He was up against two fifth ranks and one sixth rank. The new addition bore a unique presence as well. It didn’t seem to be from a dao universe, but more like a latent sense of emptiness...

He guessed the newcomer’s identity at this time—the implications were horrifying!

Was Light involved in this from the shadows?

He would be even less inclined to be involved then. Or rather, he wouldn’t dare be involved. Ripples filled the void.

Li Hao tilted his head at the signs heralding someone shifting through the void. A light glinted in his eyes as he quickly left with his group.

The void broke apart as soon as they departed; three exalted emperors were upon the scene!

Soul Eclipse sneered—their quarry had sharp senses! It looked like this newly ascended fourth rank had some skill up his sleeve. But how far could he run?

“Master Soul Eclipse, should we split up?” Spirit Terror asked in a low voice. A fourth rank on the run was difficult to chase down. It would be much easier if they covered separate routes.

Soul Eclipse thought for a moment. Should they split up?

No matter what, Myriad Dao was someone who’d already killed two fourth ranks. His true battle strength neared fifth rank, even if it wasn’t quite at that level yet. It would be slightly dangerous to take separate paths.

“Why... did they split into two groups?” Void was highly confused.

“We.... overestimated ourselves!” Li Hao realized after a pause.

What did he mean?

Void blinked, then realized what the young man meant. A strange look developed on his face as well. We’ve overestimated ourselves!

They felt that it would be very, very hard for their opponents to kill them. Why would the enemy take the further risk of splitting up?

“Pfft, it’s so easy this way!” Li Hao didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. Void shook his head with a similarly bemused grin.

We really think well of ourselves, huh? What a pity that they don’t think the same of us. We need to remember this next time. We’re just fourth ranks leading a motley crew of low ranks in someone else’s eyes.”

Fourth rank Li Hao wasn’t weak, but that was all there was to him. He wasn’t strong enough to the point of inducing wariness in a major world exalted emperor.

“Shake off the sixth rank and go towards the two fifth ranks. Brother Void will outright kill one of them in a moment. Me and the rest will join hands to kill the other!”

There was nothing to hesitate over now. Void nodded, already champing at the bit. This was just an appetizer.

If he wasn’t worried about causing the plan to fail if he moved too quickly, he’d want to erupt with everything he had at first light. He’d toss out the world of emptiness as soon as he moved forward and silence them. Li Hao could then petrify them with time!

All three of them would be dead in two seconds.

If that didn’t work, they could repeat old tactics and help the Sword Sovereign recover a few times. They’d wipe out Orchid Forest!

Ever since jointly killing a seventh rank, both Li Hao and Void’s egos had immensely inflated. And with their strength... they had the right to be so in front of their opponents.

“Keep running, why don’t you!” sneered Spirit Terror and Life Cling. The two of them had headed off in another direction and were nearly face-to-face with their targets.

There was a sixth rank supporting the group!

“A fourth rank weapon is not bad at all,” chuckled Spirit Terror. “Apparently, there’s a domain inside. That puts it on par with a fifth rank weapon. If the world master doesn’t want it, do you think whoever makes the kill first among the three of us will have the highest chance of getting it?”

Life Cling’s eyes shone with greed, but he didn’t say anything. He wanted it too, yet it likely belonged to Soul Eclipse.

Spirit Terror clearly had some designs, but he needed to take a step back and realize that there was a sixth rank leading them.

“Even if we can’t get it, there’s a seventh rank domain within the weapon,” transmitted Spirit Terror when he saw his comrade remain silent. “Studying it for a while might prove very beneficial to us.”

Life Cling nodded. Now that was true. While Red Moon had had many seventh ranks in the past, they weren’t willing to easily display their domains for study.

“This can wait until after we kill them...” chuckled Life Cling. “The dao strength of fourth rank is very dense. Killing him and sharing his dao strength is our true spoils of battle!”

Anything else would be difficult to lay their hands on.

Spirit Terror nodded. The two picked up speed and flew toward Li Hao’s escape route.

Presences rose all over Orchid Forest.

Quite a few people hovered in the sky, waiting to watch the show. Many shook their heads when they saw three immensely strong exalted emperors rapidly shrink the available range of space that Myriad Dao could flee to. The wandering cultivators were done for!

This was so boring; it looked like the rest of them wouldn’t even have a chance to salvage anything.

They’d thought that Myriad Dao would have some tricks up his sleeves. Maybe... the seventh rank behind him would be willing to show up?

“Should we help?” frowned Heaven Rite.

Yan Fang didn’t say anything.

A fifth rank next to them snorted, “Help? Help with what? Heaven Rite, do you know who that is? It’s Soul Eclipse of Red Moon!”

Heaven Rite and didn’t respond. These assholes of the dao master’s faction... were really annoying. Three Red Moon exalted emperors are on our territory to hunt down exalted emperors that we’ve hired. No matter what Myriad Dao’s true goal or identity is, he represents Orchid Forest at the moment.
