Star Odyssey-Chapter 3675: Settling Accounts
Chapter 3675: Settling Accounts
The Spirit Nidus served as a barrier for the Nine Odysseys Megaverse, allowing them to rule over the three megaverses. Without the Spirit Nidus, who would the Nine Odysseys Megaverse target next? The Tianyuan Megaverse was the most likely.
Lu Yin had once considered resetting the Spirit Nidus if the opportunity arose. He was no saint, and since the Spirit Nidus was trying to reset his home megaverse, he had thought about resetting the Spirit Nidus instead. However, given all the new information that he had received, it was clear that nothing could be allowed to happen to the Spirit Nidus.
At least, not yet.
The tragic fate of the cultivators in the River Domain and the other domains could not be repeated. If it did, the Spirit Nidus itself would lose value.
At present, the people of the Nine Odysseys Megaverse cultivated by harvesting the Spirit Nidus. If the Spirit Nidus was unable to keep up with the Nine Odysseys Megaverse’s demand, then the Nine Odysseys Megaverse would inevitably look to the Tianyuan Megaverse.
With a heavy exhale, Lu Yin looked up at the sky. In the past, his opponents were human, and he fought for his life, battling against “the heavens,” which was merely a fight for survival. But now, his opponent was an entire megaverse, a monstrous force that loomed above, devouring everything beneath it. This truly was a battle against the heavens.
He raised a hand and resumed rolling his die.
While he could simply leave Boundless, leaving so soon after being supposedly injured would be much too conspicuous.
The die slowly came to a stop, landing on four pips. Lu Yin’s eyes lit up; he was in luck.
He entered his Timestop Space. He had originally wanted to finish melting all the spirit seeds that he had acquired, but after his recent conversation, he could also cultivate Ru Shi's Wayfinder Sutra.
Lu Yin had never been afraid of cultivating too many powers or techniques. He simply treated Ru Shi's Wayfinder Sutra as a method for training his mental condition. In fact, Lu Yin was worried that, due to his cultivation advancing too quickly, his mental condition would not be able to keep up. That was why he had not yet attempted to break through and become a Sequence Progenitor.
Only when his mind was completely stable would Lu Yin even consider breaking through. He had believed that that day was in the distant future, but Ru Shi's Wayfinder Sutra had accelerated the projected time frame.
It was time for him to consider his own sequence particles.
Cultivators from the Tianyuan Megaverse never limited themselves to cultivating a single law when comprehending their sequence particles. The Three Realms and Six Daos had all developed their own destructive sequence particles, and Lu Yin would do the same.
As the scenery changed around him, Lu Yin returned to reality and resumed rolling his die: one pip, Pilfer. Two pips, Blackhole Disassembly. Four pips, Timestop. He returned to his Timestop Space and continued cultivating.
He rolled his die again and again; four rolls were followed by ten days of rest, which continued repeating.
More than a month passed, and during that time, Lu Yin rolled Timestop on five separate occasions, obtaining what amounted to five years of secluded training. Only after that did he succeed in converting all of the spirit seeds to liquid.
While he did not have a vast amount of the liquid spirit seeds on the landmass in his inner universe, it was a great deal more than before. He had enough to envelop his entire body now.
In the past, the liquid had only been enough for him to coat his hands. With a bit of effort, he might have barely managed to envelop his entire body in a thin layer, but he was finally able to comfortably coat himself.
For the moment, this was enough.
To the outside world, Lu Yin had been recuperating in seclusion for four months after being injured. Enough time had passed that he could leave again.
He contacted Ru Guo, telling the man to prepare. At the same time, Lu Yin himself made his way to the Heavencraft Domain.
He left Boundless, but he only briefly lingered above the Ark Domain before leaving the domain.
Word of his movements quickly spread. Lu Yin was different from other Seraphs, as every move that he made could influence the entire Spirit Nidus. On top of that, no one knew what he might do next.
In the Ascendant Hall, Lan reported the movement to the High Seraph, as well as the direction that Lu Yin had left in.
The High Seraph looked in the same direction. “The Heavencraft Domain.”
Sure enough, Lu Yin’s target was the Heavencraft Domain.
