Throughout the three major megaverses, how many could even perceive karma? It was an extremely small number. Even the Origin Progenitor and Mister Mu were only able to sense it, but they were unable to resist or observe it.

Even the High Seraph had not fully mastered karma, which was why Lu Yin had had the time and opportunity to awaken Zhao Ran through karma.

As for Jiang Qi, he was actually able to avoid karma, but how was that possible?

Was it an innate gift? Some sort of battle technique? His cultivation method? No, it was none of those.

Lu Yin had already learned everything that there was to know about Jiang Qi after he joined the Grandverse Manor, but there was nothing with any sort of connection to karma.

Actually, after thinking about the matter, it became clear to Lu Yin that Jiang Qi had nothing with any sort of karma ability. No matter how powerful his battle techniques, cultivation method, or innate gifts might be, there was no way for any of those things to avoid Lu Yin’s Inner Clarity Technique. No one could surpass their own realm by that much.

Lu Yin could not make any sense of the situation, no matter how hard he thought about it.

Jiang Qi had to remain aboard Boundless, close to Lu Yin’s side.

Whether the young man had intentionally approached Lu Yin or done so unknowingly, even if he was the High Seraph himself in disguise or the megaverse’s Fated One, Jiang Qi had to remain aboard Boundless.

One day, someone visited Boundless, claiming to be seeking a friend. They were looking for Zhan Yan.

There was a place on Boundless that had once been a library, but it had been burned down by the mad headmaster. More recently, the building had been reconstructed as a manor.

Inside the manor, Lu Yin was looking at a middle-aged man. "A member of the Zhan family?"

The middle-aged man met Lu Yin’s gaze. "I am Zhan Hua. I am Zhan Yan's uncle.

"May I ask if you are the ruler of the Tianyuan Megaverse?"

Lu Yin nodded. Yuan Qi and Lao Tao were both standing behind him.

"Do you know if Zhan Yan is here?"

Zhan Hua replied, "If she’s not already dead, then she is definitely here."

"State your purpose," Lu Yin casually demanded.

The Gate of Laws’ Zhan family was a behemoth in the Spirit Nidus, and Zhan Hua’s arrival at Boundless had already drawn a considerable amount of attention. There were many who were waiting for the results of the conversation between the Gate of Laws and Boundless.

The Primal Beastland had become one of Boundless’s enemies long ago. If the Gate of Laws was also offended, then the Spirit Nidus would truly be filled with enemies of Boundless. After all, Heavenspire belonged to the High Seraph.

Zhan Hua stared at Lu Yin, and the man’s voice dropped low. "I would like to know how Zhan Yan is doing. Let me see her."

Lu Yin arched a brow and looked away. "The last person to speak to me like that is already dead."

Zhan Hua frowned. "I did not mean any disrespect."

Lu Yin replied, "But I require blatant respect."

Zhan Hua stared at Lu Yin. "Do you understand that I represent the Gate of Laws?"

"Zhan Yan told me the same thing."

Zhan Hua was quickly realizing how difficult this Third Boss was to speak to. "I know that Boundless represents the Tianyuan Megaverse in our Spirit Nidus. If I’m not mistaken, you already have Yuan Qi under your control. He’s just a facade for your megaverse’s faction. The real game that your megaverse is playing is against the High Seraph.

"You know about the Spirit Nidus’s goal, and while I admire your courage to enter the Spirit Nidus, that won’t be enough to prevent the Tianyuan Megaverse from being reset.

"You’re already enemies of the Primal Beastland, as well as with the High Seraph. If you continue down this path and become enemies with my Gate of Laws, there will be no one in the Spirit Nidus who will ally with you.

"Since your megaverse is destined to be reset, I believe that your true goal is to ensure that a group of Tianyuan cultivators will survive. This is that group, and you’ve brought them here to secure your future position in the Spirit Nidus."

Lu Yin laughed. "You’ve said a lot, but I don’t understand what you’re getting at."

Zhan Hua said, "You think that by demonstrating your power, you will force the High Seraph to hesitate. That you will be able to delay the Tianyuan Megaverse’s reset and will be able to elevate your status in the Spirit Nidus. How naive!

