STRIKER: Independent Beast Tamer-Chapter 285: Exposed?
City A:
Time passed.
Before midnight, Jeremy returned to City A. After showing his card, he walked back into the city. Then he came to the main street and found the cab driver.
A few minutes later,
A flying cab started flying toward the University. Jeremy was sitting in the back seat. He sighed inwardly. Today's experience was crazy for him.
He hadn't expected the forbidden area to have another dangerous spot apart from the black lake. Now there was another one with the same dangerous zone. He was going to call it the Black Trench.
One territory was dominated by hybrid crocodile beasts. The other territory was dominated by red-black worm beasts.
He then pushed down these thoughts. He was going to spend a few days at the University before thinking about going to the wilderness.
He just broke through. It would take time for him to accumulate for the next evolution.
About 10 minutes later,
The cab driver dropped him at the University gate. He was glad that he returned at night. Otherwise, he would have attracted a lot of unwanted attention.
He still didn't know what had happened to the footage evidence. Shaking his head, he walked onto the campus and started going back to his dormitory room.
The next morning,
Jeremy left the dormitory after getting ready. He was going to the department building. Last night, he had fallen asleep after coming back.
He then woke up late today. He didn't have time to go through the online news. Soon, he arrived at the department building.
He saw two other department students roaming the first floor. His arrival immediately attracted their attention. Upon seeing him, they started their discussion among themselves.
But none of them came forward to disturb him. He quickly reached the elevator and then arrived at the top floor shortly afterward.
Jeremy then came to the class and saw two of his department members, Daniel Stone and Betsy Lowe. They were chatting and laughing as usual.
He then walked into the class, interrupting their discussion.
"Brother Jeremy, did you go to the wilderness again?" Daniel asked.
Hearing that, Jeremy simply smiled and replied, "Don't worry about me. Tell me about yourselves. What were you guys doing?"
Betsy raised her eyebrows before Daniel could reply.
She said, "Our daily schedule was fixed. We were just worried about your challenge duel. But strangely, no one came to bother yesterday."
"It appears that two S-Graders have something to do with it," she added.
Jeremy was stunned. He wanted to hear about this news as well. He didn't know whether Instructor Jacob had shown the evidence to the Dean.
Daniel and Betsy noticed Jeremy's reaction. They thought Jeremy knew about this matter.
But before they could ask, they saw Instructor Jacob Henry entering the room.
Daniel's eyes lit up. He immediately asked, "Instructor, Jeremy is back. Now you can tell us what happened about the decision to confirm the duel."
Jeremy's eyes flickered. He turned around and looked at Instructor Jacob. He had the same doubt as well.
But then he found Instructor Jacob's eyes were on him, as if he was trying to see through him.
Jacob Henry was indeed trying to see through Jeremy Night. Then he discovered Jeremy's real strength. It was at Tier-2 level. The aura was stable as well, which meant Jeremy had reached Tier-2 level some time ago.
His heart set off storms. Jacob Henry's facial expression almost collapsed, but before that, he communicated with his lifeline beast.
When his lifeline beast confirmed Jeremy's strength, he was truly shocked to the core. He and Elder Derek thought that Jeremy Night had perhaps touched the Tier-1 limit.
But Jeremy Night had already reached Tier-2. He felt Jeremy had small stage breakthroughs as well.
Daniel, Betsy, and Jeremy were looking at him. He was still contemplating whether it was okay to disclose Jeremy's strength to the two of them.
If the two members were frightened by the gap between them and Jeremy Night, it could have the opposite effect on their progress.
On the other hand, Jeremy furrowed his eyebrows. He found that Instructor Jacob was shocked by something. What could it be?
A sudden realization struck his mind.
He recalled that Instructor Jacob had started noticing him a few seconds ago.
"My strength is exposed," Jeremy thought.
Sigh!
A soft sigh escaped his mouth. He knew the day would come. It was impossible to hide it forever, especially when he had shown his strength in front of him during his fight against the Tier-4 Hound.
He had thought the Instructor noticed that day, but still, it took time for him to realize.
"Instructor Jacob, are you okay?" Betsy Lowe asked.
"I'm okay," Jacob replied with a smile on his face.
