The Animagus: From Hunter to Monster-Chapter 65: Fight with Lycans: Stat Analysis
The dim light that pierced into the dungeon cast faint reflection on Buji’s trembling structure. His breathing was ragged gasped and his body in low diminish, as he is currently low in strength.
<Ding!>
[The Player is currently low in strength. Do you wish to visit shop?]
"Yes."
The screen changed its interface, bringing to view a different display. The display was not new to Buji since it wasn’t the first time he made use of the shop feature of this system.
He navigated the tabs in the shop feature and searched for energy reviving potion. He saw different brands and their prices, and still decided to go for the one with a lower price.
According to him, he wasn’t rich enough to spend enough. So, he was going to spend lesser everytime until he’s certain he has become rich enough.
The reviving potion he bought "Instant Revival Potion" cost him 3,500 Moncoins.
After gulping down the contents of the potion, his body gradually began to recover. Thanks Jesus the Lycan still hasn’t made any move, even though its action was troubling. Buji just wanted this opportunity to get boosted and strengthened.
’Then, whatever it will have in stock for me, I will be ready for it.’
He dropped his buttocks to the ground in a sitting position, clamoring over his knee with his hands. His attention shifted to the Lycan, with its blue eyes dull and unwavering as it still laid on the cold dungeon floor.
If it wasn’t ready to start the fight, he was going to do that. He has limited time, that’s why he would do as he thought. But he needed to be prepared both physically and mentally, in order to face whatever surprise the Lycan has in stock for him.
He gripped unto his Aetherfang, holding it tightly and instinctively as his mind raced. ’Why wasn’t the Alpha attacking? Unlike the others, it no longer showed signs of rage and bloodlust.
It wasn’t even growling like animals did. The creature’s muteness made things go mad for Buji, it unnerved him more than any feral snarl or dangerous strike he might get at the moment.
’These types of people, are clearly so dangerous.’
"What are you waiting for?" Buji muttered to himself. "I mean, why am I still waiting?"
His gaze was still locked on the Alpha Lycan. His head was knotted, yet he tried to think.
"Think, Buji. Think," he whispered. "Just, why isn’t it attacking like the others?"
"Oowuuu," Buji exhaled ravishly from his mouth. "What game is it trying to play?"
He recalled the story their teacher, in his former academy has told them, particularly about Lycans and their pack hierarchies.
According to the teacher, Alphas were more than just the brute strength in any pack. They were the brains of any operation among werewolves, and Lycans alike. The teacher had used the word "strategists" to explain that they decide when to fight and when to hold back.
In all, their decisions were always considered favorable, and served them their purpose.
Buji narrowed his eyes to where the Alpha Lycan lay. ’So, it’s testing me,’ he realized. ’It wants me to make the first move, to show myself the more. That’s why it’s just lying there.’
"But then, let me not be sure," Buji reasoned. "It had also observed me while I fought the pack members."
He glanced at the jagged stalactites that remained intact above the chamber. His earlier maneuver with it has been effective, except it had also drained him off enough energy.
But that was not the same case with the Lycan which his focused his stare on. It hadn’t involved in any fight, and as a result, had plenty of fight left.
The screen flickered, appearing in his front, pulling his attention briefly.

