Strongest Necromancer System-Chapter 600: Necromancy Vs Immortality
The reason the beast could stand on the lava sea was because its cold aura was constantly solidifying the lava into rock to give it a good foundation. But Jasn didn’t have that privilege, so he would have to use whatever he had! Jason created a shadow platform behind him and used that as a springboard to shoot off towards the beast!
BOOM!
SLASH!
Jason cut across the beast’s chest with the Death’s Mirage, but even before he was done with the cut, it had already started healing, and the beast shot its arm towards Jason to smack him out of the air!
WOOSH!
SQUELCH!
A golden lance suddenly stabbed through the beast’s arm, and the beast roared in pain! Sicario appeared from the sky and grabbed the lance before pulling it up to try to cut the beast’s arm off! But the beast managed to pull its arm back quickly enough, and it roared as it tried to unleash a blast of cold air at the two attackers, but Jason just grinned when he only felt a cool breeze floating past his face, and he called out!
"NOW!"
Ragnar and Trigon both appeared from behind the beast and unleashed their flames!
KA-BOOMMM!!!
It was like the entire world suddenly erupted in a massive ball of fire! Both Ragnar and Trigon were in their element in this world, so this was the first time that they could unleash their true potential against this beast! The beast let out a massive roar in pain once the attack landed, and that was what allowed the Skrill to come in for a sneak attack. All Skrills possessed powerful vocal cords that they could use to unleash dangerous sonic waves when fighting against other predators, and Jason told Sicario to cover his ears just as the Skrill opened its mouth!
SCREEEEECCCHHHH!!!
The entire world trembled from the intense sound that suddenly blasted out from the Skrill’s mouth, and Jason could feel his eardrums shaking even after he blocked them with his hands! The Beast’s eardrums immediately ruptured from the attack, and blood began to leak from its ears as it reached up to try and grab the Skrill with an angry roar, but the Skrill quickly dashed away, and Jason took a moment to finally speak with Sicario.
"What the fuck do you mean the beast is immortal? I thought that was just a myth."
Sicario shrugged nonchalantly, like he couldn’t believe Jason didn’t already know this, and he put his hands down from his ears before he spoke.
"It’s definitely not a myth. There’s a reason why the beast has existed for this long and taken control of so many worlds. This bastard has been hunted down for more than five thousand years. People far stronger than you and me have hunted it and killed it many times over. But every time it dies, it comes back to life like some sort of phantom. It can’t be killed."
"Then what the fuck are we even doing here? How the fuck did you plan to kill it if it’s fucking immortal?"
Jason glared at Sicario as he said this, and Sicario laughed at Jason’s annoyance! Sicario really didn’t think that Jason was this clueless about the beast that they had been hunting! Jason narrowed his eyes at him, and Sicario finally stopped laughing when he saw Jason’s seriousness, and he answered.
"The beast might be immortal, but that doesn’t mean it can’t die. Every time it’s killed, it takes a few lunar cycles before it respawns in its territory, so killing it isn’t completely pointless. If we take its life now, then we can be assured it won’t come back for at least a decade."
Jason turned to glare at the beast, and he felt another intense heat wave surge through the area when Trigon unleashed another flaming breath. This was not what Jason had been planning at all. Jason thought that by bringing the beast here, he would be able to weaken it enough to finally kill it. But now Jason was learning that killing it wasn’t even going to make it stop! What was even the point of this, then? Wouldn’t the beast just come after him again after it resurrects?
"I understand your anger. This beast has destroyed many worlds, and I swore to kill it at least once to pay it back for its actions. But if there was some way to make sure it never came back to life, then I would have found it already."
Sicario suddenly spoke up from the side while glaring at the beast, and Jason felt a lightbulb go off in his head. What the hell had he been thinking all this time? Of course, there was a way to make sure the beat didn’t come back! All those other people who killed the beast weren’t able to do anything about the beast’s soul returning to its body after death, but that was only because none of those people weren’t him.
’If I killed it myself, wouldn’t things be different?’
Jason could feel a strange excitement rising from his heart at the mere thought of killing a beast like this. How long has it been since Jason even thought about subduing a beast that was more powerful than him and taking it as his subordinate? And this wasn’t just some random beast; it was the literal killer of worlds. The Beast of the Apocalypse that was one rank higher than Jason! If Jason could really take it as his subordinate, then that would boost Jason’s power astronomically! But Jason didn’t even know if this would work. Jason had never attempted to use his powers against something that was literally immortal, so would he even be able to trap the soul of something like that? Or would it turn out like the phalynx and lynx from when he was on Varigan?
Right now, Jason was going off the assumption that the reason for the beast’s immortality was that its soul was not going into the [River of the Afterlife]. From what Jason knew about the Grim Reaper, every soul that entered his domain would never leave again, so the fact that the Grim Reaper would allow the beast to return so many times meant the beast’s soul was always wandering around the space between the mortal plane and the [River of the Afterlife] for a few years before returning to its body. But if Jason kills the Beast, then its soul would become tied to Jason instead, and that would allow Jason to cut off its resurrection and gain it as a subordinate. Or at least, that was what Jason hoped would happen. 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮
’Who gives a damn. Let’s just kill it and see what happens.’
Jason felt a feral smile growing on his lips when this thought crossed his mind, and he quickly called on all the dragons in his Legion! A resounding roar echoed through the area as hundreds of dragons flew out from the Alternate Dimension and headed straight for the Beast, and Sicario felt his eyes widen in surprise when he saw the dragons! Sicario turned to Jason in shock!
"Where did those come from? Was it you? I heard you were a necromancer, but these don’t look like dead creatures; they look more alive than anything. How do you control them?"
Jason didn’t bother to answer any of Sicario’s rapid questions. Jason went down to one knee and lifted his trousers before touching a speed rune that was drawn on his leg. The rune glowed with a bright blue light as it activated, and then Jason moved on to begin touching various runes around his body. Jason activated a strength rune on his arm and multiple defensive runes on his chest. There was a rune above his lungs that allowed him to breathe easier and increased his stamina, and then he activated a rune on the side of his head that would increase his reaction time and agility. Once he was done, he spoke to Sicario seriously.
"Give me an opening to hit the nape. I’m going to try something."
