Star Gate-Chapter 1648: Devastating Losses (II)

“Ignore him!” Yan Fang’s voice traveled into Heaven Rite’s ears as the latter grappled with indignation. “He’ll get his soon enough! All of these people will be purged when Orchid Forest ascends!”

Yan Fang’s expression didn’t change, but Heaven Rite’s heart quailed!

“Just sit back and watch the show. The situation’s not as bad as it seems. We can’t do anything to those of Red Moon, but if any unexpected developments take place, we can hold back anyone else who wishes to get involved!”

Heaven Rite was still reeling. Was there something he wasn’t aware of? The world master and Elder Yan seemed to be plotting something; Myriad Dao could be a critical part of their plans.

Yan Fang said no more and went back to silently observing. He wanted to see how strong Myriad Dao’s group was, how many trump cards they had up their sleeves, and how they would ensure that Red Moon only sent more sixth ranks and not a seventh rank.

His eyes narrowed when he saw that the group was about to encounter the two fifth ranks! Yan Fang focused intensely and didn’t move. They were up against fifth ranks! Would they die?

Everyone was watching. The Orchid Forest master and Yan Fang wanted to see how long the two Red Moon fifth ranks would live. The wandering cultivators and three major worlds wanted to see how long Myriad Dao could hold out, if a seventh rank would come in person...

The two sides were about to clash!

“Keep running, why don’t you!” Spirit Terror’s harsh laughter rang through the world. “You’re a bunch of clowns that don’t know what’s good for you!”

Out of places to run to, aren’t you?

“Kill them!” Li Hao roared. “Killing them is our only chance of survival. Confrontation is unavoidable, so may the most valiant one win!”

Boom!

A bunch of exalted emperors rushed the two fifth ranks. The void shattered to pieces. Everyone watched nervously, astounded by the nerve displayed by Myriad Dao’s group. Even their low ranks had the audacity to charge against two major world fifth ranks!

The audience had to give it to them, this was a group full of brave souls.

Spirit Terror shouted angrily and sent a surge of horrifying might through the air. The great dao trembled. Apart from Li Hao and Void, shocked expressions spread across everyone else’s face.

Their souls seemed to be petrified with fear!

Meanwhile, Life Cling cackled. His laughter spread with ripples of his great dao and a singular thought appeared in the minds of Gan Wuliang and the rest.

I don’t want to die!

I really don’t want to die!

They felt an urge to surrender, kill Li Hao, join Red Moon, and preserve their lives. They wanted to cling to life!

Life Cling’s dao wasn’t a function of itself wishing to cling to life, but the inducement of a desire in others to cling to life.

Red Moon’s dao was certainly much more than one realized. Even though these exalted emperors knew that they were sure to win, at least with how the situation stood right now, they couldn’t help but wonder—that’s an eighth rank world. What if we lose?

We’d die!

Under the influence of an unstable mind and an overwhelming desire to live, Li Hao’s group suddenly moved with less conviction. These fifth ranks of a major world were stronger than they’d anticipated!

Even Gan Wuliang grappled with himself. He vibrated his dao strength, wearing away at the notions trying to take over his mind. He knew he’d fallen victim to the enemy’s attack, but it was difficult to suppress the thoughts nonetheless.

The two fifth ranks of major worlds had demonstrated their might at first light. All low ranks were not worthy of mention to them. They were just fish on a chopping block when Red Moon dao strength was in use!

Spirit Terror smiled. Apart from Myriad Dao, none of the rest were worth anything. And they wanted to mob the two of them?

You guys don’t have the right to do so!

The Red Moon duo appeared in front of Li Hao’s group in the blink of an eye.

“They’re done for!” Everyone else in Orchid Forest shook their heads. The sixth rank Yu Xiu shook his head, as did the exalted emperors of the three major worlds and some of the exalted emperors hidden in the darkness.

This was so boring!

It’d been too easy. Myriad Dao’s group hadn’t stood a chance. The rest of them had wanted to try and fish in troubled waters, but they hadn’t even had the chance to. Myriad Dao was so useless!

Granted, it was also that Red Moon was too strong. Any exalted emperor was brought under their sway when they appeared.

Within the dao universe, the Orchid Forest master shook his head as well. How boring! He wouldn’t be able to determine the true strength of the Light crown prince or Silver Moon king in this manner. He wouldn’t be able to probe where the Sword Sovereign was hiding either.

The two fifth ranks materialized with joy on their faces. Spirit Terror outright reached for Li Hao, Red Moon strength flooding out with strength to control the soul. Life Cling made for the other exalted emperors, seeking to annihilate them all.

A sword manifested in this moment and flames seared the air!

