Chapter 49: Becoming Famous

"Whoa, the number 1 singer of our class."

"He sings even better than the original, I also want to be his girlfriend."

"I can’t believe an idol is sitting beside us."

As I sat down, other students started coming in, and some girls began whispering.

Damn, it must only be the beginning.

I could even feel some bold girls passing me smiles and secret-love-filled eye signals.

Just then a short girl with light purple hair stood near me.

A perfect example of a legal lolli.

"Hello, my name is Jasmine."

"I saw your singing karaoke videos yesterday."

"I seem to have fallen in love with you, the entire night I have been watching your video on replays."

"The song you sang was my favourite love song, I can’t seem to get enough of your singing."

The vivid blush on either side of her cheeks as she bowed down a little was self-evident.

Then she slowly lifted her head, even though her face was average, I could still feel myself being magically attracted to those simple details.

"Are you and Rainaziel really dating?"

"I personally think you need someone better."

Jasmine’s voice was soft yet crisp, enough for others

who were secretly paying attention to eat melons.

"What a bold girl!"

A gasp from behind was heard, probably a backbencher.

"My grades have always been excellent, in studies, I have always ranked in the top 3 in this school."

Jasmine gave a slightly mischievous smile.

Her straight eyes unfazed by the gossiping crowd were looking at me for an answer.

"Hmmm!"

At that second, Asuna, who was sitting on my right side bench, gave a big snort.

Asuna’s facial expressions were complicated as she witnessed this new development.

"Bunch of idiots."

After murmuring in a barely audible tone, she turned her head to the opposite side facing the windows.

Jasmine, who witnessed her action, kept the same straight face.

But maybe it was my gut feeling, I could see Jasmine laughing behind the scenes.

"Are you and Rainaziel really together?"

She moved a little closer and this time instead of asking loudly, she whispered in a greasy tone.

Her eyes winked at me.

"We have already broken up."

Words spontaneously came out of my mouth.

I don’t know why but I felt that this Jasmine was not simple.

There was something magnetic about her, I can’t put it into proper words.

Seeing her sincere request, I decided to grant her what she wanted to hear.

"But keep it a secret, otherwise, other girls would start giving me love letters every day."

I added helplessly.

This time there was hardly any pretence, Jasmine’s previous straight face blossomed into a sweet smile.

I was left in a daze, these two-dimensional type characters with red, green, and purple hair were too stunning compared to simple girls back on Earth.

"Don’t worry, this will be our little secret."

"I don’t like to share things."

Jasmine whispered one last time before winking at me.

For some reason, I found her courage a bit exaggerated.

Unfazed by all, she boldly tried to court me.

As a normal man, my inherent vanity was aroused.

This feeling was unique, no wonder, people love to hear sweet words that flatter them.

Snap~

Suddenly a crispy sound was heard towards my right.

I turned around only to find Asuna glaring at us with an icy gaze, the pen in her hand was snapped in half.

Her deathly look sent a shiver down my spine.

Wait, hadn’t she turned her head away earlier?

When did I provoke this crazy bitch?

Yesterday, she herself messaged me about ending things amicably between us, so why stare at us so rudely?

Her red eyes are like I have wronged her.

Lady, my conscience is clear, don’t try to wrong me!

Jasmine, on the other hand, not bothered by this soup-piercing gaze, gently smiled towards Asuna.

As she looked towards Asuna, her lips opened and closed without speaking anything, but it was clear she was saying something or perhaps trying to speak in some hidden language?

After that Jasmine gently bowed towards the glaring Asuna and me sitting beside her, before heading back to her front seat.

When she was close, I could smell her cherry-like smell. How can such a little girl have this fascinating smell?

Stomp~

Seeing me still in a daze, Asuna who was secretly paying attention angrily got up from her seat.

Her commotion immediately attracted the onlookers, understanding that her action was eye-catching, she exclaimed without flinching an eye,

"I need to go to the washroom."

