Chapter 71: Overwhelmingly Drunk

"What are you doing?" Rhaegar asked as his body stiffened watching her approach.

Just looking at her move made his insides throb. He tried to restrain himself, but it was not enough to hide the excruciating desire that burned in his amber eyes.

Lorelai did not reply. Instead, she took yet another step closer, her eyes firmly locked on Rhaegar's handsome face.

"Don't come," he grunted, his voice still restrained. "You have no idea what you are doing. Just let me stay here for a while. It's just one night."

"It's alright," she whispered, her face flushed with a new rush of color.

"If I can help you, then... I would like to do it."

"What?" The man could not believe his ears. Lorelai explained. "I was like this when you found me in your room, remember? You helped me back then. Do you... think I can help you now?"

Although she had no idea what a beast in heat felt, the princess could still clearly remember what she had felt when she had drunk the stimulant mixed in her wine. A horrible pain ignited her body, leaving her feverish, tingly, and embarrassingly desperate.

Lorelai would not be able to forgive herself if she allowed Rhaegar to go through the same torture. "If I can help you, let me do it."

"You want to help me by having sex with me? You are... offering me your body? Willingly?"

It was obvious what the princess wanted to do but hearing the man say those words out loud made her flustered once again. Why did he have to ask her that? He managed to remain crude even when in such a state.

Hesitant, she nodded, silently saying yes to his question.

"How kind of you, Your Highness," Rhaegar's eyes narrowed as he grinned, trying to hide his discomfort. "But I do not think benevolence is what truly guides you here."

Once again, Lorelai's lips refused to respond. Truthfully, there was nothing to say, especially since the king already knew the real answer.

It wasn't just her kindness that prompted her to make such a dangerous decision. She wanted it too. Somehow, just being in his presence alone made her body resonate with his body, and her desire echoed his.

Her body remembered the pleasure he could give her. And whenever she found herself so close to him, she could not help but want more.

Thinking about their previous encounters, Lorelai felt the heat spread within her stomach.

She enjoyed how her skin reacted to his warm, intimate touch. She liked the way they could melt into each other. She liked how the mere sound of his low voice next to her blushing ear could set her mind free and make her lose all control.

Those were the only times she could forget the burdens and complicated situations that clouded her daily life, even if only for a few moments.

'The celebration is almost over. Soon, he will leave Erelith and never come back again. So just this once... Just this one time... And we will be even.'

The princess silently cursed herself for making up such a silly excuse for making yet another fatal mistake. But she could not help it. Somehow she convinced herself that even if she were to die tomorrow at the hands of the crown prince, at least she would die without regrets.

Taking a deep breath, Lorelai took the final step to remove any remaining distance between them.

Rhaegar's eyes shone sinisterly as he watched her move. The princess paused for a moment and closed her eyes before she opened them again and looked directly into his amber orbs.

"Let's... at least clean you up a little," she said in an assertive voice, determination in her expression finally breaking forth. She drew closer and took off her silk robe, placing it carefully on the king's chest.

"Even just the dust... will make it easier for the wounds to heal."

"Alright," he said quietly, his eyes never leaving her face.

He straightened up his position on her bed, making it easier for Lorelai to be next to him. The princess climbed the bed and sat right before him, her slightly trembling hands reaching for the robe.

As she began to move the soft fabric over the man's skin, Rhaegar's muscles twitched lightly. It was obvious that his body was struggling to restrain itself, and her gentle touch, separated from his skin only by the fine piece of silk, made it harder to do so.

The muscles on his forearm tensed again when Lorelai's bare hand suddenly touched it and one of the wounds opened up again, hot, dark blood seeping out onto his tanned skin.

"Oh!" The princess gasped, startled, but the king only scoffed in response.

"It's alright," Rhaegar snatched the robe out of Lorelai's hands and pulled the thin silk belt out of the loops on the side, handing it back to her. "Just wrap it around the wound, like a bandage."

The princess took the belt from his hand and wrapped it carefully around his forearm, tightening it perfectly to stop the bleeding. The moment her hands released his arm, Rhaegar sighed and trapped her waist with another arm, pulling her closer to his chest.

"Come here."

As he pressed her closer against his body, Lorelai, although still feeling caught off-guard, instinctively adjusted her hips on his lap as if her body already knew how to react to the man's unpredictable actions.

Smiling, Rhaegar placed his right hand on the back of the princess' neck and moved his face closer to it, his nose slowly sliding over her soft skin.

"I love how your body reacts to me, Lorelai," he whispered, his hot breath damping her neck. "Your scent becomes even stronger and I get overwhelmingly drunk with every breath I take."

Lorelai felt ticklish and wanted to move away but Rhaegar immediately tightened his grip on her.

Bringing her closer once more, he rubbed his face against her neck for a few long moments before letting out a relieved sigh.
