Chapter 76: The Real Murderer -2

"Holy shit!" Leonora exclaimed, her eyes and mouth wide in shock. She looked at Callum for confirmation and then at Rafaelo being held by his assistant. Rafaelo’s shocked expression confirmed he never imagined this to come out.

Rivana was equally stunned. All these years, she had been blaming herself for a crime she didn’t even commit. She had endured all of Rafaelo’s torture just because of this sin. She looked up at Azrael, who was standing beside her chair. Azrael looked down at her, his calm eyes confirming her thoughts were true.

"Just to rub it in your face, that woman you thought was your obsessed admirer works for Dynars," Callum added proudly. They had the best female workers who would show the jerks their faces and could also make them confess their sins.

Rafaelo glanced at Callum and then back at the screen. His shock and terror were palpable as he realized he had been fooled last night. His friends, who hadn’t contacted him in years, were suddenly offering some high-level drugs that were expensive. They must have been bought by him, he thought, looking at his foolish self from last night spewing his dirty secrets.

[Flashback: That Night After Rivana’s Attack]

"What? Check properly!" Rafaelo shouted at his friend. Pushing Tommy away, he knelt beside Xander and pressed his ear against his chest. He was so drunk that his senses failed to work properly.

"I am not lying! He is dead!" Tommy cried out in panic.

Rafaelo cursed under his breath. Rising up, he glared at Rivana who was standing not far away. Storming toward her, he grabbed her neck and glowered, "You idiot! Couldn’t you endure for a little longer?!"

"We... we all are doomed now." Came the trembling voice of Rubina. She clutched her hair and slumped on the couch, fear evident on her delicate face. Minister Bason would ruin the entire Faye Family and their father would be angry with all of them though it was Rivana’s mistake.

Just then, Sebastian rushed inside, his eyes landing on Xander and then on Rivana being held by Rafaelo.

"Rafaelo!" He quickly ran and pushed aside the bulldozer. Taking out his coat, he quickly covered Rivana though it did little to protect her from the cold wind. Her clothes were ripped apart, leaving her in lingerie, and he regretted not coming here earlier.

"Move away, you smartass!" Rafaelo growled at Sebastian. "I am gonna kill this bitch tonight!" he launched at Rivana again but Sebastian was quick to hold him.

"Killing her would solve this problem?" Sebastian spat back, clutching Rafaelo’s hands tightly. Pushing him back, he added, "It will only put you into Minister Bason’s wrath, you moron! He will blame you for not protecting his son! Use your brain for once."

"Yes! We are all going to die!" Tommy agreed with Sebastian. Glaring at Rivana, he cried, "Do you think his father would let us live peacefully?"

Everyone else on the scene agreed with him. If Xander’s father got wind of this disaster, he would bury all of them alive. Minister Bason loved his son very much, and every single person at this party was aware of it. Attending this party was really a bad idea!

Sebastian looked at Xander on the floor and then glanced at Rivana behind him. She looked as if her soul had been sucked out of her body, her wide red, teary eyes never leaving her dead assaulter on the ground. Running a hand through his hair, he thought about it for a while before an idea lit up his mind.

"He had come alone, right? There are no bodyguards or escorts sent by his father?" Sebastian asked Rafaelo.

"He had come here with Tommy and a few girls," Rafaelo replied, glancing at his classmates who were now curling in the corner.

"Good. Let’s convert this into an accident." Sebastian murmured in a low voice. "None of us are safe if the news gets out of this balcony. So, let’s put him in his car and fake it into an accident." He addressed everybody in the room.

"Yeah, he is right!"

"Yes. Xander is already smelling like a bag of drugs. No one would suspect if we fabricate and blame him entirely."

Many agreed with Sebastian’s idea. Rafaelo thought for a moment before sighing out loud. He glared at Rivana before turning to Sebastian. "Let’s do it."

