Chapter 435: Royal Idea

"My only brother is getting married, so ofcourse I’ll be there. Congratulations on the wedding. I wish you both true happiness," Anthony said before flashing me a gentlemanly smile.

"Thank you..." I said all that I could say.

I wanted to tell him to quickly patch things up with his brother because nothing good could ever come from a conflict, but I coudn’t bring myself to say anything more. It was unfortunate that these twisted love triangles existed. They were not just hard to deal with, but one would never know how long-lasting the effect of heartbreak and disappointment would be.

After wishing me a safe journey back, we parted ways for the day. I was certain that the next time that I would get to see Anthony would be at my big day. As I made my way to arrange other preparations for the upcoming wedding, I tried my best to push the look of hurt and disappointment on Anthony’s face away from my mind. It might take a while until I could completely forget it all, but I was determined to focus on the happiness that was right in front of me.

"It’s going to be alright," I told myself with the will to believe in my own words.

...

**The day before the wedding**

My wedding was just around the corner and everything felt like it had fallen into place thanks to the hard work of the organizers as well as my dear sister. I felt optimistic for once in a very long while that everything was going to work out smoothly without any hiccups.

"There’s nothing for you to worry about. Just focus on having fun at your own wedding. I’ll be there to support you along with the organizer’s team. Nothing can or will go wrong," Diana told me while she was beaming with confidence.

"Thank you for all the hard work that you put into this. I really can’t thank you enough," I replied.

"You can thank me by looking all smiley and happy all throughout your wedding and not worry about anything," Diana replied before clapping her hand.

I could tell that she was extremely excited for the upcoming wedding, and that made me think that the swirling feeling that I felt in the pit of my stomach must have been excitement as well.

"Let’s have fun," I told my sister with a smile.

"What is your groom up to these days? Honestly, I haven’t seen him at all. I mean, I didn’t expect someone like to get his own hands dirty preparing for the wedding, but not showing up at all is a little strange," Diana complained before letting out a sigh.

"He’s probably busy with work as always. I thought that Bradon would be less busy now that Anthony has gotten back to work, but that’s not the case. It’s like he is now more focused on his own work and is even more busy than before," I explained.

"Still, this is is wedding, the real one. He should at least pay some attention to it instead of just working his ass off on his business," Diana commented before rolling her eyes to show her disapproval.

"At least he paid for the organizers. I think they did a good job in supporting both you and me," I replied as I tried to keep my tone light.

It truly didn’t bother me that Bradon had left matters related to the wedding ceremony and celebration entire in my hands. I knew that he was busy, and my gut told me that there were things that he needed to sort out that may be related to our future together. I didn’t want to disturb him nor act needy.

"Look at you! Already protecting your groom as if he’s already your husband. You should never give him an easy time. You should be hard on him, be demanding, and make sure that you always have the upper hand," Diana advised.

"Oh please..." I said before letting out a laugh.

"We just have to go through the details one last time, and make sure that you brief your groom as well. Although the organizers said that they will do it, it’s still better for you to make sure. I mean, the man isn’t even here for the final walkthrough and the wedding is tomorrow!" Diana complained once again.

"Please don’t sound like your panicking. It’s going to make nervous as well," I warned her.

Just as we were staring at each other, the head of the organizing team knocked on the door. Diana turned to greet her with a welcoming smile as she headed into the room. However, just one look at her face told me that something had gone gravely wrong.

"Is something the matter?" I asked.

"What happened?" Diana asked at almost the same time.

The talented middle-aged lady who was in charge in prepping and running the entire show that was supposed to be my wedding sat down. She glanced at both of us uncomfortably as she shifted her weight slightly in her seat.

"Umm..." she mumbled as she hesitated about how to break the seemingly bad news to us.

"What is it? There’s not need to beat around the bush. Whatever it is, just let us know and we’ll figure it out together," Diana told her encouragingly.

The lady still looked nervous, while I felt like I was about to lose all of my patience completely. It was unlike her calm and composed self to be acting this way. Leona has had countless years of experience organizing weddings. We all admired her track record of starting right at the bottom and rising up through the ranks in the wedding organizing business until she had built an empire of her own. Seeing her so thrown off her balance like this made me feel very on edge.

"Just recently, we received a message from the palace," she finally disclosed in a shaky voice.

"The palace? What about?" Diana quickly jumped in to ask her questions.
