?"This Priest is weird…but a nice kind of weird," Zayn mumbled as he walked through the town to gather more information about the current situation of the Undead Caves and the response of the Adventurer Hall.

He wanted to know more about Phillip Clerk as well, especially because the idiot was searching for him.

Zayn didn't have much money left with him but that was fine. His wound had healed and he got to know the weird Priest Apprentice, whose name was Lilim. She may not be talkative but that could hardly be considered a downside.

Zayn had woken her up from her much-needed sleep, yet she healed him without a second of hesitation. The Priest Apprentice didn't even ask for her fee, which was a little bit confusing because Zayn had heard that Lilim was a greedy apprentice who loved money more than anything.

'I can just repay her…she saved me lots of trouble, after all!' He made a mental note to repay her debt as soon as possible as he entered one of the Inns near the Adventurer Hall.

The Inn was also a popular bar that was often frequented by the Adventurers of the Adventurer Hall, which was why Zayn came here, to begin with.

He was still wearing his cloak and the mask which he removed after he ordered a few dishes and beverages at the counter.

If his memories didn't betray him, two members of the Adventurer Hall were seated in the center of the room, surrounded by a few more drunkards. They were served by women who looked above average in an Era where most humans looked good.

'It is not even late at night and they're already that drunk…at least, I should be able to get my hands on some information,' Zayn thought with a shrug before he was served food not long after.

His eyes shone brightly and his mouth salivated at the sight of the steak that sizzled lightly and the other side dishes that looked even more delicious. Zayn swallowed his saliva and he paid the owner, who had begun to clean a few mugs behind the counter, before he started to gobble down the food.

He was trying to slow down instead of hogging it greedily but the food was too good and his body needed the nutrition. There was no self-restraint left within Zayn as he filled his stomach to the brim.

'...This food is amazing!' He was relishing every single bite and gave a big thumbs up to the Innkeeper. The middle-aged man gave him a subtle smile in response before he went back to work.

Now that his stomach was finally filled, Zayn drank some non-alcoholic beverages to gel in while he listened to the drunkards around him.

He circulated his soul particles through his head, mostly in the area around his ears to hear better and easily separate the useless information from what he could actually make use of.

It was time for him to leave after two hours had passed. The situation in the Inn's bar was slowly getting out of hand. At least, that was what it felt like to Zayn when he saw how a few drunkards were getting uncomfortably close to the servers.

Some Adventurers were staring at the situation from further ahead, their hands already close to the weapons they carried with them all the time.

The Innkeeper was still calm but Zayn had seen a glimmer in the middle-aged man's eyes. That glimmer felt like a last warning, which was what Zayn used as his sign to leave.

He didn't want to get pulled into trouble when Phillip Cerk's people were already searching for him in the surrounding towns and villages. They were all looking for a young Normie kid, around the age of 16.

Zayn looked a little bit more mature because his physique was decently built. However, other than his physique, the fact that he had black hair and large ocean-blue eyes, and that he wore a large shield on his back, Phillip Cerk and his people didn't know a lot about him.

There were no other distinct facial features known because nobody had really focused on him that much when he was in the Adventurer Hall the day before.

But even if they didn't know a lot about him, the few details were already more than enough to locate him amongst a sea of people the moment he made a mistake. That was why Zayn chose to return to the Inn on the outskirts and used the bucket of water from the morning to bathe and remove the bandage from his left arm to clean the wound. f𝚛e𝗲𝔀e𝚋𝑛o𝘃𝒆𝗹.c𝗼𝒎

"There is not even a scar?…well that is to be expected if she was able to reattach that bastard's hand just like that…" Zayn mumbled to himself before he went towards his small bed.

He sat cross-legged on it, a stance that was often used for meditation which was what most people did in order to absorb the soul particles from the surrounding.

The better the person's meditation skills and the higher the talent to attract soul particles, the easier it would be to pull soul particles inside the body where they could be annexed.

Zayn's talent was below average but that wasn't a problem because he could absorb the Soul Wisps' soul particles. Others were not able to see the Soul Wisp and they would have to rely on luck to bump into an ascending Soul Wisp and absorb the defeated monster's remaining soul particles.

This 'luck' was labeled a Soulwish, which was something Zayn did effortlessly. Exploiting his capabilities to the extreme, Zayn could easily absorb more soul particles than Blessed with more talent.

While others would meditate for a full 24 hours, Zayn could absorb more soul particles than them by hunting a bunch of monsters.

Of course, that didn't make a lot of difference in the end because Blessed could gain much more from solving the most ordinary missions. Their mission rewards were also often useful goods such as armaments, more control of the powers they had been granted, and even the remodeling of their body.

The mission rewards were always equivalent to the difficulty of the task they had solved. Thus, harder missions provided better rewards, but that was only obvious.

In Zayn's case, killing stronger opponents rewarded him with more soul particles, which he could then use for himself or to strengthen his Spirits. He could also summon the Spirit of the opponent he just killed using the technique he obtained from the Grimoire of the Ancient.

However, instead of nourishing his Spirits further, Zayn had to focus on himself a little bit more.

His current strength was definitely not enough to deal with the things he concluded after all the pieces of information he had gathered from the drunkards!
