Swordsman's Regression: Reawakened as a Necromancer-Chapter 154: Defeating Telekinesis
Using ⸢Blessed Edge⸥, he slashed horizontally, carving a deep gouge into the Lord’s emerald chest. Green, corrupted mana hissed and bled from the wound.
The Vampire Lord snarled, his form flickering as he prepared to activate ⸢Rewind Step⸥ to erase the damage.
Sixteen seconds.
Thirty feet away, Lewis held strong, controlling the ambient mana and countering the Skill that delayed their own Skills and also gave the Vampire Lord the ability to return to a state where a Skill had never harmed him.
The ⸢Stagnation Domain⸥.
"He tried to do it right now!" Lewis screamed, his eyes glowing intensely like gold stars. "I stopped him! He’s locked in the present!"
Eighteen seconds.
The Vampire Lord realized that his abilities were being messed with. But there was no problem, it was only two seconds left until he could use telekinesis again.
However, Percival wasn’t going to let that happen. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎
Before the sovereign could reignite his telekinesis, Percival drove his boot into the Lord’s chest and unleashed a point-blank blaze of ⸢Soulscorch⸥.
The Vampire Lord cried in pain as he was sent flying into the last remaining pillar, crashing and burning. Literally.
Percival saw the ⸢-1060 HP⸥, and quickly sped forward to use the advantage.
He suddenly froze. Not on his own accord. An alien magical energy had arrested his body and stolen control of it.
Percival frowned in frustration. The twenty seconds were over, and the Vampire Lord’s telekinesis was back.
"INSOLENT PARASITES!" The Vampire Lord roared, regaining his footing.
He immediately thrust Percival into the farthest wall, crushing him against the stone. The invisible hand of the Vampire Lord pressed Percival into the jagged stone, the telekinetic force threatening to pulverize his organs.
"Ughhh!" Percival groaned, trying to force himself out.
"Master!" Mercius hurried into an attack to rescue his lord, but the Vampire’s other hand shot forward, slamming him down to the ground.
Mercius strained to get up, but it was like the whole world had been placed on his back.
Lewis hurled mana blasts at the back of the Vampire Lord, but the earth rose behind the Demon and took the damage.
The Vampire Lord turned, and with his eyes alone, he sent Lewis crashing into the frozen crimson lake.
Lewis fainted on impact.
Then, the Vampire returned his focus on his prime target, the wolf-maned Swordsman who thought he could kill him.
He squeezed his arm, causing Percival’s heavy armor to shriek, squeezing into him as the Level 110 sovereign tried to flatten him into a bloody stain.
Percival gritted his teeth, his lungs burning as the oxygen was squeezed from his chest. The utter helplessness of being suspended, completely at the mercy of another being’s will, sent a searing spike of frustration straight through his core.
He realized how much he hated this. Being at the mercy of another being. The paralyzing grip of a power he couldn’t physically parry. His own body refusing his demands and following another’s.
Percival had defied the boundaries of time and death itself; he refused to die pinned to a wall like a common insect.
I am not a piece of shattered glass, Percival thought, his blue eyes blazing with a defiant, murderous light. I am not stone, and I am not a corpse to be moved.
As the stone cracked deeper behind him, Percival remembered his own attributes. He wasn’t like Lewis, a squishy Arcanist who relied solely on mana.
His Constitution stat was likely higher than anyone else’s in this very chamber. Which meant he had the physical fortitude to weather a demon boss’s wrath.
Slowly, impossibly, Percival began to push back. This didn’t require him casting a spell or swinging a blade; all he had to do was simply engage the monstrous, unyielding density of his own Constitution.
He planted his boots against the vertical face of the ruined wall, his muscles bulging beneath his armor as he fought the atmospheric crush.
The air around him began to warp and hiss, the invisible telekinetic barrier grinding against the absolute physical reality of Percival’s high-stat resistance.
Inch by agonizing inch, he pushed his chest forward, tearing himself away from the cratered stone.
