The Broken Halo-Chapter 172: A Good Mood
The boar-masked boy honestly believed he heard wrong.
Did Simon just ask him to transfer all his merits?
Every single thing?
Even though he already expected that Simon was going to extort him, he believed that it would only be a portion of his merits.
Not every single thing.
The boar-masked boy was not the only one that was shocked by Simon’s request, everybody who was watching and could hear him was also shocked.
They did not expect such ruthlessness from Simon.
Sigh
Step
"You never learn do you?"
The boar-masked boy’s eyes widened in fear when he saw that Simon’s foot was on top of his broken and shattered left hand.
He could literally feel his heart about to beat out of his chest.
"Wait. Hold on. I’ll- ARRRGGGHHHH!!!!"
Crunch!
"I told you I don’t have time to waste on you. I have other things to do, and you’re not worth my time."
Simon indifferently said as he increased the pressure on the boar-masked boy’s hand.
"Please! Please! Please stop! I’ll pay it! I’ll send everything to you!"
Simon looked at the pleading and crying child for a moment, then he removed his foot.
"Send it now."
Despite the intense pain he was feeling, the boar-masked boy did not hesitate to send all his merits to Simon.
He shook Simon’s hand, and the merits were transferred.
Simon checked his Grave Mark, and when he saw that his merits increased from one hundred and nine (109) to two hundred and five (205) merits, he nodded his head.
"See. That wasn’t so difficult. All you had to do was not waste my time and listen to me."
The boar-masked boy said nothing. He held his broken and shattered left hand with tears of pain, fury, and hatred.
Simon could not see his expression, but he could feel the killing intent that was aimed at him from the boy.
The boy wanted to kill him, and well, Simon did not care about that at all.
’I guess it’s a good thing I didn’t kill all of them. If I didn’t, how would I make money from them?’
Simon’s lips curled up slightly, then he turned and was about to walk toward the other three boys who attacked him, but the boar-masked boy spoke.
"How would I heal my hand? I don’t have merits to pay for medical treatment. You’re fucking cruel and heartless."
Simon paused, then he glanced at the boy who was glaring daggers at me.
Once again, it felt like déjà vu to him, and he had a feeling he would be having this conversation or hearing similar statements in the future.
"Because I’m a slave, and because you know that the punishment you’d receive for killing a slave is not as severe as killing a clan member, you wanted to kill me."
"All I took in return was just a pitiful ninety six (96) merits, and I crushed just a single hand. You are not crippled, you are not dying, you still have your spatial ring, and most importantly, you are still breathing."
"Tell me, are you not meant to be grateful that you’re still breathing and that this is all I did to you after trying to kill me?"
"If you’re ready to take a life, even the life of a slave or an ant, you should be ready for that slave or even that ant to kill you."
Simon turned and approached the terrified trio. 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶
"Those who kill by the sword shall die by the sword. It basically means, if you kill, be ready to be killed one day."
"That is the law of the demon realm. Burn it into your pitiful mind."
Everybody remained silent as they stared at Simon who easily obtained all the merits of the last three who tried to kill him.
Simon was indifferent to the stares from his classmates, the stares from those watching from different places, and even from those in far places.
At the end of the day, these four foolish children had unknowingly alleviated one of his concerns.
Having enough money for a quality meal.
’I have three hundred and forty six (346) merits, and if I add my weekly stipend of fifteen (15) merits, I have three hundred and sixty one (361) merits in total. Not bad at all.’
Simon was in a good mood, and he could not help but whistle softly as he walked past his classmates.
’I hope more of them try to kill me. That can be a source of income for me. But I’ll need a more stable and quick source of income.’
’Hmm... What to do, what to do.’
Simon suddenly shrugged nonchalantly.
’Oh well. I’ll think of something later on. Right now, I just want to eat a good meal. I’m starving.’
After Simon left, his classmates could no longer stare at his back, and they began speaking to one another.
Sunless kept on staring in Simon’s direction for a few more seconds before leaving. Normally, majority of the class’ attention was on her, but right now, they were all speaking about Simon.
"What in the world just happened?"
"I can’t believe what I just saw."
"A hybrid slave with a Common Bloodline defeating four guys with Noble Bloodlines?"
"But how is he so strong?"
"He’s not. He’s just very good at martial arts and he’s also good at controlling his demonic energy. I can do the same thing too."
"If you can, then why don’t you fight him and teach him a lesson? We cannot allow a slave to have such reputation in our class."
"Exactly. I know a little bit about the Shadowgrave Academy, and I have never heard a slave torturing and extorting his classmates."
"We cannot allow this to happen. We need to teach him a lesson."
"Yeah, and that guy who said he’s good at Martial Arts and controlling his demonic energy should fight him and teach him a lesson."
"Exactly. He- wait. Where is he?"
"Coward. He ran away."
"Coward."
Conversations like these and several other conversations flew across Simon’s class, and everybody wanted to teach Simon a lesson because Simon’s actions hurt their pride in a way they couldn’t describe.
He was a slave, so why wasn’t he crawling on his feet and serving them?