The screen notified him and disappeared.
"Okay. I didn’t expect that, but, it should have shown me the weaknesses too."
The only weakness Buji knew he was going to put in place to defeat this beast was to aim and tarnish its core. But, it clearly had peak strengths and... and, he’s not sure what will happen.
He tried to think of what to do, but his brain seemed to be blank of ideas. But, he got an idea.
The system won’t assign him abilities and skills that were going to be useless in any dungeon he was quested to. So, in one way or the other, the new skills he gained in his earlier fights should be helpful.
Infernal Strike....
That was the most effective strike so far he had used in this dungeon, especially against the Lycans. Maybe, cause he used it together with his Aetherfang. But the main point he tried to make was that, the effect on the Lycans had been great.
So, he might not be aware of their weakness, or the Alpha’s weakness. But one thing he was kind of certain about is that, the strike weakened them by great amount. They lose a greater amount of energy whenever they come in contact with fire.
’Wait...this only meant that—it only explains the fact that fire is their physical weakness, while their cores remained the innermost weakness. Even though the core was still needed to quickly end a creature’s life, their physical weakness can always give the hunter an edge above, during their constrict or just put—fight.
"Fire...I’ve got that," Buji murmured, caressing his fingers brushingly on the hilt of Aetherfang.
The Infernal Strike can be yielded into effect, no matter the weapon used. But this precious item, this blade of his, has its own capabilities.
The ability to create energy that goes against any mana-like creature. Its usage so far explained what the ability does, and that’s a great help he has for a start.
He locked his gaze unto the Lycan again, and thought. ’It still won’t attack first. Let me take a look then at my stats.’
But before that, he took a deep breath, calming his pounding heart.
’If it won’t make the first move, then, I will have no choice. After all, I’m sensing this is gonna be a battle of wits.’
’Even I should be the first stepper, I would need to go with a plan. And be fast with it. If I can manipulate it into making a mistake, I will have a chance.’
"I think."
He opened the shop menu discreetly, and selected the potion he had bought earlier. He thought of lunging at the creature immediately he sipped from the potion to get enough strength and feel revived, but on a second thought, decided to leave much content in the bottle.
He decided he was going to be calm before going again, especially since the creature had been calm too.
He gulped down the remaining content of the liquid. He felt revived the more, a new surge of energy coursing through his veins.
His vision sharpened, and his grip on Aetherfang steadied, tightened. He looked up at the screen that had materialized in his front.
[Instant Revival Potion: Used!]

"HP?" Buji was shocked to see that. "Seems like there’s been a great change in my stats."
"Stats!"

[The system is sorry the hunter was not duly informed!]
’Ahh,’ Buji thought with mouth gaped open. ’Sorry, for? When you saved me. Shit.’
Meanwhile, the system had not finished showing the stats which Buji had requested. So, it continued.

’Previous players?’ Buji’s mind shifted to the SEA Book. ’Why am I suspecting it has something to do with that SEA Book?’

Description: the inventory will serve as a storage space for any item the Player acquires henceforth. There are situations were the Player gains items but won’t be gifted the item due to lack of storage. It was a common problem using the Acquisition feature but has now being modified to be called Inventory.
This Inventory is therefore not just a storage space, but a magical storage space, which can automatically expand on its own to contain extra large and many items.
"Then why was I didn’t I awaken with this feature?"
[The Player at early stage of his awakening is assumed a newbie and hence, is supposed not to get enough items to jampack the storage space.]
[Congrats! The Player has achieved the vice versa and is rapidly growing items. Hitherto this, the system had upgraded and modified the storage entity for his use.]

[HP: 2000/2000 (+100 stored HP)]
"HP, huh," Buji tried to relate. "Cool."
He dismissed the screen to be able to gain sight of the Lycan, which shockingly to him, still laid still. Static to the spot it had been in.
"Then, I guess I will be making the first move," he muttered. "How should I call on the system to help me analyse this creatures stats now?"
As if the system had all waited for Buji’s request to set in, some letterings began to appear right above the Lycan’s head.
[Lycan Analysis...

Buji’s eyes widened in desperation as he studied the Lycan’s ability analysis again and again. His concern fell on its level.
Before he started his fight with the Lycans, the Alpha’s level had been LEVEL 32, then Level 35. Now...now it has rocketed to 43. Plus, what does the system mean by cultivation?
There was no time to waste time. Earlier the better he attacked this Lycan now, better for him. As he stood up, he got the warning from the time notification.
[01:59:00 remaining!]
"WTF!" Buji exclaimed, startling the Lycan a bit. "I have not any much time left?"
Lurking his eyes on the Lycan which slowly rose from where it lay, he shouted. "Do make it easier for me." With these words, he dashed with full speed toward the Alpha Lycan.
