Chapter 1831: Coward Turtle Bastard

Crack... Creak...

Right now, the massive, mountain range-like giant teeth were moving up and down and making these horrible grinding noises.

Every time the teeth closed, space would shudder and groan with strain, and the consumed islands, dots of light, and even the dirty sea water and shattered fragments of space would crumble into the tiniest powder.

Smelly blood mixed with currents of chaos would spurt through the gap between its teeth and kick up a violent storm. This caused the spatial gap to shake violently and its edges to expand farther and farther. The currents of chaos were growing stronger as well.

“You like eating, don’t you? Very well! I’ll let you eat to your heart’s content today!”

Ye Qing said heavily while staring at the giant, abyssal-like maw of the Earthbearing Dragon Turtle with frigid eyes.

As soon as he finished, dark yellow light burst out of his palm, and the Earthly Sovereign Bell spun into existence.

“Go!”

Ye Qing commanded, and the Earthly Sovereign Bell flew straight into the Earthbearing Dragon Turtle’s gigantic, black hole-like maw.

Buzz...

Once it entered the Earthbearing Dragon Turtle’s mouth, the Earthly Sovereign Bell immediately started swelling in size. At the beginning, it was only as big as a fist. In just the blink of an eye, it had grown to the size of a house. Another blink of an eye later, and it had grown to the size of a towering mountain!

Dark yellow light blazed, and the engravings of celestial bodies and realms circulated on the wall. They emanated a vast, grandiose aura that seemed capable of suppressing the ages.

CRACK CRACK CRACK—

A series of pops and cracks that sounded like exploding beans erupted. The Earthbearing Dragon Turtle’s teeth was capable of shattering stars, but when they made contact with the rapidly expanding Earthly Sovereign Bell, they immediately shattered to a million pieces like glass. Bits and pieces of teeth mixed with smelly, ink green blood immediately splattered everywhere.

“Argh!”

A painful, bleak, and disbelieving roar of shock replaced the draconic and turtle roars coming from the depths of the abyss. It was such a roar that the entire space was shaking violently. It then said, “Earthly... Sovereign... Bell?”

“Correct. Too bad there’s no prize for you.” Ye Qing curled his lips. “By the way, I haven’t come all the way here to listen to your annoying screams, so be silent!”

When he finished speaking, the Earthly Sovereign Bell did not stop growing. Instead, it grew big enough until the Earthbearing Dragon Turtle’s jaws were fully forced open.

No matter how the Earthbearing Dragon Turtle tried to close its mouth, it was unable to crush the Earthly Sovereign Bell in the slightest. It could only make indistinct groans that sounded like nothing, much less roar or threaten Ye Qing.

“An excellent opportunity! Let’s go!” The Chief Libationist declared without hesitation.

The Sages stopped hesitating and rushed toward the gap while the Earthbearing Dragon Turtle was still struggling with the bell in its mouth. Without the Evil’s interference, they were able to slip inside despite the chaotic currents blowing at them from the edges of the spatial gap.

As soon as they passed through the entrance made up of twisted lights and shadows, the scenery before their eyes abruptly changed dramatically.

The rampaging and chaotic Eastern Shore vanished, replaced by an endless expanse of primal chaos and nothingness. Here, there was no light, sound, or even direction. There was only eternal silence and emptiness.

However, there existed one creature in this expanse of absolute nothingness. It was such a big creature that it occupied all of their vision and more as soon as they stepped inside.

It was a turtle. A giant turtle.

Its limbs were so thick they looked like divine pillars that held up the sky. Deeply rooted in the expanse of nothingness, the exposed parts of its limbs alone were bigger than their vision.

The turtle’s back was only bigger. It looked like a continent that was infinitely thick and endlessly wide. It was covered up by many old, giant scales that were dark yellow in color. Every scale glittered like metal and oozed an air of agelessness and immortality.

The giant turtle did not have a turtle’s head, however. It was the head of a gnarly and imposing dragon! Its horn was so long that it pierced through the void and enveloped in a dark glow. Its eyes were wide open and flashing with a kind of brutality and tyranny that would sooner devour the world than restrain themselves.

“Heavens above... this... this thing is a little too big, isn’t it?!” Xiahou Zun was so stunned that he could not help but exclaim in disbelief.

There was no doubt about it. The turtle was none other than the Earthbearing Dragon Turtle, last of the Four Evils!

In terms of anomalous powers and flexibility, the Earthbearing Dragon Turtle was slightly inferior to the Undying Nether Phoenix and Endless Lord of Plagues. In terms of brutality and sheer destructive force, the Earthbearing Dragon Turtle was also inferior to the World Ender Jiuying.

However, the Earthbearing Dragon Turtle possessed a trait none of the other three Evils could hope to match—absolute “toughness”, and absolute “size”.

When it came to size, the Undying Nether Phoenix, Endless Lord of Plagues, and World Ender Jiuying combined couldn’t hope to match even the tip of the Earthbearing Dragon Turtle.

Crouching quietly in this expanse of nothingness and void, the Earthbearing Dragon Turtle’s body easily spanned thousands and thousands of kilometers. It was so wide that it looked less like a living being and more like an ancient continent floating through the cosmos; a moving island that had existed since time immemorial.

The Earthbearing Dragon Turtle also possessed a unique habit. There was nothing it loved more than carrying actual lands, mountains, and islands on its back and tending to the countless living beings in them like a shepherd who tended to his flock. Once the population on its back had grown to a certain size, this seemingly tame giant would reveal its true nature and consume everything on its back. Not even the lands were an exception. It would devour it all and turn them into nourishment.

This was why the Earthbearing Dragon Turtle was ascribed its name.

Compared to the Earthbearing Dragon Turtle, Ye Qing and his Sages were impossibly tiny. So tiny, in fact, that to call them specks of dust was an understatement—and that was if they were compared to just one of the turtle’s scales.

Besides the Earthbearing Dragon Turtle’s suffocatingly massive body, there was one more thing that caught their attention. In fact, it was even more eye-catching than even the body itself.

There was a mountain on the back that seemed big enough to carry an entire world. The mountain was tens of kilometers wide and so tall that its peak was hidden in the void. In fact, it almost looked like an impossibly big palm pressing down on the turtle’s back with five smaller peaks that looked like fingers that stretched all the way into the infinite chaos!

This still wasn’t the most shocking thing, however. It was the fact three words were engraved to the center mass that connected the five “fingers”. Even from where they were, the words were clearly readable: “Coward Turtle Bastard”.

To say that the three words were highly humiliating would be an understatement. It was openly imprinted on the divine mountain that suppressed this vicious and ancient Evil. As faded as they were, each word still contained an unimaginably scary power. Combined with the five smaller peaks, they formed a massive, singular restriction that nailed the Earthbearing Dragon Turtle to this space of nothingness like five nails.

“... Huh.”

The group of Sages exchanged odd glances with each other.

They had no doubt that the restriction and the words were left behind by none other than the Earthly Sovereign himself.

Unfortunately, the five-fingered mountain that must have boasted near infinite power back in the day was currently covered in countless densely packed cracks. It looked like it would collapse at any moment. The three humiliating words engraved to the center body had also become so dim that it was almost lightless. It was barely functioning, and it would not be very soon.

Clearly, the powerful restriction the Earthly Sovereign had set up for the Earthbearing Dragon Turtle was on its last legs after the merciless passage of time and the Evil’s own relentless assaults. They would not be surprised if the seal broke down in a matter of minutes, if not seconds.
