Chapter 49: 49 - Bloodline projection

Long Qingyi walked right behind Tang Biyue.

His face was anxious and his steps a little shaky as he watched her back.

His eyes briefly lowered.

From her delicate back to her waist so thin that he could almost encircle it with both hands, and then to her large hips and perfect, plump ass.

He quickly raised his face.

Unlike before, Tang Biyue was no longer hiding her Qi as she searched for her brother.

Her senses as a Rebirth Realm expert were unleashed to the full and the only reason Qingyi wasn’t being crushed by her Qi right now was because she was carefully controlling it.

Qingyi looked at the horizon.

From the top of the great mountain where they stood, he saw endless peaks rising up in a mountain range that seemed insurmountable.

He hesitated for a brief moment.

What on earth did that woman still want with him? Why had she brought him there?

"Are we in the basin of the nine peaks?" Qingyi finally asked, observing the mountain range.

It was exactly as described in some old books he had read in the sect.

An almost endless region, surrounded by a mountain range that could only be crossed by experts of the crystalline core realm.

The density of Qi was so high that cultivators from lower realms could have forced breakthroughs just by breathing it.

’No... the density of Qi is higher than in the sect, but it hasn’t changed that much. We must still be in the outer region of the continent.’ He thought.

"No," Tang Biyue replied coldly, guiding Qingyi to a small but luxurious pavilion at the top of the mountain.

It seemed to be where she was staying.

Halting her steps, she turned towards him.

"You could see it, couldn’t you? My real face?" She asked, her beautiful face coming closer to his.

Warm, sweet breath entered Qingyi’s nostrils, her lips opening in a gentle curve.

Qingyi shuddered at that question.

If he told the truth, she might kill him because she thought he had touched her intentionally, and lying in front of such an existence would be pointless.

After long moments of hesitation, he finally spoke.

"Y-yes. But it was a real accident! I didn’t mean to-"

Qingyi raised his hands protectively, but Tang Biyue didn’t seem to care, just shaking her head coldly.

Despite her coldness, Qingyi still noticed her cheeks turning a little pinker and her lips trembling slightly.

"That power in your eyes, use it again," she ordered, and Qingyi obeyed.

Closing his eyes, he felt his Dantian.

It was slightly different and the draconic Qi had not yet fully recovered, but it was enough.

When he opened his eyes again, they were a brilliant purple, and the world around him was filled with pure, dense Qi.

When his eyes met Tang Biyue’s, he shuddered.

The Qi inside her was so dense that it wasn’t just faint lines running through her meridians.

It seemed that her whole body was one giant meridian.

Just... how large were her Qi reserves?

"You can see the Qi moving, right?" She turned her face slightly, studying Qingyi’s eyes.

They were beautiful, but not only that.

She felt a tremor run through her soul realm and a slight discomfort in her chest, but not in an unpleasant way.

"Yes," Qingyi replied, and a faint smile played on Biyue’s lips.

It was exactly what she had imagined.

Extending her hand slightly, she moved her Qi to her fingertips.

"Tell me, what am I about to do?" she asked.

"Attack me."

"Yes." Biyue stopped her Qi circulation. "Now, try moving the Qi you used to activate this technique out of your body."

"Out of my body?" Qingyi blinked.

He had tried to move his draconic Qi out of his body many times, but it had never worked.

In fact, even moving his draconic Qi anywhere other than his Dantian or his eyes simply didn’t work.

The draconic Qi refused to move.

But... what if there was a different way of doing it?

Qingyi raised his face to Biyue, as if waiting for an explanation.

"There are many types of Qi."

"Some are natural, like pure Qi, which can only be seen by dragons, and Elemental Qi, which can be seen and felt by everyone, but only exists in specific places.

Others are innate in us, the one we are born with in our spiritual roots," Biyue paused slightly, catching her breath before continuing.

"So, we have lineage Qi. This isn’t ours."

She moved her hands in the air and the world around her shook as a greenish Qi that seemed to be made up of tiny crystals formed around her.

"This is the Qi that belongs to an ancestral being. With it comes extreme power and many abilities." The Qi of her bloodline spread through the air and Qingyi’s eyes widened.

He felt his heart tremble and his knees buckle from the pressure.

He couldn’t breathe.

"Among these abilities is lineage projection." The moment Biyue’s voice fell, Qingyi felt as if the world had ended.

The space around her collapsed, his vision distorting as an enormous figure rose from Biyue’s body.

It was a snake with emerald green eyes and crystal white scales.

Its head looked big enough to swallow an elephant as if it were a mouse, and its body stretched for hundreds of meters.

"That’s lineage projection, and that’s what I want you to do," Biyue spoke, but Qingyi could barely hear her.

His body was sunk up to his knees in the ground, his bones seemed to be broken.

He coughed up large gulps of blood.

That wasn’t even a fraction of the power of her bloodline. How the hell could it affect him that much?

"The name is lineage suppression. It is the greatest weapon of a cultivator who has lineage against one who does not.

Your constitution may allow you to kill enemies of much higher cultivation with one blow, but with lineage suppression, you can kill them without even touching them."

Tang Biyue knelt down in front of Qingyi, placing a healing pill in his mouth.
