Chapter 190: Bullies? Sounds like you

Andria’s POV

"While Tristan and I will be representing the group for the male category," Damon said, already bouncing on his feet.

Aven turned toward me. "Basketball?"

"Allison and I again," I said. "We have practiced together before."

"Male category, Tristan and I will be representing again," Damon said.

"We all know Aven is the best at football in the whole of Ashwood; we know we are getting the football victory," Allison announced.

"Looks like our deal has been cancelled, since we are now group partners," I said, turning to Becca.

"The best. I couldn’t think of having a cup I didn’t deserve," she replied.

Tricia’s voice cut in again. "So basically, it’s Aria, Allison, and Becca running everything. The rest of us are just background characters?"

I arched an eyebrow. "It’s not our fault if the rest of you decided to contribute to style instead of sports. I wonder where you are aiming at with that silly question."

Becca snorted, covering her mouth to hide her smile. Damon gave me a proud smirk. "I think you should not stir chaos. If you aren’t in the mood to cooperate, you can leave the group, and probably remain nowhere."

Tricia rolled her eyes, muttering something under her breath, but the argument faded as Aven called for us to focus.

We spent the rest of the evening practicing for the games together. Tricia was very pissed most of the time, and was looking for a way to cause one trouble or another, but we were smart enough to avoid it.

"It’s getting late, I think we should call this a wrap," Becca suggested.

I looked around the field, noticing that most groups had disappeared back to their dormitories.

"Yes, I think we have achieved a lot. We can do the rest on that day," I added.

"Well, don’t forget to rest well, and drink enough water," Damon said, as Becca, I and Allison walked out of the field.

*******************************

The Ashwood campus was transformed. Banners of red, gold, and silver fluttered in the morning breeze, the scent of fresh grass mingling with the faint tang of sweat and excitement.

The day we have all been waiting for has finally arrived.

The bleachers were packed with students, teachers, and even some from the palace. I strained my eyes to see if I could catch a glimpse of Liara amongst the palace representatives, but she wasn’t there.

The first few games passed in a blur: volleyball, baseball, and then basketball. I could still feel the ache in my legs from jumping and sprinting across the court, my pulse in my ears matching the beat of the crowd chanting our names.

"Aria, that last shot was insane!" Allison panted as we left the court, our jerseys clinging to our skin.

"Instinct," I replied with a grin, brushing hair from my forehead. It is more of luck, probably both."

"We are officially ahead by twenty points. The guys better not screw up the football round."

"They will be fine," Allison said. "Damon loves attention too much to lose, Tristan has ego, and Aven is good at the game."

I laughed. "That’s true."

"Well, let’s go change, it’s almost time for the cheerleaders to perform," Allison said.

We both walked together towards the dressing room to get ready for the cheerleading.

I pulled open the door to the dressing room, and we both stepped in

"Yes, we are here," she said, unzipping her duffel bag.

"Yeah. Let’s not give anyone a reason to say we were late," I said, pulling out my cheer uniform from my back.

We were halfway dressed when the door creaked open. The sharp click of heels followed, echoing across the tiled floor. I didn’t have to turn to know who it was; I was already familiar with those strides.

Tricia and Alexa.

"Well, look at that," she said slowly, eyes sweeping over us. "Aria and Allison. The overachievers of Ashwood. You two don’t get tired?"

I tightened my ponytail and glanced at her reflection in the mirror. "Not really. It’s called stamina. You should try it sometime."

Tricia chuckled, the sound sharp. "Cute. But I didn’t come here for banter."

Before I could ask what she wanted, Alexa’s voice chimed in from behind her.

Alexa.

"Oh, Goodness," Allison muttered under her breath.

Alexa was already in her own cheer uniform, perfect as always. "I feel like you guys are missing a point," she said, her voice slightly raised, as if she were speaking out of concern. "You two can’t cheer today, especially not after participating in two sports."

Allison froze mid-step, then turned sharply. "Excuse me?"

Alexa continued. "You both already participated in multiple games. It doesn’t look good; in fact, it is not acceptable."

"There’s no rule, signifying that," I said immediately, my tone even but firm.

"Well, it’s a silent rule," Alexa shot back.

"Silent rule, still it doesn’t exist," I replied. "If it’s not written down, it doesn’t count."

Allison crossed her arms. "And since when did you become a rule keeper, Alexa? Maybe you should go handle your own group instead of following Tricia around like her free escort."

Alexa’s expression flickered, "I was just stating my mind, I think I’m allowed to say my mind anywhere."

Allison’s eyes narrowed. "And some of us don’t care what you think, just go join your group members, they will soon come looking for you."

Tricia stepped forward now, giving Alexa a look. "Enough, Alexa. Let me handle this."

Alexa huffed and folded her arms. She hesitated a little and stormed out of the room.

Allison and I let out a laugh.

"You two think you can monopolize everything on the field today? Well, that can’t happen," Tricia said with so much confidence that it amused me.

"And what can you do? Cheerleading is a sport reserved for the female wolves, and if we still have the energy, we can participate," Allison said.

"Besides, we practiced for it," Becca added from the doorway, stepping into the room.

Tricia notices that she is surrounded, and a panicked expression appears on her face.

"You three can’t intimidate me, you bullies," she accused, alarmed.

Becca, Allison and I exchanged looks. "Bullies? When you know you. Does it feel familiar to you, Alexa and Tracy, back in the days?" Becca asked, smirking at her.
