Jason spoke to Sicario seriously.

"Give me an opening to hit the nape. I’m going to try something."

Sicario sensed the commanding tone in Jason’s voice, and he raised a brow at him. Jason was already used to commanding his subordinates, so he had unconsciously used the same tone on Sicario, but Sicario’s expression showed that he didn’t like being spoken to like that. But Sicario noticed that Jason wasn’t even looking at him, and he could see the absolute concentration on Jason’s face, so Sicario decided that he would allow it to pass just this once.

"Very well, I’ll follow your orders for this battle since you seem so certain of victory. I hope you don’t disappoint me, Jason Marc."

Sicario shot off towards the large beast, and he easily went past the horde of dragons that were already heading for the beast! Sicario stabbed his spear forward and flowed into a twisted corkscrew in the air that increased his piercing power by multiple times, and at the same time, Ragnar unleashed a massive blast of fire that forced the beast to turn around and try to swipe it out of the air!

Sicario’s spear stabbed down into the monster’s back, and the beast let out a bellowing roar as it felt an intense pain shoot through its body! Sicario grinned as he grabbed his spear and pulled back quickly before flying off to avoid the sudden rain of fire that was shot off by all the dragons following behind him! 𝚏𝕣𝐞𝗲𝐰𝕖𝐛𝐧𝕠𝕧𝚎𝚕.𝐜𝚘𝗺

There were more than two hundred dragons in Jason’s Legion that were either Rooks or Bishops, and each and every single one of them was currently in their natural habitat, so they could feel an intense boost to their fire that was fueled by the sheer heat given off by this world! And when the dragons unleashed their flames on the beast, it was like the heavens themselves had opened up and unleashed a rain of pure fire!

PHWOOOOOOMM!!

KA-BOOMM!!

A fiery crescendo of pure destruction slammed into the Beast and eviscerated everything around him! The Legion dragons hadn’t been able to touch the beast at all before now because the intense winds that the beast was using as protection would freeze any attack that they tried to unleash, but now that the world itself was acting as a natural absorber that canceled out the natural cold of the beast, the flames were able to slam directly into the beast! And no matter how strong the beast was, there was no way its natural defences would be able to stand up to the firepower of more than two hundred Rooks that were in the prime of their undead lives!

BUUUUUOOOOHHH!!!

A scream unlike anything ever heard before echoed through the world as the beast cried out in pain! The floor around the beast began to melt and break apart again as the intense heat countered the beast’s natural cold, and the beast stumbled and fell into the lava below! The beast splashed around in the lava before it grabbed hold of the edge of a rock platform and tried to pull itself up, but Sicario flashed forward in a golden light that suddenly cut across the beast’s face, and the beast let out another loud roar as both its eyes were sliced open! The beast swiped its hand across the air in anger, but Sicario was already out of range, and he raised his spear into the air and began to gather a bright golden light around it!

"This is it! You’d better be ready!"

Sicario shouted this to Jason just before pointing his spear at the beast and unleashing a blast of pure golden mana that tore a hole straight through its left hand!

BOOOOM!!!

A large chunk of the beast’s left arm was immediately torn off, and the beast roared in pain as it lost its grip on the edge and began to slide back into the lava! Its eyes were already healing, but now that it also lost an arm, it realised that it was in a state that was completely vulnerable to attack, and so its natural defences suddenly kicked up to its highest gear and roared to life!

DOOONNNN!

A massive chill began to spread out from the beast’s body as it fought back against the people attacking it, and the lava began to solidify as a great storm formed in the air above the beast! The Beast was sure that none of the people who had attacked it would be able to get through this storm, but the Beast had never accounted for Jason!

Jason was standing on a black shadow platform a few hundred meters away from the beast, and the moment he saw that he had a clear shot straight for the beast’s nape, he crouched and shot off like a bullet!

BOOM!

The sound barrier broke multiple times as Jason rocketed forward! The time between when he blasted off from the platform and when he reached the beast was barely even a second, but in that second, Jason felt the entire world darkening around him! The intense cold from the beast began to form ice particles around Jason, and the storm slammed into Jason’s defences and tried to push him off! But the runes fought back against them and allowed Jason to move without any restrictions! Jason activated the [Death’s Mirage] and the long purple sword came to life in a beam of pure power! The Beast sensed that there was someone behind it and tried to swipe its hand back to slap Jason away, but Trigon appeared from the side and intercepted the hit with its body! The large dragon was blasted away like a rocket and died immediately, but that gave Jason enough space to get past the beast’s defences and reach its nape! Jason pulled back with gritted teeth, and he poured every drop of mana he could spare into the Death’s Mirage before stabbing forward!

SQUELCH!

The sword stabbed into the thick, diamond-like skin of the beast’s neck, but it could not go any deeper than a few inches since the beast’s skin was so fucking thick! Jason grit his teeth as he felt the beast raising its hand to slap him away, and he roared as he poured even more mana into the sword! The sword grew stronger and almost stabbed through the neck, but it still wasn’t enough to pierce all the way through, and Jason realised in that moment that his mana was just not powerful enough to get through this defence! Jason had far more mana than the Beast of the Apocalypse, but the difference in the quantity of mana didn’t matter because the quality of the beast’s mana was just far greater!

Jason was standing on the beast’s nape, and he was completely open to the next attack, so the best thing he could do at that moment was to back off and think of something else! But was an opportunity like this ever going to present itself again!? It took the attack of more than two hundred dragons, as well as a TITAN Rank just to get this beast in this state, and Jason was certain that the beast would never allow itself to fall for that attack again!

’Fuck that! This bastard dies now!’

Jason grit his teeth as he tightened his grip on the sword, and a massive surge of power began to pour out from his core and into the rest of his body!
