Chapter 1586: Exchanging Blows! (V)

The world domain enveloped the four corners; endless scarlet energy materialized within as well. It transformed into scarlet shadows balefully snarling in the void. All sorts of power of desire filled the chaos.

Celestial Pole and the Pagoda King were hit with some of that energy. Celestial Pole opened his mouth in a face-splitting yawn and looked ahead drowsily, wanting to drift off to sleep. Greed surfaced in the Pagoda King’s eyes, accompanied by a streak of madness. He really wanted to kill Celestial Pole and eat the man so he could ascend to third rank himself!

It was an instinctive reaction from the depths of his heart!

A seventh rank was so incredibly powerful that the two exalted emperors were instantly enshrouded by his power, despite being very far away. They immediately fell to his attack—even the shadow that’d been left behind showed signs of wavering. Greed appeared within it as well; it wanted to be the primary body and not just a replica!

Just as the seventh rank smiled with victory, a streak of sword light appeared beneath the heavens!

It soundlessly broke the domain and obliterated countless scarlet shadows. The red moon outright shattered as a person walked out of the gloom of the chaos. He wielded an intangible sword and looked aloofly at the exalted emperor in the distance.

“Desire? My desire is to kill you with one sword stroke,” he sneered. “Is that a strong enough desire?”

He raised his hand, lifted the sword, and slashed out an edge without form!

The chaos was his sword!

A myriad of daos spontaneously converged on the sword. As the domain crumbled to pieces, the seventh rank in the distance lifted his hand. The horde of scarlet shadows assimilated into one enormous dao puppet.

But it was viable for only a split second before it shattered as well. The very chaos seemed to explode when sword light flashed!

The Sword Sovereign didn’t make a sound.

A bloody mark was present on the Red Moon seventh rank’s face; he touched it with incredulity. Staring at the Sword Sovereign, he chuckled softly after a long moment, “The Sword Sovereign is well deserving of your renown, alright! But how many of these blows can you muster?”

The Sword Sovereign is very strong! He is able to break my domain, dao puppet, and harm me with one blow!

This person is unparalleled when it comes to offense! But how many of those attacks can you unleash?

No wonder they say that the New Martial Sword Sovereign is unrivaled in assaults and can easily strike down those beyond this level. We are all exalted emperors here, not weak cultivation levels of negligible strength!

But can you strike me down?

“How many? You’ll know if you try me!” snorted the Sword Sovereign. He seemed to pull a longsword out of the chaos when he unsheathed his weapon. His longsword was as if a great dao river; a myriad of daos soundlessly converged one more. A world was split apart when he drew it with a flourish and the sword domain materialized!

A myriad of daos transformed into a world that came down over the scene, enclosing the Red Moon seventh rank within!

A multitude of swords manifested—they were the only thing in the chaos and completely without a challenger!

Boom!

An enormous collision rang forth once more, the great dao trembled. A dao universe seemed to be upon them—the Red Moon dao universe!

“So what of a dao universe? Does it dare fully come here?” sounded the Sword Sovereign’s voice. “If the Red Moon master dares show himself, Red Moon will fall!”

There was no responding sound at all!

The Red Moon master had not come. If he did, the Red Moon main world would be left defenseless. Thus, he could not take the risk. If he moved off the world for a simple Sword Sovereign, he would be in unprecedented trouble once someone broke through the Red Moon main world defenses.

He might come if it was the Human King here, but it was not.

“Kill him!” The Red Moon master’s voice echoed through the void before quickly fading away. As strong as the Sword Sovereign was, he was only a sixth rank!

If there had been a New Martial seventh rank present, the Red Moon master would’ve taken the risk to strike down such a valuable enemy.

Within the sword domain, the seventh rank’s face flushed red as streaks of blood appeared over his body. He stared at the Sword Sovereign, a violent light in his eyes. Damn this man!

His dao domain combined a myriad of daos and fully rivaled what a seventh rank could bring to bear. Let’s see how long he can keep this up!

The seventh rank no longer had Celestial Pole or the Pagoda King in his eyes. Those two minions could run wherever they wished. Killing the Sword Sovereign would be the equivalent of killing a New Martial seventh rank!

“Hmph!” The Red Moon domain appeared again with a cold snort, as did the massive dao puppet. It smashed an infuriated punch upon the world, shaking the sword domain. Two towering surges of power crashed upon each other!

......

As a warship sped out of the scene, the befuddled Celestial Pole jerked to wakefulness. He flicked a glance at the Pagoda King and mumbled, “The fuck man? You wanted to eat me! You’re such a damned animal!”

“It’s a misunderstanding, this is all a misunderstanding!” The Pagoda King smiled ingratiatingly. “That’s the truth!”

Celestial Pole snorted dismissively, then broke out in a smile. “Let’s run. I’ll get you after we’re in the clear!”

He was used to it and thus, not as enraged as he might have been. The Pagoda King bore a very dark and shadowy heart. It was all too normal that the guy wanted to eat him after his desire had been stoked.

