Chapter 634: Enemies That Aren’t Afraid to Die

Thousands of Legion soldiers appeared from the Alternate Dimension and covered the entire field in a battle formation, and Jason could see the prisoners glancing at the army with wary expressions on their faces. The prisoner with extremely dense mana, who had been standing still all this time, seemed to finally look towards Jason with some interest in his eyes, but the strongest prisoner was still lying inside his cylinder uncaringly. Jason immediately gave his orders.

’Trigon, Ragnar, you’re in charge of the air forces. Braga, Yelena, you’re in charge of the ground forces. Divide into groups and form a pincer movement around the prisoners. Trap them in and take them down one by one. Gina, take Stella with you and go kill that bastard.’

The last person he pointed to was Destro, the Machina general that was still standing a few kilometers away from where Jason was, and once Jason gave his orders, Jason watched as all his subordinates quickly took off ot do as they were told! The Legion consisted of hundreds of powerful creatures from both SS and SSS Rank, but even though their numbers were high, there was still a great difference in strength between them and the prisoners since the prisoners were mainly made up of SSS ranks who managed to survive against the TITAN Rank skill [Flash Freeze]. The Legion was seriously outmatched in terms of raw power! But thankfully, the Legion more than made up for their lack of strength with sheer numbers, and they also had other tricks that would help them match the power of the prisoners! The prisoners let out loud roars as they charged straight for the Legion! Some of them began to unleash their magic as the pressure in the field increased, and others pulled out weapons from various places. Jason watched emotionlessly as the two armies clashed in the middle of the field, and a massive fireball suddenly burst into life as more than a hundred Rook Rank III subordinates activated [Kamikaze]! The explosion was so intense that it managed to melt all the snow for various kilometres around it, and it blasted the other prisoners away and threw them to the ground!

Some of the prisoners immediately got to their feet and charged into the air to try and reach Jason, and this time it was Trigon and Ragnar that charged straight for them! The first prisoner they ran into was a female with large bat wings and a muscled build that made her look like an Amazon. The Amazon had sharp nails and teeth, and she immediately tried to slash Trigon across the neck when she got close! Trigon managed to dodge the attack, and Trigon quickly moved to fight against another incoming attacker as Ragnar appeared from behind the Amazon and unleashed fire!

ROARRRR!

The Amazon screamed in pain as Ragnar’s SSS Rank flames poured over her, and Ragnar had to dodge out of the way as the Amazon suddenly turned around and almost slashed him across the face with her nails! The Amazon unleashed her mana to put out the flames before she dashed straight for him! The Amazon was also an SSS Rank, so even though Ragnar’s fire was enough to hurt her, it wasn’t enough to kill her in one move!

Things continued like this in the sky, and from what Jason could see, he knew that it was only a matter of time before his subordinates wore the prisoners out. But Jason could tell that there was something different about fighting these prisoners compared to when he was fighting against soldiers or regular mages. The soldiers and mages that Jason had fought before, as well as the magical beasts that he had met inside the gates on Earth, always hesitated slightly when they were faced with the intensity of Jason’s Legion. They always had this bit of fear in them because they could see that the Legion were more than ready to die just to take them out! But that fear wasn’t present in these prisoners! Jason didn’t know if it was because they had been on death row for so long or if it was just something that they acquired because they were used to a life of crime, but most of the criminals didn’t have any hesitation about throwing themselves into danger! It was as if they had already thrown their lives away a long time ago, and they were more than prepared to die!

But even though Jason’s Legion didn’t have the advantage that came from the opponents’ fear, Jason knew that there was no way he would lose since his subordinates would just keep coming back no matter how many times they were killed! Usually, Jason would have employed some form of battle tactic against these prisoners, but Jason realised that any battle tactic he tried to use here with the Rooks and Pawns would definitely fail. The only reason why Jason bothered using battle tactics in the past was because his opponents were foot soldiers who could die from long-range attacks. But these prisoners were too strong, so they were more likely to just avoid any long-range attack and counter with their own attack!

KA-BOOM!

Another massive explosion went off down on the battlefield, and Jason watched the prisoners tear through his army before he sent a message to the system.

’Bypass the permissions for now and automatically resurrect any dead subordinate. Give me a warning when my mana reaches fifty percent.’

[Order received. The system will resurrect subordinates without seeking the user’s permission until mana level drops to fifty percent.]

Once the system received this order, Jason watched as his mana began to drop rapidly as all the subordinates that had died in the kamikaze attacks were brought back to life! The look on the faces of the prisoners when they saw the enemies that they killed coming back again was priceless, but Jason couldn’t focus much on that since he had to turn his attention towards Gina. Jason had told Gina and Stella to go and take care of Destro. And even though it might have seemed like overkill to send a TITAN Rank and an SSS Rank to take care of one General, Jason knew that Destro had some sort of trick up his sleeve, and he wanted Stella to be there with Gina in case Destro tried anything. But right now, rather than fighting, Destro was running away quickly to avoid getting caught by Gina and Stella, and both girls had to fight off a horde of prisoners who were trying to prevent them from reaching Destro! The prisoners knew that Destro had their lives in his hands, and if he died, then they were all dead, so they were doing their best to keep Gina and Stella away from him! Gina pointed her hand towards Destro and unleashed multiple wind arrows, but her attack was blocked by a large creature that could roll into a defensive ball! The creature shot towards them like a bowling ball, and Gina quickly activated Windblade!

Slash!

The Windblade flew straight for the man and tore off a large section of his body, and Gina had to quickly move out of the way as a massive ball of acid was spat towards her from the side! Gina turned to see who was there, but before she could attack, Stella had already unleashed a wave of red swordaura towards the creature and split it in half with her sword! Gina quickly took off after Destro again, and this time the wind arrows that she unleashed slammed into his back, but even with those attacks, Destro didn’t seem like slowing down at all. Destro quickly flew past a few more prisoners and shouted for them to stop Gina and Stella, and Gina clicked her tongue in annoyance before she quickly called out to Stella!

"Stop the general. I’ll take care of the prisoners."

Gina quickly dashed forward to meet the prisoners, and Stella wasted no time as she pulled out a stick from behind her back that quickly expanded into a massive bow!