Yue Ya had tried to drag Lu Yin up to the Nine Odysseys Megaverse by using spirit thread from the Heavencraft Domain. During that confrontation, the “灵” character that was formed by the Spirit Nidus had reacted. It was clearly tied to the Heavencraft Domain. Naturally, Lu Yin needed to collect the debt that had been created.
After Ling Zuo had returned from the expedition, he had secretly led a group out of the Heavencraft Domain. The atmosphere in the domain had felt off for the following months.
Young disciples were constantly being sent away, and all production of spirit thread had ceased. Ling Zuo had even started to personally teach disciples on how to produce spirit thread, and many old veterans who had been believed to be dead for years were suddenly reappearing. Not only that, but each one selected suitable candidates and assisted with their training.
No matter how one looked at things, it appeared as if the domain was preparing for its end.
The chubby young man, Ling Tong, had been sent away long ago.
As soon as word that Lu Yin had left the Ark Domain arrived, Ling Zuo immediately ordered all members of the Heavencraft Domain’s younger generations to leave. They were told not to return without explicit orders.
By the time Lu Yin arrived in the Heavencraft Domain, only Ling Zuo and other older cultivators remained, as well as the common craftsmen. Not a single youth of the Ling family remained, regardless of whether they were a member of the direct line or a branch line.
The Heavencraft Domain trembled. Lu Yin’s arrival was too great a burden for the domain to bear.
The elderly cultivators, including Ling Zuo, looked up at Lu Yin with calm expressions. freёnovelkiss-com
They had not witnessed the events that had played out in the Northmount Domain, but seeing Lu Yin here made it clear to them that their Heavencraft Domain could not escape. Their deaths were inevitable. Since they were destined to die, there was nothing left for them to fear.
Lu Yin looked down from high above. He spotted Ling Zuo and the few elders who stood beside him.
“It looks like you’ve been waiting for me for quite some time.”
Ling Zuo looked up at Lu Yin with a complicated expression. “What do you intend to do, Seraph Lu?”
Lu Yin’s gaze swept the Heavencraft Domain. “All of your youths have fled, making you feel bold. Do you not fear death?”
“The Heavencraft Domain has contributed greatly to the Spirit Nidus by producing spirit threads. Do you intend to destroy us, Seraph Lu?” an old man shouted, his eyes fearless. He had long outlived his time, and death no longer held any terror for him. After all, he had no way to live any longer regardless of what happened today.
Someone who should have died long ago would never fear death.
Lu Yin flicked a finger. The elder was not even able to react before his body simply exploded, spraying his blood across the ground.
Besides where the old man had just been standing, Ling Zuo and the others stared blankly at his blood on the ground, the air thick with its sudden stench.
“How domineering, Seraph Lu. This old woman acknowledges your strength. We are unable to resist. So go on, attack again. We’ll see if any in the Heavencraft Domain fear death.” An old woman spoke up, her weathered visage facing Lu Yin, her eyes cold enough to chill bone.
Ling Zuo’s brow furrowed as he looked back up at Lu Yin. “Seraph Lu, there are some things that the Heavencraft Domain had no choice but to do, things beyond our ability to decide. I hope that our deaths will be enough to slake your anger. From this moment on, let there be no more enmity between you and our domain.”
Lu Yin clasped his hands behind his back. “I’m the kind of person who likes to completely root things out. How long can the rest of your Heavencraft Domain keep running? Even if they do escape, as long as I live, the Heavencraft Domain will never recover. How long can they endure? Time is the most terrifying poison.”
Ling Zuo’s eyes narrowed. “What happened in the Northmount Domain has nothing to do with anyone else. Everyone who was involved in that matter is already here. Why must you drag the innocent into this, Seraph Lu?”
Lu Yin smiled. “Because I want to.”
Ling Zuo had no response for that. Could they resist? That was impossible. The Heavencraft Domain was incapable of withstanding even one of Lu Yin’s fingers.
His oppressive attitude loomed over the Heavencraft Domain. If Lu Yin so wished it, he could erase the entire domain in an instant, leaving the Heavencraft Domain as nothing more than a footnote in history.
At that moment, the void twisted, and a figure emerged. The High Seraph had appeared.
Lu Yin looked over, but he was not at all surprised. It would have been odd if the High Seraph had not arrived, as the Heavencraft Domain held a unique position in the Spirit Nidus. Additionally, Lu Yin was fulfilling part of his agreement with Ru Guo, stalling the High Seraph and granting the other man an opportunity to go to Heavenspire.
