The Animagus: From Hunter to Monster-Chapter 78: Can I trust you?
Kira screamed on setting her eyes on the body that lay on Buji’s couch. She had entered the apartment and started with compliments of how nice it was, until she saw the body.
"What...is this?!" She asked, covering her opened mouth with her hands.
"A dead body," Buji replied confidently.
Kira shot him this look that could kill him if her eyes were to be a shooting weapon. "A dead body?"
"Yes," Buji responded. "Sit, let me explain things to you."
"Okay," Kira said. "But, I’m not sitting here, in this sitting room. I mean, the body is beginning to get frozen and it’s a disgust to the sight."
Buji looked in the direction of where he kept the body on the couch, it was truly starting to frozen. Is that the possible effect of the poison he had used on her?
He returned his gaze to Kira. "You should manage sitting here, please. I’m yet to get rid of the body."
"But, why should you do that in the first place," Kira asked again.
"I’ve asked you to sit already so that I can explain things to you," Buji retorted. "As for the body, I’m new in this area so I don’t know much places, so, I’m still thinking about what to do with the body."
Kira collected a stool that was beside the centre table and went inches away from the couches, especially the one that carried the dead body. She sat in front of the fireplace and invited Buji over.
Buji came and sat close to her, and after some moments of silence, began.
"I am destined not to only remain a hunter," he said, looking downwards and fondling his two hands against themselves.
"So..."
"So, I know you might have found out about that. The message you sent clearly proves it," Buji said, still keeping his gaze to the ground.
"About what?" Kira pretended not to be aware.
"I came from a forb..." Buji paused.
Was it right to put it straight that way? Won’t she give him in to the association, easily? What is he even thinking? What in the world is he about to do?
’But I will have to do it. If she will be against me, the system will notify...and if she will—’
"You stopped mid-way in your speech," Kira called his attention. Instead of getting a satisfiable response, she got what?
"If she will, eradication. But, finding a trustworthy person will be difficult," he clapped his palms on his face, before releasing them.
"What do you mean?" Kira was confused by the whole situation. "Look, Buji, you’re confusing me. Can you get straight to the point?"
"Now that you said that," Buji suddenly realizes what he had verbalized before her. "I mean, I think I come from a different race, a different bloodline."
"The one that can cause me an instant death, or should I say, eternal isolation."
"You’re still bitting about the bush, Buji," Kira behaved impatient.
Buji stood from the sit, pacing around the sitting room for a while before ending his steps in front of the louvers of the sitting room.
"During our induction there in the hall, that day, I guess you should have noticed something," Buji quoted.
"Of course. Everyone saw that you weren’t able to awaken a talent, even though you got an adorable rank."
"That’s not observation according to my terms. So far everyone witnessed it, I mean," he said before advancing closer to Kira. "I mean, did you observe any anomaly in the hall, like the settings, the features, anything?"
"Uhm...now that you said that. My eyes had only stopped on one thing."
"What is that?"
"The picture frames on the wall," Kira replied. "One of the frames was blotted out."
"Exactly."
In Buji’s mind, Kira was blindly getting to the point he wanted to make. Telling her that he was from the Monster bloodline with his mouth, gosh, that will be awkward for him. It’s better she realizes it herself.
"So, what about it?" Kira asked.
’This girl self, I thought you are knowledgeable and should know what I mean. Or is she pretending to make me spill the milk with my own mouth?’
"Don’t you know anything about the blotted frame?" Buji tried to be calm while asking the question.
"Well, I’ve read books that explained how dangerous anyone from that family bloodline can be. History has it that they end up becoming—"
Her voice trailed off as Buji asked a question.
"Do you see me as dangerous?"
Kira shifted her gaze to the dead body on the couch, before returning it to Buji.
"Well—does that define dangerous?" Kira asked.
Buji looked at the dead body too and giggled.
"You see, I’m from that family bloodline," he said and paused. "And for the lady, surely, it clearly define dangerous. But not on resolve anyway."
Kira shifted a bit from where Buji sat. Her eyes gaped down at him, but there was no flicker of fear in her eyes. She looked somewhat confident even after hearing what Buji said.
"If you didn’t do that in resolve, then what?" Kira asked.
Buji came to the space left for him, and sat down, adjusting himself a bit. He folded his wrists, before responding. "I’m somehow controlled by a system."
"A system," Kira gasped. "Sorry, I mean, all hunters have that control too, right?"
Now, a tinge of guilt settled in Buji. Guilt for what?
Before he started the discussion, he never wanted to. But he rushed into things. From what it going on so far between his dialogue with Kira, she don’t seem to be aware of anything at all.
Then, why does her messages and words sometimes hint at her knowledge concerning his abnormally? Gosh. Is it a mistake he did by letting it out? No, it doesn’t look like.
He needed a companion in this, to help him at least. And maybe, that was why he reached to Kira. Every other thing, every - other - thing...
His thoughts suddenly got blank, he didn’t know what he was thinking, or what to think. He turned to Kira, "What did you say again?"

Kira puffed. "Such tiredness. What system are you talking about?"
"The system is different from the Hunter’s system. Plus, this system controls me with visibility, unlike that of the Hunter’s which is mind-voiced. It is helping me to level up, to become stronger so as to get to that peak point."
Kira couldn’t do anything but to stare blankly at Buji. She listened with kin interest, to every detail that came from Buji’s mouth.
"So, what are you saying?"
"What am I saying?" Buji mimicked her question. "Oh. Sorry, just that I am under attentive eyes now. I suppose the association might be looking for a way to get me, or a way to make me prove my true strength."
"If you say so, don’t you think they have a hint of what you are capable of? Like, from the incident in our last raid. Your exceptionality, and all that. You saved everybody, even the instructors. Don’t you think it’s evident enough if they wanted to do anything with you?"
Buji relaxed himself. "True, but you don’t get at everything with the same approach, right?"
"Right? What do you mean?" Kira asked to be clarified.
"The slip you gave me back at the hospital. The information it contained, don’t you know anything about it."
"Yh, I do. And that was my reason for not returning it to Instructor Hay immediately. That was why I wanted to deliver it to him through you. It was on purpose."
’Alright. This means she was aware of everything from the start. No fear, Buji.’
"That book showed the association has killed my father because they tagged him to be dangerous. You must have come across one of my books also, SEA?"
"I had pried on your privacy then, I’m sorry." Kira apologized.
"It’s okay. I’m just trying to send the information...that they are on the lookout for more people like my father and his ancestors, people like me. And from what I know, I’m the last on the line."
"I’m feeling they’ve decided not to treat everything with one method. They will surely get at me, but their reason is yet unknown. What I know for sure is that, they are planning everything, planning to come with a different style."
"Huh."
"Yes. I’m targeted quite alright. But I also want to use this period of time to get prepared. And to do that as I wish, I need someone I can trust. I need someone to be with me through everything. Someone, somehow."
As if to prove herself trustworthy before Buji, she waved toward the cold dead body on the couch. A bright glimmer of energy shot out from her hand, collapsing unto the body. Moments later, the body began to disintegrate, and continually, it shattered into embers diffusing into open air.
"Disposed," Kira said, with pride.
"That seems to be a high level prowess, when did you learn that?" Buji asked, awe clearly written in his tone.
"A trait, or so, I think."
"So, are you saying I can trust you in this?"
"What do you think?"