Spirit Terror snorted, completely unsurprised. I knew you wouldn’t be that easy to control. Your domain is nowhere to be seen yet.

“Let me get a taste of your domain!” he smiled.

I’ve been waiting for you! If the domain within your sword can suppress me, then it belongs to an eighth rank, not a seventh rank.

“As you wish!” Li Hao bellowed, summoning the domain. It came into being stronger than before as he’d greatly perfected his world of fire. When he and Lin Hongyu dismantled those two dao nets, he’d also used the opportunity to improve upon his world of fire.

The domain took shape as a ferocious tiger and pounced on the enemy!

Spirit Terror responded with a shout and unleashed his dao strength. The overwhelming power that could petrify one’s heart once more appeared. Even the tiger was shaken!

It snarled, erupting in flames laced with dense killing intent.

Boom!

A massive collision sounded throughout the world when the two daos collided. Spirit Terror was surprised by the strength of his opponent. As expected of a seventh rank heritage! There was something to that knowledge.

It was fine, Life Cling would eliminate the others quickly enough. Hopefully I can kill this guy before he’s done on his end. He’s gonna laugh at me if I don’t.

The thought had just taken form when Life Cling paused mid attack.

The composed Void had made his move—not with the world of emptiness or power of light, but a wave of enormously concentrated death qi! It covered the world and shook Orchid Forest with its indomitable presence!

Hell had descended upon the void!

Death qi encircled Life Cling and surged into the man’s body. His Red Moon dao was spontaneously overlaid. Void was as if an envoy from hell or a divine spirit within it.

“Those who bitterly cling to life and are terrified of death should be eradicated!” he murmured.

It took only a moment for Life Cling’s vitality to ebb from his body; he withered in a heartbeat. Life Cling was suddenly a death spirit as his body spontaneously decayed into nothing. His dao mark was on display!

Void wasn’t the least bit surprised by this demonstration. These people were so arrogant to draw so close as fifth ranks. He was a sixth rank and his death qi had completely enveloped them. It would be a disgrace to his own name if they didn’t die.

It took another split second for death qi to enshroud the Red Moon dao mark.

“A sixth rank!” Life Cling realized with terror. How was this possible?! Where did a sixth rank come from??

“A sixth rank!!”

“Stop!”

Shock and anger rippled through the scene. Soul Eclipse in the rear was furious, the other exalted emperors were shocked. A sixth rank had appeared! Myriad Dao had sixth ranks under his command!

No, perhaps this sixth rank was the true leader, and he was an exalted emperor of death!

The reactions were too late.

Just as Soul Eclipse sped through the void in a mad rage, Life Cling’s Red Moon dao mark broke apart inch by inch. The man’s shadow jerked with growing fear and astonishment; countless thoughts had appeared in his mind.

Surrender!

His dao was recoiling onto him. Life Cling was accustomed to making others fear death; the effects were the same on him. He’d never been so out of his mind with horror before.

Death surfaced and Void walked through it. His long sleeves drifted through the wind with dashing flair, as if he was truly a god of death descended upon the mortal plane. Having just opened her eyes, Lin Hongyu looked on with amazement.

The power of death!

She wielded life and death as well. But when faced with Void, she suddenly felt that her power of death was but a drop of water in the ocean.

The gap between them was too great!

Pure power of death enveloped Life Cling’s dao and snapped it in the blink of an eye. Void tapped the air with a finger.

Crunch!

A red moon—no, a black moon suffused with the strength of death shattered!

Life Cling died, infinite terror writ large in his eyes.

A powerful fifth rank had lasted only a moment in Void’s hands before dying on the spot. Next to him, Spirit Terror paled with horror!

A sixth rank?? Impossible! Where could one come from??

At the same time, a dao universe seemed ready to force its way into Orchid Forest with Life Cling’s death.

The Orchid Forest master’s eyes widened and he shook the dao universe with a grunt. The strength of a myriad daos gathered and his voice tolled like a bell. “Please quell your anger, Red Moon master! This is Orchid Forest territory and a sixth rank of death has just killed a fifth rank.

“There is no need for Red Moon assistance. Orchid Forest can handle a sixth rank of death! Our deepest thanks for your aid, but we do have the ability to fight back!”

The Orchid Forest master’s face was grave, yet his voice boomed commandingly through the dao universe. He refused to mention that it was a Red Moon exalted emperor that’d just died. Although that was public knowledge, what of it?

He used the alliance as an excuse to warn the Red Moon master that he could not forcefully send their dao universe here. If he did, Orchid Forest would struggle to the death, even if their struggles would be in vain.

It’s just a sixth rank, not a seventh rank. What are you coming for?
