The Billionaire's Temptation: Love, Family and Revenge-Chapter 87: Don’t Leave me please
Elena’s eyes widened in surprise as she looked at Lily. "He really did?" she asked, her voice filled with disbelief. Her eyes seemed to bulge out of their sockets as she moved closer to Lily, clearly eager to hear more details.
Lily chuckled at her friend’s reaction, feeling a bit shy. "So, did you agree?" Elena pressed, her curiosity getting the better of her. She leaned forward, desperate for more information.
Laughing softly at Elena’s intense curiosity, Lily closed her eyes in shyness. "Oh, Elena, it’s me, you. You shouldn’t have to hide anything from me," she said playfully, gently pulling Lily’s hands down from her face.
With a deep sigh, Lily finally relented. "Okay, calm down. Well, nothing happened. I told him I’m not ready, and that was it. He didn’t push it, but I could tell he was sad and really needed me," Lily confessed quietly. Her voice grew soft as she continued, "But I wasn’t ready."
Elena’s expression softened in understanding, and she placed a comforting hand on Lily’s arm. "Lily, you shouldn’t feel bad. If you’re not ready, then that’s perfectly okay. If Kevin loves you that much, he should understand," Elena reassured her friend gently.
Lily gave a small smile of gratitude but still seemed worried. "Thank you, Ely, but honestly speaking, it’s my first time, and I’m worried I might not meet his expectations," Lily admitted, her voice filled with insecurity.
Elena smiled warmly and rubbed Lily’s palms in a calming gesture. "It’s alright, Lily," she said softly, her voice soothing.
A little embarrassed, Lily whispered, "Have you done it before?"
Elena couldn’t help but laugh gently. "Yes, I have," she replied with a slight nod of her head.
Lily’s eyes grew wide, filled with curiosity. "Wow. How was your first time? Was it fun?" she asked, excited to know more about Elena’s experience.
Elena’s smile grew a little more thoughtful as she responded. "Well, honestly, it’s best to experience it for yourself. Every woman’s experience is different, but one thing I will tell you is that it’s important to have it with someone you love and when you’re truly ready for it," Elena said wisely, her tone sincere.
Lily nodded, processing her friend’s advice. She felt comforted by Elena’s reassuring words and more confident about her own decision.
Lily nodded with a playful smile on her face. "So, it’s my turn to ask the questions now."
Elena laughed, amused by her friend’s sudden switch in tone. "Okay, go ahead. Ask your questions. I guess it’s only fair," she said, settling in and giving Lily her full attention.
Lily leaned in slightly and lowered her voice to a whisper, glancing around to make sure no one was nearby to overhear. "So, tell me... has my brother asked for it?" Her voice was quiet, but her eyes sparkled with mischief and curiosity.
Elena burst into soft laughter, her cheeks reddening a bit. "Well," she said slowly, "he hasn’t. And to be honest, I’m not really sure about anything yet."
Lily, not one to let a subject drop easily, tilted her head and looked straight into Elena’s eyes. "What about your feelings for him?" she asked, her expression serious now. She was clearly hoping for a sincere and positive answer.
Elena hesitated, her lips parting slightly as she began, "Well, Lily, I think I..."
"Elena! Elena!" came a sudden voice from the staircase, interrupting her just as the words were about to leave her mouth. The voice was loud and urgent, it was Ford’s.
Both women turned quickly toward the sound, then looked at each other with knowing smiles. "He must be really scared and worried," Lily said with a grin, nudging Elena lightly. "You know my brother loves you, right?"
Elena gave a small, shy nod. "I think so..." she murmured, her smile soft and eyes sparkling, clearly flustered but happy.
Meanwhile, outside, it had taken James a while to finish changing the car tires. Thankfully, there was always a spare kept in the trunk, but the process still took time. The road was dusty and the sun was beating down, making the work even more exhausting.
As James focused on the task, Ford sat in the front seat of the car, arms crossed, face tense with frustration. He was clearly upset and impatient. He had rushed out of a board meeting just for Elena, hoping to reach her in time. The thought of being too late made his stomach churn.
He couldn’t shake the worry that something might go wrong if Lily didn’t make it on time. Every second felt like a minute, every minute like an hour. His mind was full of anxious thoughts, and all he wanted was to be by Elena’s side.
