SSS-Ranked Skill in a New Filthy World-Chapter 207 Aurelia vs Elena
A smile formed on his face as he relaxed in the bath; it felt like he had regained all his lost energy. Instead of feeling tired, Roman was feeling rather fulfilled.
The maid lay there for a while, and Roman looked to find her asleep on the bathroom floor. The floor was sparkling clean and a little warm to the touch, making it perfect for sleeping. The only downside was the pain when she woke up.
Also, there wasn’t a maid at the door, which would call attention, so Roman let her rest for a little while and then woke her up.
Roman still couldn’t take his eyes off her body, but he couldn’t do anything about it; his curse was a part of it, but it was already morning, and he would be called anytime from now.
Roman wiped his body clean and put on his clothes as he stood by the window. The maid was back to her post, filled with joy; she couldn’t tell anyone what happened, but she didn’t care, as she knew it happened.
Roman saw different carriages arriving and nobles stepping off them. He could recognize some of the important ones, and then Victoria and Evelyn arrived.
Roman couldn’t tell what it was about them, something about their presence commands respect, he knew they were the strongest in the kingdom, even in the world, among humans that is.
If he had years of training, then he could probably surpass their level, but the problem was getting the years of training.
Roman pushed the door to his room open and stepped outside. Even before he was called, he began walking outside the palace.
He stood at the door of the palace and stood by the side watching, since it wasn’t yet time he just stood there looking around.
"Strange" Aurelia muttered from behind just enough for Roman to hear.
"What’s strange?" He asked as he turned around.
"You’re usually the last person to arrive, now you’re the first, something tells me you’re looking forward to winning me in a match" Aurelia spoke.
"I’m looking forward to winning anybody, and why do you think we’ll face each other? I don’t think your mother would want you to lose," Roman replied, and Aurelia chuckled.
Two guards stood there listening to their conversation, and they were shocked. Roman was casually talking about the Queen in front of the second princess, something a commoner wouldn’t dare to do.
"Are you planning to stay here?" She asked as she walked forward and Roman followed.
Most of the noble families had settled down in their seats while some were still talking, but the talking reduced as Roman passed by, and as he did, he turned towards them, watching all of them as he walked by.
His eyes landed on Ava’s mother, and she was smiling as she looked at him. Most of them scoffed as he passed, while some just looked at him, surprised at his nerves.
Aurelia and Roman sat down for a while, the rest of the girls joined them, and finally, the Queen arrived. All the students stood in the arena and bowed down to the Queen before the final five students stood at the center.
"Only five students remain. That means one student will not participate today, and the final match will be held tomorrow, with three students facing each other."
The announcer paused, letting the tension sink in.
"I will now announce today’s matches. The first match will be Princess Aurelia versus Elena Nightshade. The second match will be Roman versus Reina."
A smile formed on Roman’s face as Reina turned her gaze towards him...just yesterday they were joking about facing each other, and now it’s becoming a reality.
Roman nd Reina left the arena as their match was next, but first Aurelia and Elena.
Aurelia was already prepared as she went outside to wear her armor and pick up her sword, while Elena closed her eyes.
"Did you know we were going to face each other?" Reina asked.
"How would I know? I just guess that’s all," Roman replied.
"Should I throw the match, I can push a little, then lose on purpose," Reina said.
"Do you think you can win against me if we fought at our full strength?" Roman asked.
"I don’t see a way you could defeat my Iron Fang, even if you could, I wouldn’t let you. You might have a good strategy, but it’s different when you’re facing someone," Reina replied.
She was correct, he had two plans up his sleeves to counter her Iron Fang, but both plan success rates are less than 30%, there’s no guarantee he would win the fight, but he still didn’t want Reina to throw the match.
Both of them sat down as Aurelia and Elena stood facing each other with a bit of space in the center. Elena created even more space by moving backwards, but Aurelia didn’t mind; after all, she was fast.
The mages covered both of them and then covered the area with the barrier.
Aurelia looked away from Elena for a second and her eyes darted towards the Queen and her sister Faylen, and both of them were staring at her.
While Elena was well prepared, her eyes were calm and focused, as she knew this would be tough, her chances of winning were slim but not zero.
"Begin!" the announcer spoke, and Aurelia dashed forward the moment she heard the sound.
Her boots slammed against the arena sand as she closed the distance fast. She didn’t hesitate. Her sword flashed as she swung straight for Elena’s side.
Elena reacted instantly countering the attack.
[Blood Barrier]
Blood rose from her arm like liquid steel, forming a curved shield just in time. Aurelia’s blade struck it with a loud clang, sparks flying as her sword was pushed back.
Aurelia didn’t stop. She twisted her body and swung again, faster this time, but Elena knew what was happening. If she gave Aurelia the upper hand earlier on and tried blocking her attacks, then she could get a good counter.
