System Discord-Chapter 70: SysDi : Speed, Strength and Courage 3
Evan felt the subtle air shift as the words escaped his lips. The whoosh can be heard like like he always did when using the Simulation Zone. Movement is always easier whenever he is in this state, able to pass through walls when needed.
He didn’t have to walk either, hovering also works if he is in a hurry. And right now, he would be. He needs to look for every single passage to see which one connects after all.
There could be many different ways. And what if all the ones he needs to pass has way to many enemies to defeat?
"So, what is the plan?" Iva asked, waiting for Evan to explain what to do.
Evan looks at the direction where he heard the wolves. Those wild wolves will be hungry, definitely. "I’m going to go through passages and find how to connect all of it. Find if there is a route where I don’t end up as wolf food."
Just thinking about fighting those wolves right now will be dangerous. Even if he used another one of his usage of the Simulation Zone to catch weakness for those wolves, he might not be able to survive once they all begin moving.
He points at where the howling was and then the walls of the corridor they are still on. "I think I still need to pass through that direction. But I will still check walls around this one to see if there’s more. Let me know if you notice anything new or weird."
Iva bounced up and landed on his head. "All right. Ready when you are."
Evan moves to the wall and began checking if there is anything weird in it. He was about to try and phase through the wall but he found out that it is hard.
His eyebrows furrowed and he placed a hand on it. Interestingly enough, the wall is right there, unyielding.
"Something wrong?" Iva asked.
"I can’t pass through." Evan replied, placing his other hand on the wall too. He pushed, but no luck.
"Your intention was find the route right?" At Evan’s nod, Iva continues. "Then maybe the Simulation Zone isn’t allowing you to phase through walls because it is included to your intention."
Evan groans a little after he heard that. Well, there went his plan. Either way, it just meant he can ignore the walls for now.
He began to hover towards the clear passage. Sure enough, the next corridor is filled up with wolves. They are much bigger than the tamed wolves that he has seen. Those tamed outside were almost like dogs, fluffy but big.
These wild wolves in front of him were bigger, scarier, and the look in their eyes were feral. They are all in the same shade of gray and white, as if they were native to a cold location rather than here.
He ignores them and continued to hover passed the currently frozen, feral wolves’ corridor. When he got at the end, a forked path appears before him.
"Which corridor are you going to check out?" Evan asked, wanting to divide the searching between them.
Iva looks at either of them and bounced from Evan’s head to the ground. "I’ll take the one on the right. I will come find you when I’m done."
It didn’t seem like Iva is interested in looking at two corridors itself, so Evan just nodded. "Okay. I’ll go look at the other two. If I find which way is not the dead end, I will try and leave something before I continue."
With that, they parted ways. Evan took the center first, while Iva went to the right.
Since he has no idea what Iva is going to find or see until later, Evan tried his best to be as observant as he can. He looked through the walls, using his Detect ability to see if there was anything amiss. 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢
Each time, the his ability didn’t give him anything useful, just that the wall is made from cobblestone.
Since that has been the case, there is no reason for him to hold onto the walls and feel around to see if there is something different on them.
Other than nothing, Evan noticed that the ceiling here is pretty high up, and that he had been hovering a least three or four feet up from the ground. He looks around him and noticed that there wasn’t anything.
He floats a little bit higher to have a closer eye to the ceiling. Evan noticed that there are branches going from left to right, each of them had bats hanging upside down.
The bats were in shades of purple, all had their eyes closed and they all had some sort of stripe like pattern on their legs that is green in color. They are also very big bats, ranging from half to Evan’s actual height.
There were, maybe at least double the amount of the frogs or the slimes he had fought. He would probably level up high enough if he continued here, but if he made a mistake, it would cost him way too much.
He also knew that if he had gotten here without everything being paused like this because of the Simulation Zone, Evan would have struggled and ended up losing anyway. He doesn’t exactly have any other abilities that he can use other than Void.
Evan moved back down lower and then began hovering towards the other end of the corridor. However, he realized that it is a dead end there. So, he had no choice but to turn back.
When he got back out from where he came from, Evan took a paper from his item inventory and crumpled it. Then, he placed the paper right outside of the new corridor he will come into.
It’s just to let Iva know where he is. And if it does find the the right passage and Evan had to be there, he can just follow. For now, it is time to check out what awaits him on the new passage.
