The Art of Chaotic Divinity-Chapter 874: Jade Void Ring
Chapter 874: Jade Void Ring
At that point, only Ling Feng and Jiang Biyi could continue advancing toward the Lingxu Spring. Without wasting time, they pressed deeper into the cavern.
After another fifty zhang, Ling Feng's body began to frost over. The cold qi here was even more intense than the Cold Spirit Bone he had encountered at the Sea-Blue Abyss.
He slowly activated his source true fire, barely resisting the chill as he inched forward.
Meanwhile, the white glow around Jiang Biyi grew brighter, shielding her so effectively that she seemed even more at ease than Ling Feng.
Before long, they spotted a small pool—only about one zhang wide—resting quietly in the deepest part of the cavern.
The pool radiated an overwhelming, soul-piercing cold, as if it could freeze everything in existence.
Ling Feng even felt his spiritual consciousness beginning to stiffen!
He quickly expanded his sword force, taking careful steps toward the Lingxu Spring.
The spirit spring water, capable of greatly enhancing soul essence source, was finally within reach.
"Despicable Donkey, get out here and help!"
Ling Feng mentally called out to the donkey inside the Five Elements Heavenly Palace. Normally, the donkey would've rushed out eagerly by now, but this time, it remained oddly silent.
"Kid, this divine beast can't come out right now."
The donkey's voice was unusually cautious. "There's probably a Void Colossal Beast lurking at the bottom of this abyss. If I show myself, it'll notice us, then we'll all be dead!"
"A Void Colossal Beast?" Ling Feng frowned.
No wonder the Abyss Bloodcrows had fled in a panic — a Void Colossal Beast had emerged from the depths.
Creatures like Eboregth, the three-headed monster sealed within the Four Spirits Divine-Sealing Tablet, were among these ancient titans.
Just remembering that encounter sent a chill down Ling Feng's spine.
Of course, Eboregth was among the strongest of its kind. But even if this one wasn't at that level, the fact that it scared the donkey into hiding meant its power was beyond imagination.
"No wonder you're behaving today."
Ling Feng's frown deepened. With a Void Colossal Beast in the abyss, they couldn't afford to linger. He needed to collect the spirit spring water and leave quickly.
The Wuji Cave Heaven only opened once every three thousand years. After all this time, the spring had refilled completely.
The water resembled a flowing solid—clear, transparent, and exuding an astonishing chill. At the same time, it carried a mesmerizing aura. Just one whiff made Ling Feng's spirit surge with energy.
"At least the effort wasn't wasted!"
He raised his hand, activating the dimensional spirit ring—a celestial artifact-grade treasure. The ring's array flared to life, creating a whirlpool that swiftly sucked up every last drop of the spring water.
"What a good treasure!"
A faint smile touched his lips.
Ke Weili had tossed this ring to him like scrap, but to him, it was practically a divine artifact.
While Ling Feng was busy, Jiang Biyi wasn't idle—but her goal didn't seem to be the Lingxu Spring.
She sat cross-legged, as if sensing something. After a while, a green light flickered from her chest—and in response, a section of the cavern wall near the spring glowed with the same light.
Excitement flashed in her eyes as she scrambled over, pulling out an exquisite jade seal and pressing it against the rock.
Boom—
A low rumble echoed as a stone door slowly rose from the wall.
"There's actually a hidden chamber here?"
Ling Feng's eyes narrowed. Jiang Biyi turned and called out, "Hey, bad guy, aren't you coming to look?"
Ling Feng snorted but followed her inside.
The secret chamber held only a single skeleton, seated in meditation at its center. Judging by the remnants of clothing, it had been a woman.
"Kid, do you know who she was?" Ling Feng asked quietly.
"The Soul Sovereign who created the Lingxu Spring, obviously." Jiang Biyi rolled her eyes, stepping closer.
When she spotted a ring on the skeleton's finger, her face lit up.
"It's really here!"
She reached for it—only to be blasted back by a surge of green light.
Luckily, Ling Feng reacted fast, catching her before she could crash into the wall.
"That was reckless." He frowned. "Is that ring your mission target?"
"Mm-hmm." She nodded. "That woman said only I can take the Jade Void Ring back."
"Only you?"
Ling Feng picked up a pebble and tossed it at the skeleton.
Bang!
The stone shattered into dust before it even got within seven chi of the remains.
His pupils contracted.
Yet Jiang Biyi had touched the skeleton directly earlier!
"Seems she wasn't lying to you." Ling Feng patted Jiang Biyi's shoulder. "Try again. Sentient treasures choose their masters. It looks like you're fated with this one."
"Really?" Jiang Biyi bit her lip, still shaken by the pebble's fate.
"You're the one who always tricks me—have I ever lied to you?" Ling Feng chuckled dryly.
"Good point..."
Steeling herself, Jiang Biyi approached the skeleton again. She started to bow respectfully—
Crack!
Before she could complete the gesture, the skeleton crumbled into dust.
The Jade Void Ring hovered in the air, glowing green as it circled Jiang Biyi.
"S-Senior, I didn't mean to!"
Jiang Biyi yelped, scrambling back toward Ling Feng. "Wh-What's happening?!"
"Don't panic. The ring doesn't seem hostile." Ling Feng kept his voice calm. "Try grabbing it."
Gritting her teeth, Jiang Biyi closed her eyes and snatched at the ring—
To her surprise, it let her catch it.
The green light faded, leaving only an intricately carved emerald ring resting in her palm.
It clearly wasn't an ordinary storage ring.
"Looks like you really are its destined master."
Ling Feng smiled faintly, but his gaze lingered on the crumbled remains.
What's so special about Jiang Biyi?
Why did the ring submit so easily? And why has its original owner's skeleton disintegrated at her mere attempt to bow?
This little witch probably carried a secret—one even she didn't know about.