Ling Zuo and the others sighed in relief at the sight of the High Seraph. They had not been confident that he would appear.
If any other Seraph had targeted the Heavencraft Domain, there would have been no doubt that the Ascendant Hall would intervene. However, when it came to Lu Yin, who stood on the same level as the High Seraph, no one could be certain if the High Seraph would act or not. The cost of action might be too steep.
“They’re just pawns that were being manipulated. Why treat them so seriously?” the High Seraph calmly asked as he confronted Lu Yin.
Lu Yin met the man’s gaze. “If they’re just pawns, then why go to the trouble of protecting them?”
The High Seraph’s tone remained casual. “The Heavencraft Domain cannot be destroyed. Spirit thread isn’t eternal, and thus it must eventually be replaced. The Spirit Nidus requires the Heavencraft Domain’s existence.”
“That’s none of my concern. The Heavencraft Domain came after me, so I’ll erase it. That’s how I do things.”
“Do you think that you can destroy the Heavencraft Domain right in front of me?” The High Seraph’s eyes narrowed.
Lu Yin did not bat an eye. “I don’t believe that you’ll stay here forever.”
The High Seraph shook his head. “The Heavencraft Domain will offer sufficient compensation. What do you want? Spirit seeds? Starting today, every spirit seed that the Heavencraft Domain acquires will be yours.”
Down below, Ling Zuo and the others could hear the conversation, but they did not speak a word. It was not their place to argue. All they could do was listen.
Lu Yin just laughed. “Mo Shang, do you really think that you can pay me off with just spirit seeds?”
Mo Shang was the High Seraph’s real name. While Lu Yin had not known it before, he had recently learned it.
No one in the Spirit Nidus would dare to mention that name. It was no different from how Old Yu and Jiu Xian had avoided mentioning the names of the Lesser Sancti while conversing with Lu Yin in the Wisdom Domain. However, after learning the High Seraph’s name, Lu Yin could use it freely. He had no reason to be cautious, not even of the High Seraph.
Lu Yin had accumulated enough spirit seeds for the time being. While more would always be better, more was no longer essential.
“You’re exaggerating the matter. The Heavencraft Domain is incapable of taking your life,” the High Seraph calmly retorted.
Lu Yin's gaze turned icy. "If I didn’t have some ability, you know exactly how things would have turned out. If this didn’t threaten my life, then why did you claim that you attacked Ru Mu to save me?"
The High Seraph looked downward. “A bunch of old fools tried to deal with you, so kill them. Why go after the entire domain? You’re placing me in a difficult position.”
“Then why don’t we see what sort of compensation the old fools can offer that would convince me to spare the Heavencraft Domain?” Lu Yin suggested as he also looked down. “If I so choose it, the Heavencraft Domain will never again exist in the Spirit Nidus. Well, not unless Boundless falls.”
Lu Yin spoke his threat directly before the High Seraph, showing absolutely no concern for the man’s presence.
Ling Zuo’s heart sank. Seraph Lu was even more ruthless than the old man had imagined.
Compensation? What could the Heavencraft Domain possibly offer? Aside from spirit thread and spirit seeds, they had nothing.
At this moment, Ru Guo arrived at the Ascendant Hall. He moved to a hidden corner, which was the location of the connection to Heavenspire.
However, he found that someone was already standing there: Zi Tianshu.
When Ru Guo arrived, Zi Tianshu opened his eyes, and a helpless expression appeared on his face. “So, you really did come after all. Things haven’t been peaceful lately. Boundless has stirred up quite a commotion.”
Boom!
There was no unnecessary conversation. The two immediately started fighting.
On his own, Zi Tianshu was no match for Ru Guo. While Zi Tianshu was as strong as the Seven Seraphs, Ru Guo was nearly as strong as the High Seraph, and he far surpassed the Seven Seraphs.
However, they were fighting near the Ascendant Hall. Even if Zi Tianshu failed to defeat Ru Guo, the moment that Ru Guo took action, Zi Tianshu could summon backup.
Lan and the three old men who had once served as Hua Manyi’s guards all appeared, and they also attacked Ru Guo.
The man frowned. Given enough time, he could defeat all of his current opponents. However, the High Seraph could return at any moment.
Fortunately, Ru Guo had come prepared.