"Alright, what are you guys discussing?" Jacob asked.
Daniel said, "We were discussing the challenge duel. No one bothered us yesterday."
Jacob nodded. Then he looked at Jeremy Night before turning toward them.
He said, "About that, the two S-Graders have accepted the condition of Jeremy. Only after killing a Tier-4 beast would they come back to challenge Jeremy."
"What?" Betsy blurted out in surprise.
Daniel widened his eyes in disbelief.
They looked at each other's faces because they didn't believe the condition could be fulfilled by anyone.
"Cough," Jeremy let out a cough.
He could see that their shock was about the condition as well. They didn't expect anyone could complete it.
Betsy and Daniel recovered their thoughts after hearing the cough.
"There is no need to be surprised. I killed a Tier-4 Fierce Hound in front of Instructor Jacob two days ago," Jeremy revealed the truth.
"What?" This time Daniel exclaimed in surprise.
Betsy was astonished. Now she understood why there was no commotion yesterday.
"No wonder the two S-Graders accepted your condition. But how did you make them believe?" Betsy asked.
"Brother Jeremy, you have kept this hidden from us," Daniel said.
"I'm not planning to hide it. I left for the wilderness the next day. I had thought Instructor Jacob would have shown you the duel footage," Jeremy said with a smile.
"Duel footage?" Betsy uttered in surprise.
Jacob smiled, shaking his head. He could tell that Jeremy was still keeping his Tier-2 strength secret from them.
Considering the threats faced by Jeremy Night, he could only go along with it.
He said, "It's true. Let me show you the footage."
Then he took out his device to show them.
The video started to play. Both Betsy and Daniel's eyes were fixed on the video. They saw how Jeremy Night fought against the Tier-4 Hound Beast.
Then they saw how quickly Jeremy Night killed the beast in two moves. Right now, both of them were terrified in their hearts.
Earlier, they had doubted whether Jeremy Night could kill a Tier-4 Beast or not. So they thought that the condition was too much.
But now they were left speechless. Jeremy seemed to have killed the Tier-4 Beast with ease. It took them more than a minute to calm down.
Daniel then asked, "Brother Jeremy, what's your strength?"
Betsy Lowe's expression turned serious as well.
Jacob Henry sighed in his heart. He knew the blow would be too much. But still, seeing the reaction of the two members, he was satisfied.
At least they were not in denial. Jeremy had saved their lives before, so they both knew he could fight across ranks.
Jeremy wasn't surprised by their reaction.
He said, "I have reached the Tier-1 limit. With my combat talent, it's not that difficult to kill a Tier-4 Beast."
"Tier-1 limit?"
"Brother, you are truly hidden," Daniel said with a smile. He now completely believed Jeremy's words. Before, Jeremy had a track record of killing Tier-3 Corrupted Beasts.
Now that Jeremy had reached the Tier-1 limit, he thought it was normal for Jeremy to kill a Tier-4 Corrupted Beast.
Betsy Lowe calmed her turbulent heart as well. She hadn't expected Jeremy's progress to be this fast. He had reached the Tier-1 limit, the same as the two S-Graders.
Like she had previously thought, Jeremy's talent was not less than that of S-Graders. She thought someone must have mistaken his talent grade during the awakening ceremony.
"Jeremy, your talent should be S-Grade. Maybe you should reassess your talent in the future," Betsy said in a serious tone.
Jeremy shook his head before replying, "My talent is A-Grade. It just gives advantages during the fight. That's why I was able to compete with the S-Graders."
On the other hand, Instructor Jacob didn't know whether to laugh or cry. Seeing Jeremy Night downplaying his strength, he didn't know what to say.
But he agreed with Betsy Lowe's words. With A Grade talent, Jeremy reached Tier-2 before the two S-Graders. It showed that Jeremy's talent was not an ordinary A-Grade talent.
Jacob decided to report to Elder Derek as soon as possible because it was impossible for him to keep this secret.
"You guys, if you need anything, you can call me. I have some important work to do," Jacob said to them.
"We are leaving as well," Betsy said.
"Yes," Daniel said.
Jeremy furrowed his eyebrows as he noticed Instructor Jacob's gaze on him once again. But before he could ask, Instructor Jacob walked out.