The Pagoda King smiled fawningly once more and summoned droplets of his blood essence. He burned them to power the ship, sending it forward as fast as possible without consideration of the cost.

The man grinned radiantly, doing everything he could to curry favor with Celestial Pole. See, although I wanted to eat you, it was just a thought. But now look at me, I’m burning my blood essence to make sure we escape. You don’t need to worry about a thing. Happy now?

Celestial Pole nodded. He was very happy! The Pagoda King was a good one, alright! He turned back for a look and immediately spat out a mouthful of fresh blood when he saw the sight behind them. It was added to the burning fuel for the ship.

There was nothing to be happy about anymore. There were two surges of power so immense behind them that the ripples were churning throughout the chaos! They would die to the fallout of this conflict if they didn’t get away soon!

Damn, the Sword Sovereign is really hot shit after all! He can go against a seventh rank! I just wonder how many blows he can manage. He was known for only one back in the day, but it’s been one thousand years since then. He’s gotta hold on for more now, right?

......

Sword light illuminated the void, a red moon hovered in the chaos.

Li Hao could sense the explosion of incomparable energy when two premier powerhouses exchanged blows, even though he was very far away. The Firmament Sword started vibrating in his river.

A swordsman! The Sword Sovereign!

The Sword Sovereign had appeared and was fighting a seventh rank! Since Li Hao had once wielded the power of a seventh rank, the young man could immediately identify it. Fog Mountain had not made a move against a Red Moon powerhouse yet, the Sword Sovereign was already in the field.

Sixth rank against seventh rank! A challenge to someone stronger!

Third ranks fighting fourth ranks were nearly unseen in the chaos, to say nothing of sixth versus seventh. Even Li Hao had never truly battled a fourth rank when he was a third rank. He only felt that he could win. Granted, that victory might come at the cost of a lot of time and effort.

As for sixth rank going against seventh rank... the idea had never occurred to him. But today, he saw it play out right in front of him. It was only an exchange of blows for the moment and not truly triumphing over someone with a higher cultivation. All the same, this was the stuff of dreams for untold sixth ranks.

Seventh rank was the hallmark of masters of the world and dao. They were high ranks and the tyrant of their locale!

“How terrifying!” Gan Wuliang suddenly materialized from the river and gaped at the sight. Despite being very far away from the conflict, he could sense the eruption of sword intent in battle. He himself was a master of dao and the key was, whether it was immaterial or corporeal dao, the shape that the dao stars assembled in was that of the sword.

This dao had much to do with the Sword Sovereign. Hence, the Sword Sovereign’s eruption made even Gan Wuliang’s dao tremble within his body. His meridians vibrated—the Sword Sovereign’s weapon was the fledgling form of the Silver Moon dao universe!

He knew who the New Martial combatant was without Li Hao needing to say anything. This was the New Martial Sword Sovereign!

He had been the master of Silver Moon fifty years ago and had an enormous impact on all Silver Moon heavyweights. This person was the undisputed greatest influence on Silver Moon.

Gan Wuliang immediately knew that the dao universe had much to do with this legendary character, as did Hong Yitang.

......

In another area of the universe.

Several exalted emperors surreptitiously traveled through the void; Hong Yitang’s body shuddered as he looked over in a particular direction. His eyes widened with shock. The Sword Sovereign!

His dao meridians were vibrating, much like Gan Wuliang’s had. The river of chaos within his body roiled, as if sensing the presence of its roots through the sword intent.

Not only that, but Hong Yitang immediately sensed a similar spot of presence in another part of the universe as the Sword Sovereign fought—Gan Wuliang! He was here!

So did that mean Li Hao was here as well?

Hong Yitang was both delighted and solemn. The Sword Sovereign was fighting a Red Moon powerhouse!

And the key was, it might be a Red Moon high rank. However, the Sword Sovereign... wasn’t a high rank, was he?

It would be a waste of their time in the chaos if they still didn’t know how strong a high rank was at this point. This was an insurmountable cultivation level in the eyes of all exalted emperors—a mountain too high to climb.

And yet, the Sword Sovereign had taken action.

“Hurry!” Hong Yitang growled. “Go toward the primary body of Senior Celestial Pole. The marquis has also come back with everyone else. We need to meet up with the New Martial duo so they can locate us!”

The newly surrendered trio of exalted emperors were nearly gibbering with panic. The New Martial Sword Sovereign was crazy, wasn’t he?! How dare he fight a seventh rank?? This was who the Dragon Observatory and rest had wanted to hunt down?! Who were they kidding??

Although there had been several sixth ranks, as well as fourth and fifth ranks among them, just the Sword Sovereign’s aura and strength of sword intent... meant that the leader of Dragon Observatory wouldn’t amount to much, would he?

How could the Sword Sovereign be so strong??

If Skyward’s four sixth ranks encountered this one, he’d probably cut them all down with one stroke each, wouldn’t he?