"The Spirit Nidus has a unified cultivation system, and the allocations of all resources has already been perfected. Your arrival means that you will be competing with everyone for the same amount of resources. No one will help you, aside from our Gate of Laws. We don’t need any resources because sequence bases are one of the foundations of the Spirit Nidus. No matter how many resources are up for grabs, such competitions will never affect us. That’s why we alone can help you."

Lu Yin sighed. "Again, you’ve said a lot, but I still don’t understand your point. Just tell me what price you’re willing to pay for Zhan Yan to be returned to you."

Zhan Hua's eyes lit up. "So, she isn’t dead."

Lu Yin nodded with a smile. "How could I bear to let such an adorable and energetic girl die?"

Zhan Hua let out a sigh of relief. "As I’ve already told you, we can help you gain a foothold in the Spirit Nidus."

"I don't want empty words. I'll give you one last chance. Waste my time with more empty talk, and I'll have you tied and hung up beside Yu Shan," Lu Yin threatened.

Zhan Hua grew furious. He wanted to retort, but after a moment’s thought, he restrained himself. Hearing the name Yu Shan had sobered the man up. The man ranked second on the White Spirit List and was also the High Seraph’s own disciple. Despite all of that, Yu Shan had been tied up in front of Boundless. He had been put on display in a pitiful manner, and the Third Boss had even threatened to force the High Seraph to beg for his disciple’s release. This Third Boss was lawless, but he was also extraordinarily powerful. So long as the Zhan family did not have Zhan Yan with them, it would not be wise to directly confront this young man.

These thoughts caused Zhan Hua to take a deep breath and calm himself. "What do you wish for you to agree to release Zhan Yan?"

Lu Yin thought for a moment. "I don't know right now, but first, give me a sequence base to play with."

Zhan Hua was stunned, and his face started twitching. A sequence base… to play with?

Was it even appropriate to speak of “playing” with a sequence base? The entire Spirit Nidus only had ten known sequence bases. They were one of the cornerstones of their civilization. This Third Boss was far too arrogant.

"You people from the Tianyuan Megaverse have no idea how difficult it is to create a sequence base! How many lives have been sacrificed," Zhan Hua forced through his gritted teeth.

Lu Yin scoffed. "What does that have to do with me? Just give me a sequence base to play with, or you can forget about taking Zhan Yan back."

Zhan Hua suppressed his anger. "Zhan Yan is the jewel of my Zhan family! A genius who can help us take the title of Seraph, but that does not mean that she is the only one. You should be cautious. If you insist on such a price, the Zhan family will abandon Zhan Yan."

"Then get lost." Lu Yin waved his hand, and a golden cudgel suddenly appeared and swept out.

Zhan Hua was startled. He had not expected these people to turn on him so quickly. Sequence particles appeared in front of him. They were of the Law of Devouring.

The golden cudgel smashed into the sequence particles, and Zhan Hua was instantly sent flying from the first blow, coughing up blood as he tumbled through the air.

Zhan Hua might be a powerful sequence powerhouse, but he was still greatly inferior to Sovereign Dou Sheng.

It did have to be noted that he cultivated the Devouring sequence technique, which was the same as Yi Xia’s.

Zhan Yan had supported the Aeternals at the Immemorial Citadel. The Zhan family had long been an enemy of the Tianyuan Megaverse, as was the entire Spirit Nidus.

Lu Yin had never considered allying with any Spirit Nidus organization. In this place, he would only consider using people and gaining benefits from them. There was nothing else, which made things simple.

Since Lu Yin already had Zhan Yan as his captive, he was not afraid of the Zhan family trying to make trouble.

Zhan Hua was swept off of Boundless by one attack. He flew a great distance before finally stopping. Blood dripped from his mouth as he glared angrily at Boundless.

This is outrageous! Absolutely outrageous! How dare this Boundless treat me and my Gate of Laws with such disrespect? If not for the fact that Zhan Yan was their captive, Zhan Hua would already have led powerful experts from the Gate of Laws to destroy the battleship.

Not even the High Seraph would dare to treat Zhan Hua so disgracefully.

This was unacceptable.

The surrounding cultivators who had been watching Boundless were all shocked. Even a representative of the Gate of Laws had been thrown off of the ship. This was too arrogant. Boundless truly feared no one and was willing to offend anyone.

Back aboard Boundless, Lu Yin asked, "Did you hear all of that?"