The Vampire Lord’s emerald eyes widened in utter disbelief. "SEIZE! SEIZE YOUR ACTIONS IMMEDIATELY!" he demanded.
He thrust his hand forward, trembling with the effort to exert maximum gravity, but the invisible vice was slipping.
"I ORDER YOU!"
He tried and tried, forcing his magic to compel Percival into the wall. But the Necromancer was pushing back with a force the Demon Boss couldn’t begin to comprehend.
"IMPOSSIBLE!" the Vampire Lord bellowed, his voice cracking with shock and unadulterated fury.
To see a Level 49 human simply shrug off his ultimate authority was an insult that completely fractured his aristocratic pride.
Only an Awakener with a level far higher than his could have the mental fortitude to fight back against his telekinesis.
"WHO... ARE... YOU?" the Vampire Lord asked in sheer terror.
Percival stepped out of the wall with simplicity, like the magic wasn’t even affecting him at all. He swung his blade and angled it to the side, his dark long falling over his face.
He looked at the Vampire Lord and smirked weakly. "I’m Van Helsing."
The Vampire Lord snarled with desperate rage, baring his fangs. Percival exploded forward, physically shattering the telekinetic hold with a blast of Necromantic flames.
The displaced energy exploded outward with a concussive boom, sending a shockwave rippling across the frozen blood lake.
Screaming, the Vampire Lord sent forth a barrage of stones and jagged pillars like a volley of artillery shells. Percival didn’t retreat a single inch. Instead, his form violently burst into a cloud of thick blue smoke.
He ⸢Grave Stepped⸥ straight into the storm of flying debris. Reappearing instantly on the flat edge of a spinning chunk of stone mid-air, he dug his boots in and launched himself forward just as the rock was pulverized by a telekinetic crush.
He burst into blue smoke again, zig-zagging through the deadly bombardment, flawlessly riding the Vampire Lord’s own attack path straight back to the source.
The Vampire Lord barely had time to widen his glowing emerald eyes before the blue smoke coalesced directly in front of his face.
Percival didn’t give him a fraction of a second to react. He dragged the Basilisk Blade upward in a brutal, two-handed arc.
Purple flames roared to life along the dark steel as ⸢Soulscorch⸥ ignited, and he buried the flaming sword deep into the sovereign’s shoulder.
"ARRGGGH!" The Vampire Lord shrieked as the purple fire violently boiled his green mana-flesh. "YOU FILTH! HOW CAN YOU HARM ME! HAVE YOU NO REGRET FOR WHAT YOU DID TO MY LOVER?!"
He thrust his empty hand forward to blast Percival away, but the Necromancer was now completely immune to party tricks.
Percival ripped the blade out, pivoting his hips to deliver a crushing kick straight into the sovereign’s jaw. The boss’s head snapped back with a sickening crack, emerald light bleeding profusely from his shattered teeth.
Dropping his stance to keep the pressure on, Percival channeled raw death-mana into the edge of his blade and unleashed three point-blank ⸢Bladewave⸥.
The kinetic crescents engulfed the Vampire Lord’s chest, shredding his ruined velvet cloak and cratering his armor.
The Demon Boss was sent skidding violently backward across the frozen blood lake, coughing up thick green smoke as he frantically tried to regain his footing.
But Percival wasn’t done, and he wasn’t alone.
As the Vampire Lord staggered back, desperate to create space, a blinding flash of holy golden light erupted from his blind spot.
The Brackenbutcher was back.
The Soul Soldier launched himself through the air like a heavy-metal missile, his Descending Steel Lotus Armor burning with ⸢Divine Retribution⸥ still active.
Letting our a cavern-rattling roar, Mercius slammed his massive Paragon Shield directly onto the back of the Vampire Lord’s skull.
The impact sounded like a cathedral bell fracturing. The sovereign was violently pitched forward, his face smashing brutally into the frozen floor.
"Die Demon!"
"NEVER! YOU ALL MUST SUFFER FOR THIS!"
