Supreme Hunter of Beautiful Souls-Chapter 67: Gathering of Kings
The surroundings of the mansion were imposing. The wide courtyard was surrounded by tall stone walls adorned with vines and flowers cascading to the ground, creating an almost mystical atmosphere. As they entered through the main door, the interior of the mansion enveloped them with a sense of grandeur. The marble floors reflected the soft light of golden chandeliers, and velvet tapestries adorned the walls, depicting the history of the Scarlet family in vivid detail.
"Welcome, Lord Adalric," a rather rigid butler said, bowing, accompanied by several maids and workers in the mansion.
"Oh, Robert. It’s been a while," Adalric said with a smile. "It’s good to see you still remember to keep your posture even in front of a brute like me."
Robert, the butler, maintained his impeccable stance, but his eyes glistened with a slight smile at the sight of Adalric, a man of great stature and presence who, for some reason, always managed to maintain a friendly aura. "Always, Lord Adalric. The house is always prepared for your arrival. And, of course, for the young lady as well," he said, noticing Kael’s presence with a respectful glance.
"And this... young man, who would he be?" Robert asked, looking at Kael, who felt slightly uncomfortable.
"Ah, yes, he is a guest, staying here for a few days... Let’s just say he’s more important than I am," Adalric commented, and Robert’s face showed a hint of confusion before he heard a whisper in his ear. "He is a Scarlet, don’t you dare do anything... that crazy Witch will be here soon," Adalric said using a communication spell. Robert almost lost his composure upon hearing Adalric’s words, his face paling for a moment. He knew exactly what this meant. The mention of the Witch Queen always had a significant impact, and the idea of Kael being a Scarlet made the situation even more delicate. Robert’s expression softened quickly, and he bowed once again, this time with even more respect than before.
"My apologies, young Kael," Robert said, with a more formal and cautious tone. "I did not realize your lineage immediately. We are honored to have you in our home."
Kael, still feeling a bit uncomfortable, gave a small bow, trying to hide the tension. "No problem, Robert. I understand. It happens often." He glanced at Adalric, who wore a mischievous smile, enjoying Kael’s discomfort.

Adalric, for his part, seemed amused by Robert’s reaction. "Robert, you still have that knack for choking on a compliment. Don’t worry, Kael can be a little imposing, but he’s a good kid."

Robert, apparently recovered from his small shock, nodded and then gestured for Kael to follow inside the mansion. "Please, come in. We’ll make sure everyone is comfortably settled. The night is approaching, and with it, a well-deserved rest."
The mansion, as Kael quickly noticed, was a spectacle in itself. The stone walls were adorned with silk tapestries that told stories of the Scarlet lineage, and the golden chandeliers illuminated the grand main hall. The marble floors reflected the light from the candles, and the atmosphere exuded a sophistication Kael had never experienced before.
Adalric, noticing Kael’s surprise, gave a smile. "Robert, have the maids prepare a bath for Irelia and the young man here," he ordered.
"Of course, sir." Robert, always impeccable in his stance, nodded and quickly withdrew, summoning the maids to follow his instructions. Kael, still absorbing the grandeur of the mansion, took a look around. The tapestries on the walls depicted epic battles and the history of his lineage, figures of power and magic that seemed to look directly at him, as if challenging him to live up to all of this.
"I know it’s a lot to absorb at once," Adalric commented, noticing Kael’s thoughtful expression. "But just relax a little."
Before he could continue, Robert returned with a maid, who guided him to a large bathing room, filled with polished marble and large basins of warm water. The soft candlelight illuminated the room in a cozy way, creating a calm atmosphere.
"I will take care of everything, Sir Kael," the maid said in a gentle voice, leading him to the center of the room where a large bath was prepared.
Kael left with the maid, leaving Adalric and Robert behind...
"I’ll be back in a minute," Adalric said with a mischievous smile before disappearing as if he had disintegrated into the air, leaving only a faint breeze behind him.
However, he wasn’t really going far, and soon appeared in a towering spire, where a group of imposing figures had gathered. He casually sat at the top, placing his feet on the table, exuding an air of indifference with every movement.
"I’ve been waiting for you," a sarcastic voice said, coming from a figure approaching. A woman of Asian descent with piercing red eyes raised an eyebrow as she looked at Adalric, her conspiratorial smile reflecting the amusement of the situation. "Eva must be late again," she said with a slightly tired tone but a gleam of amusement in her eyes.
Adalric smiled broadly, reclining in the chair exaggeratedly, clearly at his own pace. "Of course she is. She never changes," he commented playfully before glancing at the man with his back against the wall. "Dagon, I thought you’d stay silent this time."
Dagon merely glanced over, his face impassive, but his deep, gravelly voice cut through the air. "I hate these meetings."
Adalric chuckled quietly, shaking his head while maintaining his relaxed position. "I know, Dagon. But I also know you’re a man of patience... sometimes too much patience."
At that exact moment, a figure appeared as though stepping out of mist, camouflaged up until that point. Her short hair and red coat were as imposing as her presence. Eva, the woman with blue eyes and a predatory expression, suddenly came into view. She smiled with a touch of irony, throwing a question into the air.
"The Four Sword Kings gathered..." Eva said with a provocative tone. "How many years has it been since this happened?"
Adalric, in his unmistakable calm style, leaned back in his chair and answered with his usual lightness. "Well, it seems the stars have finally aligned. But personally, I’m in no rush. I want to make this quick, I have things to attend to... like my niece and, of course, an interesting young man I’ve met."
Eva raised an eyebrow, clearly curious. "Oh? The Fourth King, the most ’dedicated’ to exterminating disciples, found someone interesting to take care of and even brought him to his house? That’s not something we see often, Adalric."
"Really, something’s off, isn’t it?" Erika said with an intrigued smile, eyeing Adalric suspiciously. "You usually kill most of them in the first week, don’t you?"
Adalric let out a calm laugh, clearly enjoying the others’ remarks. "I’m not that cruel... On the contrary, I like to give young ones a chance. What they do with it, well, that’s up to them."
The conversation continued casually, but Eva, who always liked to poke at the most delicate situations, didn’t take long to ask, "So, who’s the young one being tortured with this training? A new toy for you, Adalric?"
Adalric smiled even more enigmatically. "Ah, I’ve only trained him for a few days, nothing too serious. His name? Well... maybe I should keep it secret for a little longer."
Dagon, ever impatient, crossed his arms and demanded in a deep voice, "Spit it out."
"Alright, alright," Adalric said, a brighter gleam in his eyes, the amusement clearly showing in his smile. "The boy’s name? Well... he’s just the granddaughter of the Witch Queen."
The meeting room fell silent instantly. For a moment, no one dared to breathe. And then, an explosive laugh, unmistakable, filled the room. Eva erupted with a roar so powerful that the stones of the tower seemed to shake, making the ground vibrate beneath everyone present.
"HAHAHAHA! MY KAEL IS BEING TRAINED BY YOU?" Eva screamed, her voice possessed by a frenetic energy. Her laughter was almost uncontrollable, as if she had just heard the greatest secret in the world.
"HAHAHA, THE DESTINY, HE IS INCREDIBLE!" Eva screamed, possessed.
