Chapter 328: Most Important Person to Him

"This is such a weird history to know about." Emily muttered as she let out a deep sigh and tried not to judge Sera at least for the doings of her parents.

What really was absurd about all this ain’t the fact that her parents got her through some sort of forbidden magic, though it’s equally wrong, but the fact that they willingly killed one of their child to save the other.

The mere thought of it sent chills running down Emily’s spine and not in a good way. "Is she aware of all this?" She finally asked.

Shadow slowly shook his head in response before speaking, "This is a secret only known to a few. The world only knows about the good part that her parents allowed to be known - that their daughter is a vampire born. As for the dark truth, only the higher ups and the council families knows it."

"Did you... punish them... I mean for using dark magic?" Emily asked as she also plastered her back against the car but kept her attention fixed on Shadow.

"They were outcasted immediately. Though they weren’t declared rogues after much consideration, they were removed from their noble status and their right of living in the Night Valley. Instead, they were given the task of protecting one of the vampire associated cities in the south lands." Shadow answered as he turned to his side in order to face her.

Emily remained silent as she got lost in her thoughts. Once again, she was in a situation where she should be minding her own business and not interfering even if the party involved was one of her best friends.

But what sort of friend she would be if she let something bad happen to Shane just because she didn’t want to get involved in his so-called business?

Shadow seemed to have read her dilemma in her expression because he quickly spoke, "You don’t have to worry about Shane. Though the past makes the Dragnoir family sounds like anything but good people, they have learned their lesson after all that they suffered. They seemed to regret their mistakes but they don’t regret having Sera and they love her like any other parents would have. So, let the past remain in the past, and allow the girl to start a new life with her mate."

Emily took in a deep breath before she nodded her head in understanding. "So, this is why you won’t be attending this meeting." She muttered more to herself but he clearly heard her pretty well considering his vampire hearing senses were top-notch.

"You are wrong, Princess. I’m not attending this meeting because the people involved in it mean nothing to me." Shadow said as a matter of fact.

"How heartless of you, Shadow. Are you going to say something similar if we ended up in a fight or something in the future?" She teased him but the man didn’t crack a smile like she was expecting. Instead...

"That will never happen. I will never say something like that about you because you are the most important person to me, Princess, and no fight or some other sort of feud will be able to change that fact." There was nothing but raw truth in his words as he gazed straight into her eyes as if looking right into her soul.

Emily had to gulp her saliva several times to moisten her sudden dry throat. Once she finally found some composure, she hurriedly spoke while changing the topic. "Since we have sorted out the situation, we should be heading to my company now. It’s already past noon and I have some really importsnt stuff to get done today."

She didn’t wait for Shadow’s response before she hurriedly opened the passenger side door and climbed into the car. Thankfully, the man took the que and without wasting any time, he too climbed into driver’s seat before heading toward her company building located in the city centre.

Emily soon fell into a routine with the new schedule of her life. She would woke up at six in the morning and after freshening up having an early breakfast, she would head to the outskirts of the Fae Realm’s entrance to train with the Fae King.

Her classes ended at noon and mostly contained her fighting with some of the best Royal Fae Guards, sometimes with magic and sometimes without it.

By the time she would finish her training session at noon, hef entire body would be aching from constant beating she got from the highly skilled and professionally trained fae guards. Though they made sure to never hurt her more than just a few bruises or scratches, it was still not enough to stop her from hating all of them, especially the King.

She mostly had her lunch with at least one of her brothers and Shadow, and she spent the rest of the day at her company, either working as the CEO or writing her seventh webcomic that was reaching its finale.

Somehow, in the midst of her chaotic and tiring new schedule, she and Kaiden barely got to spend much time together. The latter was also pretty busy with his work as his company was sponsoring a worldcup and there was a lot of work for him to take care of.

Like this an entire week passed by and it was finally the day when Daniel was bringing Annika and Clairy to the Alessandro mansion. While they were initially going to meet a week ago, some thing came up and the plan changed at the very last moment.

But thankfully, they were finally getting the chance to meet the special people who were filling Daniel’s life with new colors.

It was early Sunday morning and the housekeeping staff of the mansion had worked really hard to make the mansion look presentable and welcoming for their special guests.

On the other hand, all of the Alessandro siblings were busy in the kitchen as they worked together to prepare a hearty breakfast for Annika and Clairy’s very first visit.
