Chapter 86: Make Love To Me

Lily didn’t let go of Elena, She held her tighter, rubbing gentle circles on her back, whispering softly, "It’s okay... I’ve got you." They stayed that way for a long while, just the two of them in the quiet room, holding on like they hadn’t seen each other in years.

Eventually, they slowly pulled apart, their faces still close, eyes red from the emotions that had just poured out. Elena sniffled, trying to steady her breathing.

"I’ve missed you," she said softly, her voice barely above a whisper.

"I missed you too, Ely," Lily replied warmly. She smiled gently and reached out to help Elena off the floor, guiding her to sit on the edge of the bed.

Lily looked around the room and noticed the half-open suitcase, clothes scattered around it. Some were already folded, others messily shoved in, clearly in a rush. Her eyes moved to the wardrobe, where several hangers hung empty.

She tried to lighten the mood. "So... what’s going on here? Were you packing, or just doing a little room rearrangement?" she asked with a small smile, pretending she didn’t already know.

Elena quickly looked away, avoiding Lily’s eyes. "Um... it’s nothing. I was just... arranging my room a little," she mumbled, clearly lying.

Lily nodded slowly, not pushing. "Oh, that’s alright then," she said, walking over to the box on the floor. "Let me help you with that."

Before Elena could respond, Lily was already picking up the clothes from the suitcase and carefully hanging them back in the wardrobe. She moved with calm energy, acting like everything was normal.

As Lily continued to work, Elena sat quietly on the bed, watching her. A moment passed, then another. Finally, Elena spoke again, this time, her voice was more serious.

"Lily..."

"Yes, Ely?" Lily replied without turning, still hanging up clothes.

Elena hesitated, then asked, "Did you know my name is being dragged through the news?"

Lily froze for a second, her hand gripping a hanger mid-air. She slowly turned to face Elena, her eyes softening. The air in the room shifted, and both women knew that the conversation was about to take a more painful turn.

Elena looked at her friend, searching for the truth, needing someone to finally be honest with her.

The moment Elena asked her question, Lily froze. Her hands, which had been busy hanging clothes just seconds ago, dropped to her sides. Her heart began to race as panic and guilt slowly filled her chest. She hadn’t expected the question to come so suddenly. It caught her off guard. For a second, she stood there in silence, unsure of what to do.

She knew she couldn’t lie, not now. There was no excuse that would make sense. Of course she had seen the news. She had a phone, just like everyone else. Trying to pretend she didn’t would only make things worse.

Slowly, she turned around to face Elena. Her friend was sitting on the edge of the bed, her back slightly hunched, shoulders tense. She hadn’t looked up yet, but Lily could feel the pain coming off her in waves. It was in the way Elena clutched her hands tightly in her lap, in the way she stared down at the floor as if the answers she wanted might be hidden there.

Lily opened her mouth to speak, but nothing came out at first. She swallowed hard, realizing now why Elena had been packing. She found out. She knew. And the hurt in her silence was louder than any words she could have spoken.

"I’m sorry, Ely," Lily finally said, her voice soft but shaking. "I did know. But you were still unconscious when it all happened. Ford... he didn’t tell you because he wanted to protect you. He didn’t want you to wake up and be burdened with more pain."

She stepped closer, her eyes pleading for understanding. "He made a mistake, yes, but I swear it came from a place of love. He was scared. We all were."

Elena didn’t look up, She sat still, her eyes fixed on a spot on the floor. She didn’t look up, didn’t move, and didn’t say a word. A heavy silence filled the room, wrapping around her like a thick blanket. Her emotions were tangled and confusing, she didn’t know what to feel or what to believe anymore. After a long pause, she finally spoke, her voice barely louder than a whisper. "But telling me would have been best," she said quietly, her words soft but filled with quiet pain.

Lily stepped forward, her heart aching for her friend. Without saying another word, she wrapped her arms around Elena from behind in a gentle hug. "Please don’t leave," Lily pleaded, her voice trembling slightly. Elena didn’t resist. She let herself melt into the comfort of Lily’s arms. For a long moment, they held each other, both drawing strength from the embrace. It was a silent moment of shared emotion, one filled with sadness, confusion, and something unspoken.

