The Corruption Dragon God: Lust System-Chapter 51 - The Great Demonic War (01)
Chapter 51: 51 - The Great Demonic War (01)
Qingyi left Tang Biyue’s pavilion, heading down the mountain with tired steps.
His meridians ached and the system refused to answer him.
Apparently, he would have to wait until tomorrow to question what had happened to the system. ƒгeewebnovёl_com
He grunted, his eyes scanning the dense forest around him as he walked along the narrow path.
Deep down, he was a little sorry he hadn’t listened to Hua Feiyan.
He should have left revenge against Tianming for later.
Even if Elder Tian was disappointed and his honor was attacked, he would still be in a much better situation than this.
Now, he was under the suspicion of a Rebirth Realm expert, one who only didn’t kill him because the system hid the true function of his lineage too well.
If it hadn’t been for her believing that the problem was in her own body, Qingyi would have been killed right there.
"I need to find a way out of here," he muttered as he flexed his muscles.
With a single impulse, his body emerged over the treetops that covered the entire mountain to the icy, misty peak.
It was a leap of almost twenty meters, but he didn’t even need to use his lightning steps to do it.
Landing on a branch, he looked at the beautiful view on the horizon.
The sun was already low, painting the clouds a rosy gold, its shadows stretching across the endless landscape that separated him from the world beyond.
It was beautiful, but Qingyi didn’t appreciate it.
His mind wandered elsewhere.
They were close to the nine peaks basin, not much more than two to three hundred kilometers by the size of the peaks that rose up at the end of their view.
That would be the perfect moment to flee, but he hesitated, stretching out his senses.
He could feel everything within a radius of twenty meters - every rustle in the leaves, even the flutter of an insect’s wings.
His senses were far superior to those of ordinary foundation realm cultivators, who could rarely sense more than five meters around them, but he was no match for someone like Tang Biyue.
If extended to the maximum, her senses would be able to sweep tens of kilometers, perhaps even that entire mountain.
Even though he was well aware of the effect his attempt to use the bloodline manifestation had had on Biyue’s body, he didn’t relax.
His system might be efficient beyond endurance against women like Feixue and Feiyan, but he was sure that Biyue would only need a single thought to completely eliminate the aphrodisiac effects of the lust system.
’I have to be careful...’ Long Qingyi thought as he returned to the trail, using his lightning steps to land softly.
He was sure that Tang Biyue was watching him at that very moment.
It was impossible to avoid the suspicions of such a powerful expert so easily.
What else could she be doing? Refusing to fight the effects of the lust system and indulging in debauchery while thinking about him?
Qingyi wasn’t so deluded as to consider this possibility.
’Why would someone like her even bother to save me?’ he asked himself.
Even if he was in the Burning Blood Realm - no, even if he was in the Crystalline Core Realm, he would still be like a commoner in front of an emperor compared to her.
With his current power? He barely qualified as an ant in her presence.
Not even his charisma and lust system should be able to cross that abyss.
Qingyi’s thoughts were interrupted when he once again found himself in the hut.
Opening the door, his eyes met the figure of Tang Yandu, meditating peacefully.
"Back at last, princess?" Yandu’s eyes opened and a brilliant smile took over his face.
Qingyi just ignored him, taking a seat on the opposite side of the hut.
Being called a princess made him uncomfortable, but in the end he just shook his head in defeat.
There was very little he could do against a Nascent Soul Realm cultivator.
Even with his cultivation sealed, Yandu could still easily make him bow, just with his murderous intent.
"So, how did it go with my little sister? She’s so beautiful and kind, isn’t she?" Yandu didn’t mind being ignored, continuing with his questions.
Qingyi raised his head slightly, his eyes meeting Yandu’s.
The handsome young man knew that Tang Yandu was a dangerous man, a demonic cultivator, and he wanted to stay as far away from him as possible.
But he still couldn’t help being curious.
Didn’t Yandu have any pride as a cultivator?
Tang Biyue was interested in Long Qingyi, but always kept a respectful distance.
Her words were always orders because that was the difference between them.
Yandu, on the other hand, treated Qingyi with total casualness, as if he wasn’t a centuries-old old monster.
"Do you want to know why my sister saved you and didn’t kill you despite her suspicions?" Yandu asked after long moments of silence, his eyes fixed on Qingyi’s.
The young man said nothing, but Yandu continued, with wistful eyes.
"You know, my family used to be the most powerful and feared in the whole nine peaks basin. The nine sects and seven families would shudder when they heard our name. Our poison was supreme and not even transcendents could escape our arts of assassination..."
Yandu turned his face, looking at the only window in that hut and at the mountain ranges that stretched into the darkened horizon.
"But everything changed twenty thousand years ago..."
"In the great demoniac war?" Qingyi asked, raising his eyes to meet Yandu’s.
The sun had completely set and darkness overtook the hut.
Yandu looked surprised for a brief moment.
The Great Demon War wasn’t public knowledge - the powers of the Nine Peaks Basin didn’t suppress the story directly, but they didn’t do anything to preserve it either.
Even his family only had a few books talking about this event.
But in the end, he just shook his head. "Yes, during the great demoniac war."
