But it was the second man that Jason was really wary of. This man was still lying inside his cylindrical prison even though the door had already opened. His eyes were closed and his hands were folded across his chest like he was a vampire sleeping in his coffin, but the moment Jason saw him, Jason could tell that this man was stronger than every other prisoner here.

’TITAN Rank II? Yes, somewhere in that range, but stronger than me. He’s close to becoming a TITAN Rank III. If I want to win this, then I need to kill those two first. My subordinates can take care of the other prisoners that are below TITAN Rank.’

This thought passed through Jason’s mind, and he glanced to the side as he heard Azrael’s voice echo in his head.

’My King, I’ve analysed the shield holding us in. It appears to be some sort of forcefield activated using an artefact. I have never seen a forcefield like this before, so there is a chance that it is from an artificial artefact. I’ll try my best to decipher the conditions for deactivation.’

Jason hummed in response to the report and he decided that he would have to play around with these fools for a few minutes to buy time for Azrael. Jason had noticed right from when the shield went up that he couldn’t communicate with any of his subordinates that were outside the shield and he also couldn’t use his ability to switch places with those subordinates, but it was easy for the subordinates to come inside the shield, so that meant the shield had been built in a way that prevented anything from leaving but allowed anything to enter. For some reason, this made the shield so strong that even Jason with all his power didn’t think he could break it using sheer force alone, so he sent Azrael to take a look at it and see what they could do.

Woosh!

All of a sudden, there was a shift in the battlefield, and Jason blinked in mild surprise as he saw a woman flying straight at him with her hand pulled back for a punch! The woman was completely naked and her hair was made from raw fire! There was a mad look in her eyes and her lips were split into a wide smile as she shouted!

"Your head is mine – Oof!"

KA-BOOM!

But before the attack could land, Stella appeared from the side and grabbed the woman by the face before sending her straight back to the ground and slamming her into the rock! A massive explosion erupted through the battlefield as Stella activated one of her explosive skills, and Jason saw the naked prisoner fly out from the smoke and slam into the ground hundreds of meters away! Gina appeared beside Jason and stood with a protective air around her, and it almost seemed like the actions of the first woman managed to light a fire in the hearts of every single prisoner there as they quickly charged for Jason!

"Hey, he’s mine! Get out of the way!"

"I’m going to fucking kill him!"

"I’ll chop him into a million pieces! Nyahahahaha!"

"If you get in my way, I’ll kill you!"

"Just die for me."

The prisoners all shouted as hundreds of them charged straight for Jason, and Jason sent a message to Gina through their mental link.

’I’m going to change the terrain. Make sure you defend properly.’

Gina was a little confused about what Jason meant at first, but once she felt the cold aura around Jason growing in intensity, she realised what he meant, and she immediately activated her [Sage] skill before Jason put his hand out and released his restraints.

It was as though the entire world was suddenly plunged into an eternal winter. The temperature in the field dropped rapidly as storm clouds began to form in the sky above, and a massive gale wind suddenly blew out from Jason’s body and slammed into the prisoners that had been charging towards him! Everyone was pushed back by the intense storm, and Jason watched as they screamed while getting thrown about by the sudden typhoons swirling around them! Some of the stronger prisoners who could withstand the cold managed to remain on their feet and they just put their hands to their face to try and block out the wind, but the weaker SS Ranks who didn’t have any affinity for fire or ice could feel a chill seeping deep into their bones!

Behind Jason, Gina couldn’t feel any of the cold or wind at all. The cold didn’t affect Gina because it was Jason’s skill and the wind was being pushed away by her sage skill. On the other side of the battlefield, the Machina General Destro put his hand up to his face and almost fell to his back in shock when he felt the snow and intense winds blowing around him! The grassy field was immediately transformed into a winter wasteland covered in snow and he looked around in disbelief! These winds weren’t something Jason had before, were they? No, this was something recent! And there was only one creature that could produce such a cold aura without any effort at all! Destro looked over at Jason with shock on his face.

’Did he really kill the Beast of the Apocalypse? How is that even possible? I thought the beast was immortal. But it doesn’t matter. If this is all he has, then it won’t change much. The prisoners are all hardened fighters and they can still fight properly even if the terrain is so different.’

But Destro was about to be even more shocked by what happened next. Jason’s cold aura began to grow even more imposing as he released more of his mana, and all of a sudden, Jason activated a new skill.

It was as though an angel of ice suddenly tore through the entire landscape! An intense aura washed over everyone in the region, and Destro was shocked when he saw ice gathering on his hands and feet! Destro immediately released his own mana to counter the attack and he was barely able to stop the skill from freezing him in place since he was a very high level SSS rank. But there were many criminals that weren’t so lucky. The powers of the criminals ranged from high SS Rank to very high SSS Rank, and every single SS Rank and even some of the SSS Ranks felt the Flash Freeze grab them in its claws! The prisoners let out screams of shock as their bodies began to freeze over and they tried using their mana to fight back against it! But there was nothing they could do against a TITAN Rank skill at all and in less than two seconds, they had all frozen into solid silver statues!

This one display of power from Jason managed to cut the number of prisoners down from almost five hundred to just barely two hundred. But Jason knew that this wasn’t over just yet because all he had done was get rid of the weaklings. All the prisoners that were remaining were the strongest fighters and mages, and they were the ones Jason would have to put in some effort to actually deal with. Surprisingly, the two fighters that Jason was the most worried about hadn’t moved at all yet. They were still in their positions and Jason could tell that they weren’t bothered by the winds or cold at all. Jason’s eyes narrowed as he deactivated his [Aura of Winter] skill, and in the next moment, he called on the Legion.