Eventually, they pulled apart. Lily straightened up, brushing a strand of hair from her face. "Now, where was I?" she asked with a forced smile, trying to lighten the mood. She walked over to the small pile of folded clothes on the bed and began to arrange them neatly.

"Let me join you," Elena offered, rising from her seat. She moved over to Lily’s side, and together they continued folding clothes in silence. The quiet between them wasn’t uncomfortable, it was peaceful, a pause from the chaos of everything going on around them.

When they finished, they both lay down on the bed, side by side. Their heads rested on the pillows, facing the ceiling. The ceiling fan spun slowly above them, and for a moment, it felt like time had stopped. They lay like that in stillness, neither speaking, just staring at the ceiling as their thoughts wandered.

"How is Kevin?" Elena finally broke the silence, turning her head to look at Lily. Lily’s cheeks turned pink immediately, and a small smile crept onto her face. She turned to face Elena. "He’s alright," she answered, a shy blush coloring her tone.

But Elena’s gaze became more serious. "Lily, be honest with me," she said, her voice calm but firm. "Do you remember anything from the attack? Anything at all about who might’ve done it?"

Lily didn’t expect that question, and for a moment, she looked unsure. She reached out and gently held Elena’s hand, squeezing it. "Elena, if you know anything, if you remember even the smallest detail, you can tell me," she said softly. "I promise I won’t say a word to anyone. It’s just between the two of us."

Elena’s face changed instantly. There was something in her eyes, a flicker of recognition or fear, something that suggested she remembered something. But instead of answering, she looked away, her lips pressed tightly together.

Lily saw it. She saw that something had shifted in Elena’s expression. "Elena?" she called gently. "Are you alright?"

But Elena said nothing. She just stared blankly ahead, lost in her thoughts, her silence speaking louder than any words.

"Elena, Ele..." Lily called softly, her voice filled with concern, but she was suddenly cut off mid-sentence.

"Yes, sorry. I’m with you," Elena responded quickly, snapping out of her thoughts. Her voice was calm, but there was a hint of nervousness behind it. She looked away, avoiding Lily’s eyes. "Just forget it, Lily. I’ll tell you when I remember something," she added casually, trying to sound as if it wasn’t a big deal. But her eyes told a different story—one of hesitation, of something buried deep within her mind.

Lily wasn’t fooled. She reached forward and gently lifted Elena’s chin so their eyes could meet. Her touch was soft, and her smile even softer. "I know you do remember something," she said kindly. "But it’s alright. I’m not going to pressure you. When you’re ready, when you feel comfortable enough to talk, I’ll be here. I’m always ready to listen."

Her words were warm and reassuring, like a soft blanket wrapped around Elena’s worried heart. Elena gave her a small, dry smile in return. It wasn’t a smile of happiness, it was more like a thank-you without words. She appreciated Lily’s patience, even though she wasn’t ready to open up just yet.

Looking at Lily, Elena realized how much her silence might have hurt her friend. The concern in Lily’s eyes made her feel guilty, and she wanted to change the mood, lighten the atmosphere, even if just for a moment.

"So, tell me," Elena suddenly said with a playful glint in her eyes. "Have you guys kissed yet?"

The question came out of nowhere, unexpected and bold. Lily’s eyes widened slightly, her cheeks instantly turning a soft shade of pink. The heavy air between them was now replaced with a bit of surprise and curiosity.

Lily looked over at Elena, studying her face carefully. The smile was there, yes, but behind it was something else. A flicker of sadness, like a shadow passing through her eyes. It was fleeting, but it didn’t go unnoticed.

"I really like him," Lily said softly, almost like she was admitting a secret. "Kevin, I mean. He’s patient and kind. And he makes me laugh, even when I don’t feel like laughing."

Elena turned on her side to face her, propping her head up with one hand. "Sounds like someone’s catching feelings," she teased, her tone light, though her eyes remained thoughtful.

Lily rolled her eyes and chuckled. "Yeah, maybe. But... it’s scary, you know? To let someone in.

"He said he wished to make love to me" Liky blurted out all of a sudden.