Sebastian nodded and quickly set up the plan. He forced each one of them to delete the video and ordered a few guys to transfer Xander. "Make sure no one downstairs suspects it. He is drunk and you are helping him to his room." He ordered again to which the guys nodded.

"You take this idiot and Ruby back to the mansion," Rafaelo suggested as his mates started moving the body. He glared at Rivana before moving to Rubina. Helping her stand up, he covered her in his jacket and murmured, "I will take care of this, Ruby. Don’t worry, okay?"

Rubina nodded in response. Wearing his jacket, she took a deep breath, hoping everything would end smoothly. One of her friends quickly escorted her downstairs while Sebastian walked over to Rivana.

"Riv!" He gently shook her shoulders and tried to bring her out of the shock. When Rivana finally looked at him, he continued, "You did nothing wrong."

Tears trickled down Rivana’s cheeks, her hands clutching onto the coat tightly. Sebastian moved closer and hugged her. Caressing her back, he tried to comfort the poor girl. "We will figure a way out. Don’t worry."

Rivana nodded in response. She bit her lower lip to hold back her cry, Sebastian’s presence helping her calm down. A moment later, Sebastian broke the hug and quickly guided her downstairs.

Rafaelo watched them leave and sighed out loud. Turning to Tommy, he ordered, "Check each one’s phone. Delete all the pictures before sending them away."

Tommy nodded and rushed toward the girls. Rafaelo turned toward Xander and hurried with the boys to cover up the crime quickly. If the word gets out, they all would be dead for sure.

"Would Rafaelo really help me?" Rivana asked, her voice trembling as Sebastian hurried her out of the villa. 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺

"Rafaelo might be a bully, but he wouldn’t go to the lengths of tarnishing your reputation. This would put our family in the dark too, and he would never let that happen," Sebastian reassured her. Walking her toward the car in which Rubina was already waiting for them, he added, "Don’t worry, Riv."

Rivana nodded and sat in the shotgun seat. Rubina took out the shawl beside her and passed it to her. Yes, she didn’t like her sister but what she went through earlier, was awful. She could only hope Rivana would forget it quickly and move on with her life.

"Th... Thank you," Rivana accepted the shawl. She covered herself in it, her body still trembling from the earlier incident. Closing her eyes, she tried to hold back her tears, her heart still pounding loudly.

Sebastian took one final glance at her before he started the engine, driving away from the villa as fast as he could. He only hoped Rafaelo would be thorough with the plan, leaving no loopholes that would raise suspicion and push Rivana into an inferno.

Meanwhile, back at the mansion, Rafaelo and his friends were busy moving Xander’s unconscious body without anyone’s suspicion. They had dragged him out of the house and into the backyard, where their friends were already waiting with Xander’s car.

"Hurry up!" Rafaelo muttered, his voice filled with frustration and anger.

They lifted Xander’s limp body and threw him into the backseat of the car. Rafaelo got into the driver’s seat, while his friends piled into the car with him. He sped down a secluded road, taking a narrow turn on a muddy path that led to an old graveyard. The place was eerie, with thick trees lining the sides of the road, where no one dared to walk at night. The only sounds were the rustling of leaves and the occasional hoot of an owl.

The guy sitting beside Xander in the backseat frowned as Xander slowly coughed out loud. "He... he is waking up!" he shrieked in horror.

Rafaelo stopped the car abruptly, the tires skidding on the gravel, sending a cloud of dust into the air.

"Where the... is that..." Xander murmured, holding his head that was covered in blood. He was half-conscious and passed out again, his body slumping against the seat.

"We should take him to the hospital! There’s a chance to save him!" the guy in the backseat urged, his voice trembling with fear.

"Yes!" Tommy, who was sitting in the backseat, nodded in agreement. He turned to Rafaelo and urged him, "Quick! Turn around the car! I will call 911!"

Tommy took out his phone, but Rafaelo stopped him, grabbing his wrist with a vice-like grip. The others looked at him in confusion as Rafaelo snickered and murmured, "Let’s kill him."