Zhan Yan stepped out, staring at Lu Yin’s back. "What exactly do you want?"

Lu Yin stood up. "Nothing. I just don’t trust them."

"You won’t trust anyone in this place," Zhan Yan said.

Lu Yin turned to look at the woman. "Which is why you can’t leave."

Zhan Yan felt utterly helpless as she realized that she truly could not leave.

She held complicated feelings towards Lu Yin, and she also had no idea what the man was really thinking.

Did she hate him? That was not the case at all. They had stood on opposite sides from the beginning, and there was no need for such unnecessary emotions. Lu Yin had helped her survive a game of death, and at the time, she had felt a bit grateful to him. That gratitude had complicated her feelings about the man, though that gratitude had disappeared when she learned that Yuan Qi was still alive.

Yuan Qi had not died, and neither had she, which meant that the game they had played had been staged.

"There are too many old monsters hidden in the Gate of Laws. While those experts don’t actually belong to the Gate of Laws, to some extent, the Gate of Laws can direct them," Zhan Yan reminded.

Lu Yin did not care at all. "Don’t worry about that. As long as you’re in my hands, they won’t dare make a move, and they’ll even have to listen to me."

Zhan Yan felt helpless. She understood that she had been forced to reveal the secret of the key, but that secret had become Lu Yin's greatest leverage.

After all, both the Gate of Laws and the High Seraph wanted to obtain her key.

However, for all intents and purposes, the key was in Lu Yin's hands.

The Hundred Grasses Domain slowly regained its past popularity. The Grandverse Manor’s proclamation of new rules for the domain encouraged many people to start searching for seeds in the Hundred Grasses Universe. However, because the Grandverse Manor was openly opposing the High Seraph, few people actually made the trip, as they were afraid of being implicated.

Many people were waiting to see how the Gate of Laws would respond.

Zhan Hua had been thrown off of Boundless, which had humiliated the Gate of Laws. They would not simply let the Grandverse Manor get away with such a slight.

If the Gate of Laws cooperated with the Primal Beastland and Heavenspire, it would be impossible to predict which experts would be sent. The only thing certain was that it would be a lineup impressive enough to shake the entire era.

More and more people started to gather in the Hundred Grasses Domain, waiting for the show to unfold.

However, the Gate of Laws made no response.

As people were waiting for the Gate of Laws, no one stepped forward to join the Grandverse Manor. Lu Yin quickly discovered that this was because someone had started secretly coordinating various organizations to form a blockade in the Hundred Grasses Domain. Everyone was being prevented from joining the Grandverse Manor.

While people lacked the courage to directly attack Boundless, the Grandverse Manor only had influence within the Hundred Grasses Domain. Unless Boundless took specific action, it would be impossible to remove the blockade.

As long as Boundless was cut off from the outside world, no one would be able to join them.

While the major families and sects did not know why the Grandverse Manor wanted to recruit desperate individuals, it only seemed proper to prevent Boundless from doing as it wished.

"I’ll go out and handle this," Sovereign Dou Sheng stated.

Lu Yin dismissed the offer with a wave of his hand. "Wait a little more."

Several days later, news arrived. It was a list of names of people from various domains.

Lu Yin looked up. His expression had grown cold. "It's time to make our move."

The Mang Mountain Domain was one of the thirty-six domains that Boundless had sailed through. It was home to one sect and one family.

The sect was known as Zhenyu Sect, and it accepted only female disciples. As for the family, their surname was Nie.

The Zhenyu Sect and Nie family had teamed up to control the Mang Mountain Domain, granting them the resources of the entire domain.

Although the Mang Mountain Domain was not of any particular importance out of the thirty-six domains, it was still a domain.

In the Mang Mountain Domain, there was a vast underground lake between the Zhenyu Sect and the Nie family. Beneath the lake stood a villa, and it was home to a man and a woman.

The man was Nie Fei, the Nie family’s ancestor. The woman was Qi Yan, the founding elder of the Zhenyu Sect.

Hardly anyone knew that the Zhenyu Sect and the Nie family’s cooperation was because the two factions had been founded by a married couple. The two had separated in order to establish the Zhenyu Sect and found the Nie family. Their goal had been to avoid intimidating others by creating the impression that the Mang Mountain Domain was controlled by two powerful organizations, when the truth was that there was only one.