Finally, James stood up, wiping sweat from his forehead. The tire was changed, and the car was ready to go. But as he glanced toward Ford, he didn’t dare make eye contact. The tension in the air was thick. Ford didn’t speak. He just tightened his grip on the door handle, ready to get to Elena as fast as possible.
Though nothing was said, both men understood the urgency. There was someone waiting who meant more than words could explain.
Ford hurriedly jumped into the car, barely taking a moment to catch his breath. His hands shook slightly as he started the engine, and without wasting a second, he sped off. The tires screeched lightly as he drove through the streets, pushing the car as fast as he safely could. His heart pounded in his chest. All he could think about was Elena. The worry in his eyes was obvious, and his mind kept racing with endless "what ifs."
When he finally reached home, the car came to a sudden stop in the driveway. Without even shutting the door properly, Ford sprang out of the vehicle and ran straight into the house, his feet moving as fast as they could carry him. He didn’t even glance at the security guards stationed at the gate, but they noticed the urgency in his actions and exchanged worried glances.
James, a few steps behind, turned to one of the guards. "Did anything happen while we were gone?" he asked, his voice slightly anxious.
"No, everything has been quiet," one of the guards replied. "We should be asking you if something happened at work. You both came back in such a rush."
James just shook his head, his face still tense. "I hope everything’s alright," he muttered. He knew how much Ford cared for Elena, and he silently hoped they had arrived early enough to stop anything from going wrong.
Inside the house, everything appeared calm and peaceful. There was no sign of chaos or distress. Ford stormed through the front door, calling out loudly, "Morgan!" His deep voice echoed through the hallway like a warning bell.
Morgan, hearing his name, quickly came running. He was slightly out of breath by the time he reached Ford, who was standing in the center of the hallway, chest heaving from both the run and anxiety.
"Sir," Morgan said quickly, "Miss Elena hasn’t left. Miss Lily arrived just in time and convinced her to stay. They’re still upstairs, I believe."
Ford let out a huge sigh of relief, visibly relaxing for the first time that day. He took a moment to catch his breath, then dashed up the stairs without another word, calling Elena’s name as he went.
When he reached the room, he found both women sitting calmly together. They were seated close, seemingly deep in conversation before he arrived. The tension in Ford’s chest loosened, and he whispered, "Thank God," under his breath. He walked over to the dressing table and slowly took a seat, trying to compose himself and bring his heart rate back to normal.
Lily looked at her brother and couldn’t help but laugh. "Did you run all the way up here?" she teased, grinning widely.
Elena gently tapped Lily on the arm, silently signaling her to stop teasing. It was obvious from Ford’s sweaty forehead and labored breathing that he had indeed run, and not just up the stairs, but likely from the car itself. He didn’t respond to Lily’s playful question, instead focusing on his deep breaths, trying to slow them down and regain his composure.
The room was filled with quiet relief, but beneath that calm, it was clear just how much Ford cared.
"I’ll leave the two of you alone," Lily said softly, looking at her friend with a warm smile. "Ely, I’ll see you later, okay?" she added, reaching out to hug Elena tightly. There was something comforting in Lily’s embrace—a kind of silent encouragement that everything would be alright.
As Lily stood up from the bed, she gave Elena a little wink, trying to lighten the mood. Elena, however, could only manage a weak smile in return. Her heart felt heavy, and the emotions swirling inside her made it hard to even speak.
After Lily left the room, Elena turned her attention to Ford. She took a closer look at him and could see the exhaustion written all over his face. His shoulders were slightly slumped, his eyes tired and dim, and even the way he sat in the chair looked like he was carrying the weight of the world. She realized just how much her leaving would hurt him—how deeply it would affect him.
Then came his voice, so soft it was almost like a whisper. "Elena, why do you wish to leave me?" he asked, barely loud enough to be heard, but clear enough that the words sank deep into her heart.
Hearing that question made something shift inside her. She felt bad immediately, guilty even. But at the same time, there was still a part of her that felt hurt for being left in the dark. Her emotions were tangled, and she didn’t fully understand why everything had become so complicated between them. Still, as she looked at Ford, sitting there so quietly, she saw more than just a man, she saw someone who needed comfort. Someone who looked like he was about to break.
He looked like he needed a hug.
Without thinking much, Elena stood up from the bed. She moved gently and slowly toward him, her eyes never leaving his