Then she readily left the classroom.

It was still 5 minutes before the official class began, the teacher had yet to come, so students were free to roam here and there. Not many people paid attention to Asuna’s strange behaviour.

Leaving the suffocating room in a huff, Asuna arrived at a washroom.

Looking at the mirror, she readily washed her face.

"That trash little dwarf human!"

"How dare Jasmine be so rude to me?"

"Just a little woman who thinks she can study better wants to challenge me? Hahahaha, what a joke."

Asuna laughed hysterically.

"Others might not know what you said but looking at those lip movements, it was clear- I will steal your man."

Remembering the earlier hidden confrontation with Jasmine, Asuna gritted her teeth.

If they were not in a public place, she might have directly taken action against Jasmine.

But then after a few seconds of agony, her face strangely lightened,

"Rainaziel, calm down!"

"How can you be angry because of a mere weak human?"

"Yes, that’s right, as a powerful Fallen Angel, such trash aren’t qualified to disturb my stable emotions."

Like a neurotic woman, Asuna started talking to herself.

"Now that I have ended things with Elandor, I should not be bothered by whatever happens to him, he can rot in hell!"

But she herself didn’t realise, when she spoke the word Elandor, there was a subtle possessiveness in her eyes.

This was not definitely not normal.

Before the class could start, I closed my eyes and meditated for a while, my brain was loaded with too much information to process.

Sighs~

"Hey?"

Am I hallucinating, I feel someone is calling me, I must be too worked up.

"Hey!"

This time the voice was extra loud.

It was definitely not a daydream.

Turning my head towards the left, I saw Parul looking at me with strange eyes.

"What did that short girl talk to you?"

"I saw her bending so close to your face and whispering so much."

Parul spoke in confusion.

"Oh, you mean Jasmine?"

"She simply asked if the rumours were true and if was I really dating Rainaziel?"

I replied perfunctionally.

"Huh?"

Parul’s face was filled with disbelief as if she didn’t believe me.

"Actually, it’s you to blame."

Seeing her baffled expression I continued.

"Because you uploaded my karaoke singing videos online, I now have so many fan girls."

"Turned out she was one of them, who have hopelessly fallen for me."

I expressed deep regret like suffered a big setback.

Acting had to be flawless.

"Huh?"

"The class topper has fallen for you?"

"How can a little geeky girl with only formulas in her head have time for such things?"

Parul exclaimed in shock.

This news was even more shocking for her.

A top student falling in love so out of the blue?

"Wait, you already have Rainaziel!"

"You refused her, right?"

"You can’t mess with other girls or Rainaziel will be disheartened."

Parul glared at me.

The friendship between these girls was definitely deeper than what appeared on the surface.

Seeing me not answering, Parul spoke hastily.

"If you dare to wrong Rainaziel, then I won’t forgive you."

"Chill!"

"I didn’t answer Jasmine’s courtship."

I waved my hands helplessly.

"But you didn’t refuse her properly."

"What if she bothers or tries to come in between?"

"If Rainaziel gets angry then she will kill such a weak human in no time."

Parul also crossed her arms and spoke slowly.

Even though she spoke slowly, from her tone the message was clear- If Jasmine dies, only you are to blame.

"Actually, I would haven’t bothered to pay attention to this mortal girl, but..."

"I don’t know why, but for some reason when I saw her dark eyes, I had a weird-eerie feeling, I don’t know how to put it in exact words."

Parul was in deep thought.

"Anyway, you are not allowed to be entangled with her."

Parul gave me a stern warning before once again getting busy with her phone.

I wanted to tell her that things between me and Asuna have ended amicably or simply say that we broke up, but Parul abruptly cut me off before I could say anything.

But her last warning struck a chord with me.

Even I felt there was something wrong with Jasmine, I had this strong gut feeling when she previously approached me.

If one person thinks like that it can be a coincidence, but if two people think the same is it a coincidence?
