

Aren also noticed that he could see her chaos now, a reddish glow in the air when she attacked, it was faint, but visible. He had never seen it before, so now he wasn’t sure if it was a good or bad thing, he worried about that later though.

As for now, they had to deal with the rest of the wyverns.
