Gina laughed softly as she remembered the conversation she had with her mother a long time ago, when she had mistakenly heard her parents having sex after they argued earlier that day. Gina had only been fifteen at that time, so she had been completely embarrassed by what she heard, but her mother pulled her aside later and had the talk with her. Gina had asked her mother why they were already having sex since she knew that her mother had been angry at her father just a few hours ago, and the answer her mother gave her was something that Gina didn’t believe until this moment.

"What are you giggling about?"

Jason spoke in a deep, baritone voice that sent a shiver of pleasure through Gina’s chest, and Gina wrapped her legs around Jason and pet his hair gently as she answered.

"I’m just remembering something my mum told me a long time ago. It still makes me laugh."

"You mean that time you ran into them having sex?"

Jason chuckled as he said this, and Gina couldn’t help but laugh as well. Jason and Gina had been friends for so long that sometimes, Gina couldn’t help but want to let Jason know about the things that happened to her. She had been so embarrassed about catching her parents and having the talk that she couldn’t even look Jason in the eye the next time they met, since she had been dreaming about having sex with him the previous night. Jason had immediately noticed that there was something wrong when Gina started avoiding his gaze, and since Gina was too shy to tell Jason that she had a wet dream about him, she just blurted out what she heard her parents doing and made him swear never to tell them that she told him! That was one of the funniest memories from their childhood because Gina’s parent easily noticed that Jason would blush any time he looked at them, and Jason ended up getting the ’talk’ as well when they realised what happened. Neither Jason nor Gina could touch each other for almost a week after that without blushing up a storm!

Jason sighed into Gina’s chest as he felt a sense of peace coming over him just from being with her like this, and Gina’s hand calmly going over his scalp only made him dive deeper into sleep. Jason knew that at this rate, he was going to pass out very soon, and he was already more than willing to let go of all the stress from his previous battle and go straight to sleep, but Jason suddenly heard Gina speak up.

"Jason...?"

"Hmm?"

Jason hummed calmly from Gina’s chest in response, and Gina went silent for a few seconds before Jason suddenly heard something unbelievable.

"Jason... have you ever thought about becoming a dad?"

Jason hummed in confusion.

"Why are you asking me that?"

"I was just curious, y’know. If you heard that you were going to be a dad, how would you feel?"

A sense of realisation slowly began to dawn on Jason in that moment, and Jason was silent for a few long seconds before he finally spoke.

"Gina... what are you trying to tell me?"

Gina swallowed at the serious tone Jason had, and she took in a deep breath before she finally just blurted out a simple sentence.

"I’m pregnant, Jason."

It was like Jason had just been given a straight shot of coffee that kicked him out of the dream state immediately! Jason’s eyes opened with complete wakefulness, and he slowly turned his head around to look up at Gina in pure disbelief.

"Huh?"

"Uhm, I said... I said I’m pregnant. I just found out a few hours ago too, and I was a little shocked, but Bethsha said that she was certain about it and she knew the moment I entered the castle, and.... I think we’re having a baby."

Gina almost started to rant like a broken record when she saw the look of pure shock on Jason’s face. Gina had no idea how Jason would react to this sort of news, so she could only wait with bated breath for Jason to fully process what she told him. But Gina wasn’t prepared for Jason to suddenly sit up in bed and put a hand on her face gently before speaking.

"Gina, wait... slow down. You said Bethsha was the one who confirmed it? How? When?"

"She has some sort of life detection skill that allows her to easily see things like these. It comes with her blessing of water. We were talking earlier when you weren’t around, and she just told me about it..."

As Gina spoke, she almost felt too scared to even glance at Jason, but a part of her suddenly made her turn to him to try and see what exactly he was thinking at that moment, and nothing could have prepared Gina for the look she saw on Jason’s face. Gina could sense a deep well of worry somewhere inside Jason, but the expression on his face was so radiant that Gina was almost shocked by how wide his smile was! Jason looked happier than Gina had ever seen him before!

Jason crawled forward so that he was looking directly down at Gina, and he spoke with a wide smile.

"Are you sure you’re pregnant, Gina. A hundred percent?"

Gina looked into Jason’s eyes, and she saw so much happiness in there that she couldn’t help but smile as well. Gina ducked her head and nodded, and she let out a cry in shock as Jason suddenly lifted her into the air and spun her around with a laugh!

"HAHAHA! This is amazing! We’re going to be parents!"

"Jason, put me down! Hahaha~!"

Gina couldn’t help but laugh as Jason’s happiness easily infected her! Gina had expected many reactions from Jason when he learned about this. She expected fear, or confusion, or maybe even a bit of anger, but Gina couldn’t deny that what she wanted the most was for Jason to be happy about them becoming parents, and at this moment, Gina felt all the emotions that she had been holding back come pouring out from her again. Gina began to cry, and she leaned down and hugged Jason’s head gently as he spun her around a few more times! Once Jason was done with his celebration, he gently put her down and smiled at her like a man who had just discovered his purpose in life. Jason started to help Gina clean up her tears, and Gina laughed as she tried and failed to stop her tears from falling. These stupid hormones were ruining the moment.

But Jason didn’t look like he cared at all about Gina’s tears, and he leaned down and kissed her gently. Gina had never felt Jason be so soft with her before, and she realised that Jason had subconsciously started to treat her more gently the moment he discovered that she was pregnant. That thought only made her emotions well up again, and it caused her to continue crying even though she desperately wanted to stop. Gina laughed softly between her tears once they separated, and Jason ran his fingers under her eyes before pressing their foreheads together and speaking in a loving tone.

"I love you so much, Gina."
